Chapter 362 If I Can't Do It, No One Can
Upon his return home, Ken found his wife attempting to coax their young son into eating. The day's events weighed heavily on his mind, and with a gloomy expression, he approached the pair. In a sudden fit of anger, he knocked the bowl from the table.
"Are you still in the mood to eat?" he accused, glaring at his son. "This is all your fault, you little troublemaker!"
His wife, taken aback by his fury, quickly moved to shield their son, Aiden, behind her. "Why are you taking your anger out on our son?" she demanded. "You were the one who taught him to stand up to bullies, promising to support him no matter what. Why can't you handle it now?"
Ken was left speechless, his face darkening further.
From behind his mother, Aiden peeked out, his voice hoarse from crying. "Dad, I hate those three brats. They bullied me, and I can't just let it go. You have to seek revenge for me! They all deserve to die!"
Upon hearing this, Ken's eyes flashed with a hint of cruelty. His anger was not directed at his son, but at the three children born to Nora, who had caused his son such humiliation. They had not only made his son lose face, but they had also caused him to fall out with the Woodhouse family. He vowed to settle both old and new scores with them.
Meanwhile, at the Imperial City Hospital, the doctor who received the Woodhouse family wore a grave expression.
"Mr. Woodhouse," he began, "Doctor Joe is currently attending a medical seminar in another state. While I can certainly treat your son's hand, I can't guarantee that I can fully restore it."
Mr. Woodhouse had already contacted the relevant doctors before arriving at the hospital. However, the chief surgeon's absence put a tremendous amount of pressure on the doctor who received them.
Mrs. Woodhouse's face turned pale, her eyes welling up with tears. "Andrew, what should we do now? We need to find a solution quickly. Our son's hand can't be left crippled!"
Andrew, attempting to maintain a calm facade, comforted his wife. "Don't worry, the hospital director will be here soon. He will definitely have a solution."
Just then, Nora, who had been standing quietly behind them, spoke up. "I will perform the surgery on the child."
Her statement was met with doubtful glances.
"Nora, you're just an herbalist," Emma retorted. "Don't cause trouble here."
Nora's face remained impassive. "Believe me, if I can't do it, no one can."
Emma scoffed at her audacity. "You sure talk big, Nora. Ryan is the future heir of the Woodhouse family. If anything goes wrong during the operation, can you take responsibility?"
Andrew, standing beside them, chimed in. "Nora, we appreciate your good intentions, but surgery is not child's play. Let's wait until the hospital director arrives."
Nora wanted to reveal her true identity as Master Healer Dr. Sun, but she knew her words would fall on deaf ears at that moment.
Just then, the hospital director arrived in a hurry. The Woodhouse family immediately approached him.
"Director, you finally arrived. Please find a doctor to save my son," Andrew pleaded urgently.
The director looked troubled. "Mr. Woodhouse, I'm aware of your son's condition. However, our best doctor, Doctor Joe, is currently unavailable. We can only find another doctor to perform the surgery in his place. I've already contacted other hospitals, and the doctors from outside hospitals are on their way."
Upon hearing this, the Woodhouse couple's anxiety heightened.
Nora spoke up again, "Director, the situation is urgent. We need to arrange for someone to perform the surgery on the child immediately. If we continue to wait, even if the child's hand tendons are successfully reconnected, there is still a high chance of them being immobilized."
The director, recognizing her voice, looked at her closely and became excited. "Are you Master Healer, Dr. Sun?"
He had previously witnessed Nora perform a miraculous surgery on a royal family member in country A, and he remembered it vividly.
"It's me," Nora confirmed. "Can I perform this surgery?"
The director nodded eagerly. "Yes, of course! This may be a major operation for others, but it's just a minor procedure for you! If you can't do it, then nobody in the world can!"
The Woodhouse family members looked at Nora in surprise.
"Nora, you are Master Healer, Dr. Sun?" Andrew asked for confirmation.
"Yes," Nora replied confidently.
Andrew and his wife exchanged glances, and Mrs. Woodhouse quickly grabbed Nora's hand. "Nora, please save Ryan's hand."
"Don't worry, I will do my best," Nora reassured her, before turning to the doctor beside her. "Let's go, take me inside for preparation."
"Okay," the doctor replied, snapping out of his brief astonishment. He quickly led Nora toward the operating room.
Emma watched as Nora walked briskly ahead, her expression complex. Master Healer Dr. Sun was held in high regard by the upper-class society, yet Nora had chosen to live a low-key life, never revealing her true identity. Emma couldn't help but wonder why someone as extraordinary as Nora was her nominal daughter.
Aaron instructed Jacob to escort the three children back to the safety of their home, while he himself accompanied Ebenezerand the rest of the group to the Imperial City Hospital.
On the way, he received a message from FabioFabio: [Arrived.] Aaron, the Turner family has ousted Ken from his position and dispatched him overseas]
A faint smile played on Aaron's lips as he relayed this news to Ebenezer
In a voice as cold as winter's breath, Ebenezer remarked, "Gavin was wise not to let his eldest son bring ruin upon the entire Turner family!"
Kenneth, his gaze equally frosty and grave, nodded in agreement. "Tomorrow, I have a meeting with the principal of the school where the Turner boy is enrolled. I intend to investigate whether this Aiden has a history of bullying. If he does, the school must devise a strategy to manage such a student."
Ebenezer concurred, "I'll accompany you. That insolent child dared to conspire against my three grandsons. He can kiss goodbye to any hope of a comfortable life in Lindwood City."
Aaron arched an eyebrow, recognizing their pursuit of justice for the children. He contemplated Ken's parenting style and deduced that it was likely his son was a schoolyard tyrant.
In the past, Ken's reputation had instilled fear, forcing ordinary people to endure his son's transgressions in silence. However, now, under the pressure exerted by the Hamilton family, Aiden would undoubtedly be compelled to leave school.
Other educational institutions in Lindwood City would also reject him, leaving Ken with no choice but to send his son abroad. Their vehicle continued its journey, soon arriving at the hospital.
By this time, Nicholas had also reached the hospital. After exchanging greetings, they discovered that Nora was currently performing surgery on Ryan.
The crowd whispered amongst themselves, their anticipation palpable as they awaited the conclusion of the surgery. Three hours later, the operation ended, and Nora emerged.
The Woodhouse family surged forward, each member anxious to know the outcome. Nora removed her surgical mask, her brows furrowed with fatigue, yet she maintained a composed demeanor.
"Rest assured, everyone. The child's tendons have been successfully reattached," she announced. The Woodhouse family members showered her with gratitude upon hearing this news.
"Nora," Mrs. Woodhouse inquired, “Once my son recovers from his rest period, will his hand fully recover? Will he still be able to play the piano?"
Nora paused to consider her response, then said, "Although the surgery was successful, it is currently not possible for his hand to fully recover."
Mrs. Woodhouse blanched at this revelation, "What should we do? Ryan was supposed to become a pianist! Are we just going to ruin his future like this?"
Andrew interjected, "Nora, you are a master healer. Can't you devise a way to restore his hand to its original state?"
Nora was about to respond when Howard abruptly interjected, "Nora, Aaron's leg was once broken, but now he can move freely. I believe you can find a way to restore Ryan's hand, right?"
