Chapter 75 Already Slept Together

Aaron furrowed his brows at her sudden rebuke.

"Didn't I tell you to take it easy? Yet here you are, climbing up the stairs. Mr. Gordon, if you're not going to follow the doctor's orders, you do not need to stay here; you're just wasting my efforts!" Nora vented, visibly irritated.
Aaron's expression turned icy.

He hadn't expected to be berated after nursing her all night.
The children were shocked, too; their mom rarely got this upset.

Alex tried to calm her, "Mom, don't be mad; Mr. Gordon was just concerned about you."

Billy added, "Yeah, Mom, remember what you said about fevers frying brains? Good thing Mr. Gordon checked on you."
Samantha said, "Mom, don't be mean to Mr. Gordon, please. He's so pitiful."

Their pleading eyes softened Nora's tone.
She glanced at the time and softened her voice, "It's getting late for school; let me take you, kids."

"Noe, you take the kids to school," Aaron interjected, his voice cold.

Noe quickly agreed and gathered the children's backpacks.

"Mom, you should rest. Let Noe take us to school today," said Alex.

Nora looked at Aaron, noticing his upset demeanor.

She knew she'd been harsh but she didn't regret scolding him.

Who did he think he was, making decisions on his own?

Samantha moved close to Aaron and whispered, "Mr. Gordon, Mom's mad, but she's soft-hearted. Just charm her, and she'll be fine."
Aaron remained silent, his jaw tightening.

He had cared forof her all night, only to be scolded in the morning. And now, he was expected to coddle her? That didn't sit right with him.

"I'll drop the kids off at school," Noe said, breaking the morning stillness.

"Thanks," Nora replied, watching Noe drive away with the three kids.

The house settled into quiet.

Nora glanced at Aaron, who was focused on his computer and cleared her throat. "Thanks for last night."

She didn't regret calling him out but knew a deserved thanks was in order.

Aaron's response dripped with sarcasm. "Wow, what a heartfelt thanks," he said, snapping his laptop shut and maneuvering his wheelchair towards the bedroom.

Nora exhaled, watching his retreating, and followed.

Aaron had barely slept the whole night. Now, not only did his legs hurt, but his head pounded just as badly.

Rubbing his temples, he winced slightly at the throbbing pain.

Noticing his discomfort, Nora moved closer and massaged his shoulders, easing some tension that allowed Aaron to close his eyes comfortably.

He leaned back in his chair, the tension in his body easing somewhat.

Nora observed his weary features and softened at the thought of Noe's words—Aaron had cared for her throughout the night.
"I'm sorry for snapping at you earlier," she said with a touch of guilt.

His legs were healing, albeit slowly.

She had been anxious, fearing all their progress might be undone.

Aaron stayed quiet, so she continued massaging him. "I was harsh, but I had to make sure you didn't overdo it."

With his eyes still closed, Aaron finally spoke, "So you'd rather no one cared for you when you're sick?"

Nora fell silent.

"Don't worry," Nora said, playfully adopting a mocking tone, "Even if I do get delirious, I won't forget my medical skills and how to take care of you."

Aaron finally spoke, "Guess I was just meddling."
Stopping her massage, Nora squatted in front of him, her voice softer now. "I thanked you already. Let's move on. Now, let me check your leg."
His gaze softened as Aaron looked down at her, touching his leg.

This woman was tough yet gentle.

"Tell me, where else do you feel discomfort?" Nora asked, her face serious as she took on her professional demeanor.

"There's a general weakness: my headaches, my hands hurt, my legs hurt," Aaron confessed in a low voice.

Nora nodded and continued to work on his leg. "Headache's probably from lack of sleep, and leg pain's from overdoing it. But what's up with your hands hurting?"

Her clear eyes filled with confusion, prompting Aaron to raise an eyebrow.

"Nora, you treated me like a giant teddy bear last night, hugging and clinging and using me as a pillow; what do you expect?”
Nora was silent. She wondered, "How did she know he would run into her room?"

"From now on, you're not allowed in my room without my permission," Nora said with a flush of embarrassment, her voice a mix of annoyance and coyness.

The look on her face was enough to make Aaron's heart skip a beat.

"Nora, after sharing a bed together, warning me to stay out of your room seems a bit pointless, doesn't it?" he teased.

Nora remained quiet.

"I'm telling you, no going to work today; you need to rest up. Did you hear me?" she said, changing the subject as she stood up and gave him a stern look.

Aaron raised an eyebrow and simply responded, "Got it."

Nora insisted once more, "You have to follow my orders."

"Okay."

In the car, the three kids in the back wore worried expressions.

"Hey, do you guys think Mom and Mr. Gordon will fight again?" Samantha couldn't help but ask.

The brothers exchanged glances, but neither one spoke.

They were worried, too.

Mom could be pretty scary when she got angry!

"Don't worry, I'm sure they won't fight again. They care about each other. Nora blew up earlier because she was concerned about Mr. Gordon's health," Noe tried to reassure them.

Samantha blinked her big eyes, "If they both care about each other, does that mean they like each other?"

Noe was taken aback, at a loss for words.

He wasn't sure how Nora felt about their CEO.

But it was different from the way their CEO felt about Nora.

The CEO probably liked Nora!

Although Noe admired Nora's personality, there was a status gap between her and CEO.

Once the CEO's leg healed, he would probably leave.

"I'm not sure about that."

Noe gave a noncommittal response and dropped the kids off at school.

Watching them enter the building, he couldn't help but feel a twinge of regret.

He quite liked the idea of their CEO being with Nora.

These five people seemed like a truly loving family.

Noe started the car, thought for a moment, and decided to call Nora.

"Nora, Mr. Gordon insisted on going upstairs last night, his leg isn't further damaged, is it?"

At that moment, Nora was on her way to the hospital.

"Mr. Wilson, I was about to call you. I'm almost at Central Hospital; if it's convenient, let's talk in person," she said.

"Alright."

Noe agreed and headed to the hospital.

Once they met up, Nora handed Noe a sticky note.
"Mr. Wilson, I've got an herbal remedy simmering in the kitchen. Follow the steps I wrote—keep the heat right," instructed Nora.

Noe quickly took the note, "Got it. Anything else I should keep an eye on?"

"The most important thing is to watch over him. Make sure he chills and stays put today," Nora added.

Noe nodded, "Nora, Mr. Gordon's insistence on going upstairs last night was out of concern for you. I've never seen him care for someone else like this besides his grandfather."
