Chapter 759 Did He Cheat?
"Nothing much, give me two more Bloody Marys," Jenny burped, asking the bartender for more drinks.
The bartender heard her and started mixing drinks for Jenny.
Nora looked at Jenny's flushed face and furrowed her brows. "Jenny, are you feeling upset?"
Jenny finished the last bit of alcohol in her glass. "Of course not. I'm feeling great!"
Nora could see she must be lying.
Nora turned Jenny's body towards her.
"Jenny, look at me, tell me, what's going on? Did you fight with Edric?"
At the mention of Edric's name, a hint of grievance flashed in Jenny's eyes.
She pushed Nora's hand away without a word.
At that moment, the bartender handed over the mixed drink.
Jenny picked up the glass and took another big sip.
Nora said, "Jenny, slow down; this is alcohol, not water."
It seemed like she guessed right.
Jenny did fight with Edric.
Was it because Edric was seeing another woman again?
Nora still remembered the scene when Edric was caught meeting his ex-girlfriend Anna in Lindwood City.
Later, she found out there was nothing between Edric and Anna, and the matter ended there.
Could it be that another Anna had appeared now?
"Nora, I'm so tired."
Jenny shook her head, a hint of distress in her eyes.
"What's wrong? Don't leave me hanging, spill it out quickly." Nora asked.
Jenny took another sip of her drink and said, "Edric's mother doesn't like me. Even though we've been married for half a year, and she knows we're legally married, she keeps trying to introduce women to him."
Nora was shocked and speechless.
"Why is his mother doing this? You two are married; why is she trying to introduce women to Edric? What does she want?" Nora said.
"Of course, she wants me to leave Edric on my own." Jenny smiled bitterly.
Nora felt sorry for her, realizing how difficult these past six months must have been for Jenny.
"Who are these women that his mother is introducing to Edric?" Nora asked.
"They are all wealthy heiresses," Jenny replied.
Nora was speechless. "Shouldn't these wealthy heiresses know that Edric is already married? Why would they agree to be mistresses?"
Jenny shook her head. "The Bishop family holds a prominent position in Youston, and Edric is attractive. Many women want to be associated with him. Because of Edric's mother's encouragement, these wealthy heiresses are not afraid of being labeled mistresses."
That made sense.
In the end, it was because of Fiona's interference that these women acted so boldly.
"Just last week, when Edric went on a business trip to Fchilia, a woman followed him, and I even received photos of them entering and leaving the hotel together."
Jenny gripped her glass tightly, a hint of annoyance in her eyes.
The photos were sent to her by Fiona.
Fiona was truly malicious.
This was pushing Jenny to the limit, making her consider divorcing Edric directly!
Nora furrowed her brows even more.
"Have you asked Edric if he really betrayed you?" Nora asked.
Jenny shook her head. "I didn't ask."
"Why didn't you ask?" Nora added.
"Because suddenly I found it pointless."
Jenny looked dejected, picked up another glass of drink, and took a big sip.
Nora looked at her intently and took her glass away.
"Jenny, look at me. Do you remember when we encountered Anna?"
Jenny's eyes were slightly red, looking at Nora without saying a word.
Nora continued, "When faced with Anna's entanglement, I advised you to think carefully about whether you want to be with Edric. You said you believed in Edric's feelings for you. If that's the case, why do you suddenly find it pointless now? Do you no longer love him?"
Tears welled up in Jenny's eyes, her eyes blurred.
Nora felt sorry for her and handed her some tissues.
Jenny wiped away her tears and said, "I do love him, but marriage is not just between Edric and me. Nora, being a wealthy wife is really difficult."
Nora agreed with her.
Indeed, marriage is not merely a union between two individuals, but a bond between two families.
That was why people tend to marry someone of the same social class.
When both families were of the same social status, their class values aligned.
Of course, in Nora's view, this wasn't a big issue.
Even if they came from different social classes, things could still be worked out.
But being a wealthy wife was truly challenging.
Even Nora herself might have had the same thoughts as Jenny without the status of the Hamilton family heiress.
Especially when facing an unreasonable mother-in-law, there was a sense of suffocation.
"Jenny, do you live with Fiona?" Nora asked.
It was better to live separately when things weren't going well with Fiona.
It would reduce that suffocating feeling.
"We don't live together."
Jenny shook her head. "But recently Fiona hasn't been feeling well, so Edric has been staying with his parents a lot to take care of her. And that woman has also been staying with them during this time."
Nora was shocked. "What are you saying? Why is that woman also staying with Edric's parents?"
Jenny sighed, "That woman is Ursula, who came back to visit Fiona with her aunt. Ursula's aunt is good friends with Fiona, so they've been staying at the Bishop family's villa."
Jenny paused. "They said they were visiting Fiona, but I feel like Fiona and Ursula's aunt are secretly trying to matchmake Edric and Ursula. Nora, I'm really feeling exhausted."
So that was the case!
Fiona was really going too far.
Nora looked at Jenny's tired face and encouraged her, "Jenny, you have to pull yourself together. No matter what, you are now the legitimate wife of the Bishop family and Edric. Since Edric is staying with his parents, you can also move in with them. You have to stand up for yourself!"
Jenny shook her head. "But sometimes I have to accompany artists to events; I can't always keep track of his whereabouts. Besides, if I keep monitoring Edric like this, it's exhausting for both of us."
Nora pursed her lips, thinking it over.
It was true that constantly worrying and suspecting would drive her to the brink of collapse in no time.
In the end, it was up to Edric's self-awareness.
And Edric, he didn't seem like a good man, always attracting women!
Nora's opinion of Edric had never really improved.
After all, five years ago, Edric sent someone to Aaron's room.
Although it indirectly led to her and Aaron's good fortune, it didn't change her view of Edric.
This Edric was a player!
If it were up to Nora's previous temper, she might have advised Jenny to break up with Edric directly.
But marriage was not a game, and you couldn't just break up on a whim.
Since Jenny and Edric were already married, as bystanders, she could only advise reconciliation.
The premise was that Edric hadn't made a fundamental mistake.
Nora was about to speak when someone approached.
