Chapter 967 Reminding You That I Was a Doctor
"How'd you know that?" The man chuckled.
Nora replied, "You've suffered from digestive issues, right?"
The man nodded. "Yeah."
Nora smirked. "You've got a bit of enteritis. I'll write you a prescription. Just follow it."
"Okay." The man nodded eagerly.
The crowd, impressed by her knowledge, got excited.
"Dr. Smith, help me! I always have chest pain."
"Dr. Smith, I keep having nightmares. What should I do?"
"Dr. Smith, I snore, and my wife is threatening to divorce me!"
Mateo stood aside, watching Nora patiently answer every question, and smiled.
Nora lived up to her reputation as a miracle docor.
In another room, Aaron was meeting with Wyatt.
After the recent commotion, Wyatt had calmed down, but Aaron's presence still made him uneasy.
"Mr. Reid, just be open with Mr. Gordon. He genuinely wants to hear your concerns," Tobias said.
Wyatt glanced at Aaron. "Mr. Gordon, we're not trying to cause trouble, but my son Calvin Reid and Jasper's son Christopher Walsh died unjustly."
"We're from a poor family. My wife and I raised Calvin with great difficulty, hoping for better days. But he died after just a few years of work. How can we not be angry?"
Aaron squinted. "You think there's something suspicious about Calvin's death?"
"Yes, Calvin's condition had clearly improved. He was out of the ICU, in a regular ward. I even spoke with him. How could he suddenly vomit blood and die? How do you explain that?"
Wyatt's chest heaved, his eyes red with pain.
Aaron was silent for a moment, then calmly said, "Mr. Reid, I'm sorry for you loss. But sometimes, medical issues are inexplicable. Being moved to a regular ward doesn't mean everything is fine. It could have been a temporary improvement."
"Impossible! Calvin was always in good health. There's no way it was just a temporary improvement! You must be covering up a medical error. Otherwise, why did Christopher Walsh die the same way?"
Wyatt was agitated.
Aaron's brows furrowed, unable to make a conclusion.
At that moment, Johnnie entered.
"Mr. Gordon."
"What's up?"
Johnnie nodded and said to Tobias, "Tobias, please step out for a moment."
"Yes," Tobias responded and left.
Johnnie leaned close to Aaron's ear and whispered, "Today's incident was orchestrated by Rafael. He has a collaborator here."
He repeated the conversation he overheard between Gabriella and Rafael.
Aaron's eyes narrowed as he glanced at Wyatt. He began to believe that Calvin's death might not have been an accident, but rather someone was using it to incite the families.
Who was behind this?
Maybe the man leading the commotion, Zachary, would know.
Outside, Nora was led away by Mateo.
He was worried that if they stayed any longer, Nora would be overwhelmed by the crowd.
"Wow, these people are really lucky to have you as their doctor," Mateo sighed.
Nora laughed. "Jealous of them being sick, huh?"
"Yep, very jealous. Only when I'm sick can I come see you!" Mateo joked.
Nora chuckled, ignoring him, and started looking for Aaron.
Just then, she saw Frederick striding over.
"Frederick," Nora called out.
"Mrs. Gordon," Frederick stopped.
"Did the guy confess?"
"No, he's stubborn, insisting no one instructed him. If we push further, he might get seriously hurt. I wanted to check with Mr. Gordon."
Nora raised an eyebrow. "Take me to see him first."
"Okay."
Frederick led Nora to an empty room.
Inside, Zachary was bound and beaten, lying on the ground groaning.
Seeing them enter, Zachary cursed, "You bastard! Trying to force a confession? Kill me if you dare, or I'll expose your evil deeds to the media!"
"You're driving me up the wall!" Frederick raised his fist angrily.
Nora stopped him. "Frederick, let's talk this out."
Frederick stepped back, giving her space.
Zachary looked at Nora squatting down. "You're Aaron's wife, right?"
"Yes, I am," Nora said.
"Bitch, let me go. What makes you think you can punish me? You think you're some kind of judge and jury?" Zachary spat.
"Because you caused a public disturbance."
Nora wasn't angry, still smiling.
Zachary shouted, "What evidence do you have? It was those old folks causing trouble!"
Nora said, "We saw you inciting the crowd and handing out sticks. How did you know there were sticks in the corner?"
Zachary's eyes flickered. "I found them by accident, of course."
Nora said, "But in the video, you walked straight to the corner, like you knew the sticks were there."
Zachary's eyes dodged, but he stayed stubborn.
"Ridiculous! This proves nothing. I was just thinking ahead, worried we might need them."
Frederick became impatient.
"Are you still trying to justify yourself? Want me to beat the pants off you?"
Zachary defiantly shouted, "If you have the guts, kill me!"
Nora chuckled. "Killing you would be too easy."
She took out a needle and waved it in front of him. "You know I'm a doctor, right?"
Zachary was stunned, eyeing the needle. "What are you gonna do?"
Nora pressed the needle to his face, slowly sliding it down. "Just a reminder, a doctor has many ways to make someone wish they were dead."
The cold touch of the needle made his skin crawl.
Zachary swallowed, shouting with false bravado, "Don't mess around, or I'll call for help. Help, Mrs. Gordon is going to kill me!"
Nora smiled, and with a quick motion, jabbed the needle into his neck.
Zachary's voice stopped abruptly, looking at her in horror.
