Chapter 809 Your Husband Was Attractive
Jane walked around and gave her colleagues some instructions.
Zephyr followed beside her, watching her bustling around, wanting to say a few more words to her but not getting the chance.
He could only watch as Jane exited the hospital lobby and got into the police car parked by the roadside.
The car sped away, and Jane didn't even say goodbye to him.
This Jane was indeed efficient and decisive.
Zephyr watched the departing police car, and for some reason, his mind wandered back to the scene at the Hilton where Jane was dressed as a sexy lady.
Thinking about how Jane had touched him, Zephyr's ears inexplicably grew warm.
He quickly took a few deep breaths, letting the fresh air dispel the slight heat.
Nora returned to Aaron's villa in the morning and went to bed to sleep after breakfast.
Aaron didn't disturb her and went to the office to handle business after she fell asleep.
Nora slept at home all day and only woke up in the evening.
She lay in bed for a while longer and only got up after her mind was fully awake.
Her phone was turned off, and Nora knew it must have been Aaron who turned it off for her.
She smiled and turned on her phone.
There were quite a few messages and a missed call.
The call was from Jenny.
She probably found it strange that Nora hadn't replied to her messages, so she called.
Nora got out of bed and called Jenny back while heading to the bathroom.
The call connected quickly. "Hello, Jenny."
"Nora, you're awake?"
Jenny's cheerful voice came through the phone.
Nora entered the bathroom, stood in front of the sink, and smiled. "How did you know I was sleeping?"
"I sent you messages, and you didn't reply. I called you, but you didn't answer, so you must have been busy. I called Aaron to check, and that's when I found out Sandy gave birth, and you didn't sleep all night," Jenny explained.
Nora smiled. "I saw your messages in the morning and wanted to reply, but I was afraid of disturbing you and Edric, so I thought I'd contact you later. I didn't expect to sleep until now."
Jenny's joyful voice came through the phone.
"Nora, I really want to hug you. Thank you so much this time. You used Betsy Ward to provoke Fiona, and now she knows she was wrong and is much more polite to me."
Nora's eyes also sparkled with a smile. "Fiona doesn't know it was us who did the Betsy thing, right?"
"She doesn't know, and neither does Edward. But Edric found out," Jenny said.
Nora raised an eyebrow. "Is Edric very angry? He must have scolded me again, right?"
"No, Edric is a reasonable person," Jenny quickly defended Edric.
Nora laughed. "Don't praise him too much, or he'll get a big head."
Jenny laughed and then said, "But that Ursula is really shameless. Yvette has left Youston, but she stayed."
Hearing this, Nora's smile faded a bit.
"Is she still staying at your in-laws' place?"
"No, she's staying at a hotel under the Bishop Group," Jenny said.
Nora looked at her beautiful face in the mirror and shook her head.
If Ursula wanted to stay in Youston, there was nothing they could do.
Edric had a good family background and was handsome, so he didn't need to go out of his way to attract women; plenty of women would come to him.
Marrying a man like Edric, Jenny had no choice but to stay vigilant.
"Jenny, be more careful, and don't let other women take advantage," Nora suggested.
Jenny sighed, "Nora, why do these women always go after other people's men? It's so annoying."
Nora smiled. "Why? Because your man is attractive!"
Jenny playfully said, "Nora, don't just watch the show. Your man is attractive, too, so you should be careful."
Nora thought of Aaron's handsome and aloof face and couldn't help but smile.
"My man is as cold as ice; not many women can warm him up."
Jenny clicked her tongue and teased, "You're so smug. I remember someone didn't want to get married before."
Nora chuckled. "That was me!"
Jenny was amused and laughed out loud.
The two chatted for a bit longer and then hung up.
After freshening up in the bathroom, Nora was about to go downstairs.
At that moment, her phone rang.
It was a call from the Gordon Manor.
Nora answered, "Hello?"
"Mommy, I want to sign up for an extracurricular class. Do you agree?"
Millie's voice came through the phone.
Nora raised an eyebrow, a hint of surprise in her eyes.
'Why did Millie suddenly want to sign up for a class?' She thought.
"Millie, what class do you want to sign up for?"
"I want to learn painting!"
Millie wanted to learn painting.
Nora smiled. "Why do you suddenly want to learn painting?"
"Because I want to."
Millie's voice was full of excitement.
"Great-grandpa said he would hire a teacher to come to the house to teach me, but I want to learn with other kids. Great-grandpa said I need your permission to sign up. Mommy, do you agree?"
Nora understood.
Millie wanted to go to an outside class to learn painting, while Adelbert planned to hire a painting teacher to teach her at home.
Millie probably found it more exciting to learn with other kids, so she wanted to go to a class.
"I agree."
She respected her children's wishes.
As long as Millie liked it, Nora certainly wouldn't oppose her learning new skills in her spare time.
If Millie was still interested in painting after some time, Nora could hire a professional art teacher to teach her.
"Great, great-grandpa, Mommy agreed!"
Millie's voice came through the phone.
"I know; I'll have someone sign you up tomorrow."
"Okay, thank you, great-grandpa. Thank you, Mommy. Mommy, I'm hanging up now!"
Millie's excited voice came through the phone.
Nora smiled and hung up.
Downstairs, a servant respectfully asked, "Mrs. Gordon, you're awake. The food is being kept warm. Do you want to eat now?"
Nora touched her stomach; she was indeed hungry.
"Okay."
The servant quickly brought the food from the kitchen.
The food being kept warm was probably Aaron's instruction.
He was afraid she would be hungry, so he made sure she had something hot to eat as soon as she woke up.
Nora's eyes were full of tenderness as she sat at the dining table and sent Aaron a message on her phone.
Nora: [Busy?]
Soon, Aaron called.
"Awake?"
"Yes."
"Have you eaten?"
"Just sat down, about to eat."
