Chapter 349 Determined to remain chaste for Zephyr

"So, now that I've uncovered the truth, are you planning on throwing everything away?" Kenneth watched as Sandy suddenly calmed down, her expression turning cold and terrifying as she pushed her onto the couch.

"The Hernandez family has some nerve, trying to deceive us by marrying off a cursed child into the Hamilton family. Do you think we're easy to bully?" he accused.

Sandy looked into the man's frigid eyes and bit her lip, saying nothing. She hadn't wanted to marry into it, either.

But who could have foreseen that one day, while her sister was driving her out for fun, they would get into a car accident? In a critical moment, her sister at the wheel shielded her fiercely.

Her twin sister died on the spot, while she miraculously survived.

By that time, the marriage contract had already been agreed upon by both the Ebenezer and Hernandez families.

To secure family interests, her father made her marry into the Hamilton family in place of Sandy. She hadn't agreed to it at first, because she had a boyfriend whom loved each other dearly.

Her father cursed her, blaming her for her sister's death, while also using Zephyr's life as leverage.

She ultimately had no choice but to comply.

Thinking about the past, and her sister's death, Sandy's eyes reddened slightly, and she felt an immense sadness.

She had always known how vibrant and kind her sister was.

Since learning the truth from their father, Sandy would sneak into the village to see her, and take her out to have fun.

Sandy never believed that Cora was cursed.

But who would have thought that her sister would die because of her? Could it be that she really was a curse?

No wonder all her life, the grandpa who raised her never wanted her to get too close to people. And in her free time, she wasn't allowed to go out and play; she was only given a book on medicine and told to study hard at home.

It all had a reason!

Tears uncontrollably slid down her cheeks. Kenneth saw her sad demeanor and a look of pity flashed in his eyes.

But that look was fleeting, and his voice turned cold again.

"Why are you crying? Upset that your lies have been exposed and you can't move on to the next step? You and Zephyr have been meeting in secret, planning to kill me so you can inherit my estate and then run away together?" he accused.

Hearing this, Sandy sniffled, her voice hoarse, "No, I never thought that."

Kenneth looked into her misty eyes and asked, "Do you dare say that after we got married, you stopped thinking about Zephyr?"

The warm yellow light filled the room, which was incredibly quiet. Only their breathing intertwined between them.

Kenneth's dark eyes were fixed, observing her reaction.

If she just said no, he would let this matter go. He didn't care who she was, as long as she would live sincerely with him from now on.

However, Sandy bit her lip, her gaze flickering, but she said nothing.

Kenneth's expression darkened as his anger was about to burst. He grabbed her throat, his voice harsh.

He probed, "Very well! Sandy, no, I should say Cora Hernandez, do you really think you can fool me? No wonder you always find ways to avoid sharing a bed with me after we were married. Was it all to preserve yourself for Zephyr? Tell me, have you slept with him while being with me?"

He didn't hold back as he gripped Sandy's throat, almost cutting off her breath.

She slapped his hands, managing to force out a sentence. "No, I haven't been with any other man but you!" she exclaimed. Tears uncontrollably slid down her cheeks, landing on his hand, scorching his heart.

Kenneth' dark eyes steadied as he watched her tearful countenance, and eventually, he loosened his grip. Seeking confirmation, he asked, "Did you really not sleep with him?"

Then, he remembered the trace of crimson on the bed the first time they had been together. She was indeed untainted.

Sandy, coughing continuously, clasped her throat and nodded.

Her struggle had unfastened the buttons off her shirt, exposing her delicate and fair collarbone, which under the lighting looked as if it were glowing with a cold halo.

Kenneth's Ebenezer' gaze darkened further as his long arm swept her into a horizontal hold, then he tossed her onto the bed.

The large bed shook slightly with their movement.

Sandy, feeling his kisses assail her like a storm, found it unbearably distressing. She dodged slightly, "Kenneth, I'm not feeling well today."

Kenneth's breathing was heavy as he stared at her with somber intensity.

"Is your body truly unwell, or do you simply not want to Evellar to me anymore? Sandy, no matter who you are, you are my wife!" With his words, he threw aside the fabric covering her.

There was no foreplay, no caress, only a possession that was many times more brutal than before.

Sandy felt so compressed that she couldn't breathe, with a heavy feeling in her lower abdomen. He continued to demand from her body, almost crushing her with his motions.

Sandy's face turned ashen as she felt a warmth flowing from her below.

Startled, a thought flashed through her mind. "Kenneth, stop, please! I, I really feel awful!" she pleaded.

Kenneth's breath hastened as his eyes filled with shadow. At that moment, he wanted to hear nothing, care for nothing; his mind replayed the scene he had witnessed.

Zephyr dropping her off, their lingering, tender goodbye beneath the night sky seemed like such a sweet moment.

The darn woman, found out that she’s been discovered and not even bothering to plaEvella him? His rage and shouts continued recklessly until the tumult finally ceased.

His solid chest rose and fell rhythmically. A thin layer of sweat on his skin seemed almost mist-like under the steady light.

As Kenneth composed himself, his eyes fell on her face, only to find her as pale as paper, already unconscious.

Kenneth paused mid-breath, reaching out to pat her face. In a panic, he said, "Sandy, quit pretending and get up to wash up."

She didn't move, lifelessly lying in bed like a broken doll.

A wave of panic inexplicably washed over Kenneth. He remembered Sandy complaining of feeling unwell, and her heart clenched.

Hastily, he got dressed, took a set of women's clothes from the wardrobe to dress her, intending to take her to the hospital.

A glance revealed a stark contrast; the pale skin of her thigh was stained with bright red blood. Kenneth's pupils contracted—something was terribly wrong.

At Aaron's villa, Nora had settled the kids and then took a bath. Afterward, she saw Aaron sitting on the bedroom sofa waiting for her. He held the hairdryer, ready, as usual, to dry her hair.

Nora pursed her lips and tossed the dry towel aside. "I'll do it myself. You go take a shower," she remarked, coldly.

Aaron observed her cool little face and stood up to press her onto the sofa, silently starting to dry her hair. His fingertips gently moved through her hair, touching her as gently as he always made her feel.

Nora bit her lip, knowing she was unjustly angry with him because of Edric. But once her mind was made up, it was hard to change.

Aaron dried her hair and sat beside her. "Still angry?" he asked as he enveloped her in his arms, his voice as soft as water.

Nora said nothing, rising to get some water.

Aaron caught her in a grasp, pulling her onto his lap.
