Chapter 527 She Won't Succeed

Seeing Emma's emotional outburst, Ebenezer quickly said, "No, Emma, let me explain..."

"Explain what?" Emma, already seething with anger, interrupted him. "You want me to die, don't you? So, you can find a woman who looks like your first love and marry her?"

Ebenezer's face darkened, equally getting hot-headed, and said, "Don't talk nonsense!"

"It's not nonsense!" Emma pointed at Nora, saying, "Wasn't it because her mother resembled your first love that you lost control and had her?"

"You treat her so well because she looks like your first love!" Emma accused.

"You..." Ebenezer was consumed by anger.

Nora quickly helped him to the sofa. She comforted, "Dad, calm down."

Ebenezer took a deep breath, trying to compose himself.

Howard, looking at Emma's anger, helplessly said, "Mom, can you let us finish before getting angry?"

Emma remained silent, and Howard took out a report. He informed, "Nora had a blood test at the hospital a few days ago, and today we got the results. She's a match with you."

Emma was stunned, turning to Howard. "She's a match with me?" she asked.

"Yes, look," Howard said and handed the report to Emma. "And the genetic test shows that Nora is related to you."

Emma stared at the paper, her hand trembling. "Could this report be wrong?" she questioned, and continued, "Nora is my biological daughter!"

Howard replied, "Mom, the hospital is reliable. How could they make a mistake?"

Emma slowly looked at Nora, her eyes welling up. "You... are you really my daughter? My biological daughter didn't die!" she exclaimed with joy and relief.

Nora, holding back tears, was also moved. Though their relationship had always been strained,

Nora knew Emma cared deeply for her biological daughter. And she was a loving mother. Nora had once envied Suzy. Now, having such a woman as her biological mother, Nora felt a glimmer of happiness.

"I never experienced much maternal love. Will my biological mother treat me like she treated Suzy, giving me the love I've missed?" Nora remarked.

"Nora, my daughter, come here," Emma's eyes glistened with tears as she called out to her.

Ebenezer, on the sofa, told Nora, "Go."

Nora stood up and walked to Emma. Emma looked at her with joy. Then she embraced Nora.

Emma said emotionally, "Nora, my dear daughter, you are really my daughter!"

Nora, feeling her mother's embrace, felt a warmth she hadn't experienced in a long time. She had missed the experience of maternal love.

Emma held onto Nora for a while before letting go. Nora wiped away the tears from Emma's eyes, saying, "Don't cry."

Emma cried, smiled, and said, "Nora, why don't you call me Mom?"

Nora said hesitantly, "I... I don't know how to open up!"

But seeing Emma's expectant look, Nora swallowed and said, "Mom."

"My dear daughter, you've suffered so much over the years!" Emma held Nora, calling her dear daughter.

Nora's heart was soft, and as a mother herself, she could understand Emma's feelings. Nora's eyes welled up, too.

Howard, watching this heartwarming scene, had tears in his eyes. He quickly turned and saw Ebenezer's eyes were also red.

He sighed, and said, "Our family has been through a lot during this time. This is a piece of good news."

After Emma and Nora talked for a while, Ebenezer said, "Emma, why don't you sit down and talk slowly?"

"Yes, Nora, let's sit and talk," Emma said, full of smiles, held Nora's hand and sat on the sofa, instructing the servant to quickly prepare fruit and coffee.

She kept holding Nora's hand, wanting to make up for all the love she had missed.

Nora's palms were sweaty. She wanted to let go, but seeing Emma's smiling face, she didn't.

"Ebenezer, what's going on? How did that dead child become our child?" Emma couldn't help but ask.

Ebenezer replied, "I'm not sure. I've had someone look into it."

Emma nodded, looked at Nora, and asked, "Nora, you've been living in the Smith villa all these years, right?"

"Yes," Nora replied.

"I heard that your mother, or rather, the previous Mrs. Smith, passed away, and then the current Mrs. Smith from the Smith family must have made things difficult for you, right?" Emma asked.

"I'm fine," Nora replied indirectly.

Emma snorted, "How could I not know about the schemes of wealthy families? You must have suffered a lot over the years."

Nora smiled and did not deny it.

Emma continued, "I heard you gave birth to three children whose fathers you didn't know."

Nora nodded, also not denying it.

Listening to Emma's understanding of Nora, Ebenezer frowned, and asked, "Emma, how do you know so much? Who told you?"

She lost six months of memory, so she shouldn't have known anything related to Nora.

Emma looked at him but remained silent.

"Did Suzy tell you?" Ebenezer asked.

Emma said, "I pestered her until she told me."

Ebenezer snorted, "With her personality, she must have tried to sow discord between you and Nora, right?"

Emma smiled awkwardly, thinking, 'Suzy has cursed Nora many times in front of her! I really hated Nora before I knew she was my biological daughter. But everything has changed.'

Emma assured, "Don't worry, Nora is my biological daughter. I won't listen to Suzy in the future."

Ebenezer glared at her and scolded, "Just because she's not your biological daughter, you think you can bully her? Don't you know right from wrong!"

Emma felt a bit embarrassed being scolded by him. "Ebenezer, do you have to scold me in front of our daughter?" she complained.

Ebenezer said, "You made a mistake, and I'm pointing it out."

Emma stared at him, feeling both shy and angry. Nora was a little nervous, afraid that they would start another argument.

Nora called out to her, "Mom."

Emma said, "I'm happy today, I won't be angry with you!"
