Chapter 933 Are you Here to See Aaron
Gabriella's flight lands at Youston Airport at 4:30 PM.
Nora was chatting with Jenny and Edric. When it was almost time, she said goodbye and asked Frederick to drive her to the airport to pick up Gabriella.
Soon, Gabriella emerged from the arrivals gate.
"Nora."
She opened her arms, smiling warmly.
Nora smiled and hugged her. "Welcome to Youston."
Gabriella laughed. "Nora, I came as soon as I said I would. Hope I'm not a bother."
Nora replied, "No, it was great having you here.."
Gabriella laughed and looked around. "Didn't Mr. Gordon come with you?"
Nora raised an eyebrow. "Are you here to see Aaron?"
"Of course not," Gabriella said. "I just thought Mr. Gordon is always with you. Surprised he didn't come."
Nora smiled. "He's busy."
Gabriella pouted. "When isn't he? Maybe he thinks I'm not important enough."
Nora didn't comment. As they walked, she said, "Johnnie isn't here. You probably won't see him."
Gabriella nodded. "I know, he's on a business trip to Bescosarst."
Nora asked, "Then why didn't you go with him?"
"Because your charm is greater than Johnnie's," Gabriella said, linking arms with Nora.
Nora didn't like Gabriella's affection but didn't show it. She pulled her arm away and smiled. "Don't say that, it might cause misunderstandings."
"Like what?"
"Like you like women."
Gabriella rolled her eyes. "Did Mr. Gordon say that?"
Nora smiled and didn't deny it. They got into Frederick's car.
Looking out the window, Gabriella said, "The climate in Youston feels warmer than Lindwood City."
"Yes, Youston is warmer."
Gabriella said, "The environment here is lovely. No wonder it nurtured someone as beautiful as you. I'm envious."
Nora smiled. "You're very pretty too."
"Really?" Gabriella took out a makeup mirror. "Nora, have you noticed we look a bit alike?"
Nora was surprised. "Do we?"
"Yes," Gabriella said, motioning for Nora to look in the mirror. "I'm just a bit chubbier. If I were thinner, we'd look more alike."
Nora glanced at the mirror but didn't comment. She didn't think they looked alike, but if Gabriella said so, then fine.
"How long are you staying?"
Gabriella put away the mirror and protested, "Nora, I just got here, and you're already trying to get rid of me?"
Nora said, "No, just asking."
Gabriella adjusted her hair. "I don't have anything to do. Whenever you go back to Lindwood City, I'll go with you."
She paused and asked, "I won't be a bother, will I?"
"No," Nora said, even if she thought otherwise.
They chatted casually.
Nora was going to book a hotel for Gabriella, but Gabriella said, "Can't I stay at your place? I'm tired of hotels."
She wanted to stay at her place!
Nora saw Gabriella's pleading look and averted her gaze. "Okay, if you don't mind, you can stay at my place."
Gabriella laughed. "Why would I mind? Staying at your place means you consider me family."
Nora smiled slightly and said nothing more.
Just then, her phone rang. It was Aaron.
"Hello," Nora answered.
"Honey, did you pick her up?"
"Yes."
"Where are you now?"
"On our way back."
"I'm going to Star River Bay to pick up the kids and Carter. After you settle Gabriella in the hotel, come straight back to the Gordon Manor."
The car was quiet, so Gabriella heard everything.
She leaned closer to the phone and said, "Mr. Gordon, I'm not staying at a hotel. Nora said I could stay at your place."
Aaron didn't say anything, but Nora could hear his breathing deepen. He probably wasn't happy since he never allowed unfamiliar outsiders in his private space.
Nora didn't like it either, but since Gabriella didn't want to stay in a hotel, she had no choice.
"Aaron, I'll take Gabriella to the Gordon Manor for dinner."
Aaron grunted, and they hung up.
Gabriella said, "Nora, does Mr. Gordon not welcome me to Youston?"
Nora smiled. "Of course not."
Gabriella pouted. "I know him too well. He's a domineering man. He definitely doesn't want anyone taking you away from him. Now that I'm here, taking up your time, he surely won't welcome me."
Nora chuckled and said nothing more.
The car drove to the Gordon Manor.
At the Gordon Manor, Aaron had just arrived with Carter, Billy, and Samantha. Carter had been reluctant to come, but Aaron insisted.
She was chatting with Jacob. Caden and Jeffery were also there, talking to Billy and Samantha. While they hadn't been close before, Caden and Jeffery were now their grandparents, treating them with kindness. Naturally, Billy and Samantha grew fond of them in return.
On the coffee table, Jeffery's phone softly played a piece of music. Samantha and Carter had learned a bit of drama and hummed along.
Jeffery clapped and smiled. "Samantha can sing? And she's good at it!"
Samantha straightened up, feeling proud.
Caden coughed lightly. "Samantha, your grandma sings even better. You should have her teach you more."
Samantha blinked. "Grandma can sing too?"
Jeffery ignored Caden's flattery. "Don't listen to your grandpa. Grandma doesn't sing as well as you."
Samantha's eyes curved with a smile. "Grandma, sing a piece for me."
Jeffery laughed. "I'm afraid I won't sing well and you'll laugh at me."
"I won't, I promise."
"Better not," Jeffery teased. "I'll save my singing for when we're alone, okay?"
She refused to sing, and Caden suddenly took out his phone and played a recording. It was Jeffery's clear and precise voice singing a song.
