Chapter 664 Cheating Behind Your Back
Nora's eyes flickered slightly as she told a small lie.
"I haven't had a chance to explore the mountains near the Jones family estate, so last night, I asked Alex and Erin to accompany me there. Maybe my phone lost signal in the mountains."
Howard gave Nora a probing look. "Aaron didn't go with you to the Jones family?"
Nora lowered her eyes and continued eating. "No, he was busy last night."
Howard squinted. "You didn't fight with him?"
As soon as he said this, the other two looked at Nora.
Nora smiled. "No, we're great."
She and Aaron had just gone through a life-and-death ordeal, and their relationship was stronger than ever!
Seeing her say this, Howard didn't ask any more questions.
The group quietly continued eating.
After finishing the meal, Evella rubbed her stomach, looking like she was about to collapse.
"Richard, please don't bring me any more food tomorrow. I really can't take it. If I keep eating like this, I'll have a big appetite!"
Richard smiled. "So what if you do? You're rich now, and you won't go broke from eating."
"But I'll get fat! I don't want to become a pig!" Evella pouted.
"Afraid of getting fat? Worried someone will dislike you?"
Richard glanced at Howard meaningfully.
This was definitely said for Howard's ears.
Howard quickly said, "Gaining a little weight will be good for you. Evella, you're too skinny now, and you need to eat more."
Richard was very pleased with Howard's response today.
Seeing Evella's expression, Richard deliberately said, "Evella, your school sells coffee, right? Didn't you say the coffee there is better than the ones outside? Want me to get you a cup?"
Evella's eyes lit up, but then she quickly shook her head. "No, I don't want any more."
A cup of latte would make her gain weight even faster.
"Aren't you thirsty? The body needs water the most. Without it, your skin will turn yellow," Richard said deliberately.
Evella licked her lips, struggled for a moment, and was quickly convinced by Richard's words.
"Well, one cup will be okay."
Nora couldn't help but laugh.
Richard was too cunning.
He knew Evella's love for food and was determined to make her gain weight!
Even knowing she'd gain weight, Evella couldn't resist the temptation of delicious food.
"I'll go get it. Nora, do you want one?" Howard was ready to serve the ladies today.
"No, I'm not thirsty." Nora said.
"You have to drink! Nora, drink with me!" Evella shouted.
Nora raised an eyebrow. "Evella, are you afraid of getting fat alone? You want to drag me along, right?"
"Nora, even if you see through it, don't say it out loud."
Evella laughed, her eyes sparkling.
Howard got up to buy the coffee. Richard glanced at Nora and said to Evella, "Evella, since you're so full, take a walk. Go with Howard to get the coffee."
He had something to say to Nora alone.
"You're right. I'm going."
"Howard, wait for me."Evella got up and called out to Howard.
Howard stopped and waited for her, then took her hand.
The two seemed to be talking about something.
Evella rubbed her stomach, probably complaining.
Howard turned his head and smiled at her, his eyes full of tenderness.
They looked like a couple in love, making others want to fall in love, too.
"Ms. Smith, as for the car accident, I will give Mr. Gordon an explanation," Richard suddenly spoke up.
Nora withdrew her gaze and nodded. "Alright, we'll be waiting for your good news."
They were all involved, and if Richard could dig deeper, that would be even better. Richard would definitely be able to find out who was behind it all.
Richard then asked for more details about the scene of Aaron's car accident. Nora told Richard everything she knew to help him uncover the truth.
They talked about the accident until Howard and Evella returned with two cups of latte.
"Sis, here you are."
Howard poked a straw into the latte and handed it to Nora.
"Thanks, Howard."
Nora rarely drank latte, not because she was afraid of gaining weight but because it kept her up at night.
Every time she drank it, she would get very hyper.
But she did have cravings sometimes.
Now, even though she knew she might have trouble sleeping that night, she decided to indulge her craving.
"Nora, drinking this will make you gain weight!" Evella said with a mischievous smile as if she had found a partner in crime.
Nora laughed. "Yes, but I've already had kids, so I'm not worried about gaining weight."
Evella blinked. "I'm not worried about gaining weight either. I'm naturally slim!"
Nora raised an eyebrow and took out her phone to snap a picture of Evella.
Evella was puzzled. "Nora, why are you taking my picture?"
Nora replied, "I'll check back in a month to see if you look any different."
Evella blinked and smiled. "There will definitely be a difference. You'll see that I'm getting more beautiful!"
Nora teased. "Because of love?"
Evella blushed a little. "Nora, you're making fun of me again!"
As they joked, Howard glanced at the time and said, "I need to get back to the hospital. I have a surgery this afternoon."
Hearing this, the smile on Evella's face faded slightly. "Then you should go. If you have surgery in the afternoon, don't run around. Get some rest."
Evella was concerned for him!
Howard's eyes twinkled with amusement. "I know what I'm doing."
Being in love seemed to fill him with energy, so missing a nap wasn't a big deal.
Of course, the main reason was that Howard wanted to spend more time with Evella.
He was afraid that if he neglected her because of his job, she might leave him for someone else!
"Evella, Richard, I'll be off."
Nora stood up, said goodbye to the two, and followed Howard out of the school.
"Nora, if you're free, come to the hospital with me. There's an interesting case I'd like to discuss with you," Howard said.
"Sure."
Apart from performing a major surgery for Ruth at Lumirians, Nora hadn't encountered any interesting cases since the beginning of the year. She was yearning to get back to work.
"Then let's take my car."
Howard took out his car keys and unlocked the car.
Nora didn't object and got into the passenger seat. Just as she fastened her seatbelt, her phone chimed with a message notification.
Nora took a look and saw it was a message from Becky.
She opened it to find several photos.
The photos showed a man and a woman passionately kissing by a window. Judging by their backs, they seemed to be in a hotel.
Nora squinted and zoomed in on the image, only to find that the woman in the photo was Betsy and the man...
Suddenly, her phone was snatched from her hand.
Howard saw the photos and frowned, finding them hard to believe. The man in the photos was Aaron!
"Nora, Aaron actually cheated on you behind your back!"
