Chapter 944 Poor Us Two
Aaron chuckled and called out, "Frederick."
"Here," Frederick responded, appearing promptly.
"Go buy a new set of bedding."
Aaron looked triumphant, a smug smile playing on his lips as he glanced at Frederick, his competent assistant.
"No way!" Jeffery and Nora both objected at the same time.
Frederick was at a loss. Who should he listen to?
Caden walked over to Aaron and cleared his throat. "Looks like we have no other choices!"
Aaron shot him a disdainful look. "Dad, are you going to give up like this?"
Caden frowned. "What do you mean by that?"
Aaron replied, "Go make up with Mom. Don't let her compete with me for Nora."
Caden glanced at Jeffery, who was chatting with Nora, and rubbed his nose. "Then help me out a bit. Your mom refuses to make up with me."
Aaron smirked. "You should've thought of that earlier."
He looked like he was enjoying the drama, with no intention of helping.
Caden, feeling embarrassed, snorted, "Tonight you sleep on the floor. Don't even think about touching my bed."
Aaron was speechless. He hadn't planned on sharing a room with Caden anyway!
That night, Jeffery wouldn't really let Aaron and Caden share a room. In the end, both Aaron and Caden went to bed with their wives.
Before bed, Jeffery reminded Aaron not to mess around.
Aaron said, "Mom, I know my limits. You should give Dad a break and ease up a bit."
Considering that Caden had humbled himself to ask for his help, Aaron reluctantly tried to persuade Jeffery.
"It's none of your concern. Just treat Nora well," Jeffery replied, turning away arrogantly.
Aaron smirked and turned to enter the bedroom.
At that moment, Nora was chatting with Jenny. She had just posted on social media, announcing she was going to be a mother again. There were a lot of comments below.
Nora was reading the comments while chatting with Jenny about pregnancy.
Aaron walked over and took the phone from her hand. "Since you're pregnant, you should use your phone less."
Nora laughed. "Give me back my phone, or I'll make you sleep with Dad."
Aaron sat down next to her, wrapped his arm around her waist, and kissed the corner of her lips. "Would you really?"
"Of course, I'd be thrilled not to sleep with you."
Nora's eyes lit up at the thought of not being bothered by Aaron for several months.
Aaron was speechless. He pinched her nose. "You heartless woman."
Nora pushed his hand away. "Give me my phone back. I'm chatting with Jenny."
Aaron said, "What are you talking about? I'll reply for you."
Nora rolled her eyes at him, unwilling to respond. "I'm going to take a shower."
Aaron chuckled, pulled her back as she tried to get up, and held her on his lap. "Sweetheart, I was planning to take you back to Lindwood City tomorrow and let Johnnie stay here with Gabriella. But now, I've changed my mind."
Speaking of Gabriella, Nora became interested. "What did you change your mind about? Are we staying in Youston for now?"
"Yes."
"Why?"
Aaron played with a strand of her hair and asked, "Sweetheart, when's a man most likely to cheat?"
Nora blinked and replied, "Lots of times! When he's drunk, after a fight, when he's apart from his wife for long, when he's frustrated at work, or when he suddenly gets rich."
Aaron asked, "Anything else?"
Nora's eyes sparkled. "When his wife is pregnant."
Aaron smirked and placed his hand on her belly. "Just like now."
Nora teased, "What, are you planning to cheat?"
Aaron flicked her forehead. "You naughty girl."
Nora laughed, rubbing her forehead. "You decided to stay to expose Gabriella's true intentions?"
"Yes," Aaron said. "I don't want to wrong an innocent person just because she's Suzy's sister. I want to see what her real intentions are."
Nora nodded. "You're right. We shouldn't jump to conclusions. Maybe she's really just here to collaborate with you."
Aaron added, "I hope so."
Nora's phone beeped with a new message.
"Give me my phone," she said.
"Let's look together," Aaron replied, picking up the phone and glancing at it. His eyes narrowed.
The message was from Mateo.
Mateo: [Nora, are you going to be a mom again?]
Aaron's fingers typed a reply.
Nora: [Yes, my husband is amazing.]
Nora was speechless. 'Does Aaron have to be so childish?'
Soon, Mateo called. Aaron answered but didn't speak.
"Is this Aaron?" Mateo asked.
Aaron raised an eyebrow. "You're quite smart."
"Of course! Nora isn't that childish," Mateo said.
Aaron wasn't annoyed. "So, did you call to congratulate Nora on her pregnancy?"
"Yeah, you're really something, making Nora suffer again," Mateo said.
Aaron looked at Nora and held her hand. "A single guy like you wouldn't understand this kind of pain and joy."
Mateo was momentarily speechless, his breathing noticeably heavier.
Nora could almost imagine Mateo's face turning dark with anger because of Aaron. She found it amusing.
"Alright, Honey, that's enough. Stop bullying Mateo."
Mateo heard this and gloated. "Did you hear that? Nora cares about me."
Aaron sneered. "Fine, we've received your congratulations. Now we're going to sleep. You can hang up."
Mateo scoffed, "Aaron, you're the CEO of the Gordon group. Can't you be a bit more mature? No one can take your wife away!"
Aaron snorted, "Do you have anything else to say? If not, I'm hanging up."
"Of course, I have something to say. Do you think I'm as childish as you?" Mateo said.
"Then hurry up," Aaron replied.
"Why are you so impatient? If it weren't for Nora, I wouldn't bother with you," Mateo snorted.
"Are you going to say it or not? If you don't get to the point, I'm really hanging up," Aaron said, getting impatient.
"Fine, I'll say it," Mateo replied. "My father gave me a task to find a suitable multinational corporation in Chrisland to strengthen trade relations. After thinking it over, I decided to give you the first shot."
