Chapter 545 Going to Find Alex

Matthew used Sandy as bait. It was simply too tempting.

Nora sat there dazed, clutching her phone, her thoughts in disarray.

At that moment, her phone rang again. This time, it was Aaron calling.

Nora slowly answered the call.

Nora greeted, "Hello?"

He answered, "Nora, did you just call me? What's up?" Aaron's gentle voice came through.

Nora bit her lip, unsure of how to start.

"Why aren't you saying anything? What's wrong?"
Aaron asked. sounding worried.

Nora swallowed. And revealed, "Aaron, Alex was taken by Matthew."

Hearing this, Aaron asked, "Why did he take Alex?"

"He said I owe him a favor and gave me two choices. He said either I marry him, or he'll make Alex his live-in son-in-law," Nora said with difficulty.

Aaron's breath hitched, his tone turning icy.

"He's shameless. This is emotional blackmail! Nora, don't worry about this. I won't let you marry him, nor will I let Alex become his live-in son-in-law. I'll go get Alex back right now!" Aaron declared.

Nora opened her mouth to say something, but Aaron hung up before she could.

Nora sat in the car, stunned, until Ebenezer called, asking about Alex's disappearance, snapping her back to reality. She realized she had forgotten to inform Adelbert.

She thought they must still be looking for the kids.

Nora said, "Dad, tell Grandpa there's no need to look for them anymore. Alex and Erin are fine. They were just taken back to the Jones Manor by Matthew."

She didn't tell Ebenezer the whole truth, fearing it would cause more trouble.

She just wanted to take a moment to think about what to do next.

"Why didn't he inform us before taking the kids? How rude of him," Ebenezer sighed with relief but then criticized.

Nora smiled wryly, and replied, "He probably had something urgent."

After a few more words, Nora hung up.

Her feelings were conflicted. She took a deep breath and drove home.

At that moment, Emma was sitting on the sofa watching TV.

Seeing Nora return, she quickly asked, "Nora, what's going on?"

Nora smiled, and said, "It's nothing serious. Mom, I'll go upstairs first and talk later."

She wasn't in the mood to explain to Emma right now. She was contemplating whether to go to the Jones Manor with Aaron.

Nora went to her room and called Aaron.

But Aaron's phone was already off.

Had he gone to the Jones Manor to find Alex?

Did he know where the Jones Manor was?

Meanwhile, Aaron, using the information Noe had found, was on a private plane heading to the Jones Manor.

The information didn't specify the exact location of the Jones Manor, only that it was near the Nim River.

The plane landed on a hill.

Aaron got off the plane and looked out. The entire mountain was grand.
Hidden within this mountain was a large manor.

This must be Matthew's territory.

Aaron, with a stern face, tried to call Matthew, but there was no signal.

It was too remote here.

Aaron, his face dark, looked around and then, gritting his teeth, threw his jacket to Noe and prepared to climb a tree.

"Mr. Gordon, what are you doing?" Noe quickly asked.

Aaron replied, "Looking for a signal."

"Mr. Gordon, let me do it," Noe said hastily.

Aaron glanced at him, and asked, "Then, can you climb the tree?"

Noe was helpless.

He was just an assistant, not capable of such things!

"Mr. Gordon, there's a higher ground over there. Should we try there?" Noe suggested, pointing to a protruding rock not far away.

Aaron gave him a look, said nothing, and started climbing the tree.

Noe looked up, surprised by Aaron's agility.

Aaron was quite nimble!

Noe felt he couldn't do it himself!

Aaron climbed to the middle of the tree and took out his phone. There was finally a faint signal.

He dialed Matthew's number with a stern face.

The call was quickly answered as if the other party had been waiting.

Aaron said coldly, "Your guest has arrived. Aren't you coming out to greet me?"
Matthew chuckled softly, and teased, "Mr. Gordon, you're impressive. Climbing a tree just to make a call!"

Aaron was frustrated.

Matthew knew exactly what he was doing!

This was the Jones family's territory, surely surrounded by surveillance.

"Hurry up," Aaron said angrily.

"Hold on," Matthew replied calmly, not bothered by Aaron's attitude.

Soon, two men in black appeared, bowing respectfully to Aaron, who had just climbed down from the tree.

One of the men in black said, "Mr. Gordon, Mr. Jones invites you in."

Aaron responded coldly and saw one of the men hand him an electric skateboard.

Aaron was speechless for a moment.

They even had this?

Were they expecting him to ride the skateboard into the Jones Manor?

It seemed there was still quite a distance to the manor from here.

Aaron pursed his lips, took the skateboard, and asked, seeing that the two men didn't have one, "Don't you need this?"

One of the men said respectfully, "We don't need it. Mr. Gordon, please follow us."

With that, the two men turned and headed towards a dense forest.

They were very agile and moved quickly.

They soon ran about 65 feet ahead.

Aaron squinted, realizing these two were quite skilled.

"Mr. Gordon, what about me?" Noe asked, seeing there was only one skateboard.

Aaron was silent for a moment. He then instructed, "You stay here. If I haven't brought Alex out of the Jones Manor by tonight, contact our men and prepare to besiege the Jones family."

He didn't want to start a fight with Matthew, but if Matthew was too stubborn, he couldn't let it slide.

"Yes," Noe responded.

Aaron didn't delay any longer, got on the skateboard, and entered the forest.

The two bodyguards led the way.

Aaron felt like he had entered a fairy tale world.

Although there were no flowers, only large green plants, it was like a maze, making it hard to discern the way.

After about ten minutes of sliding, his view finally opened up.

Aaron saw the manor gates.

There were no guards outside. But as the bodyguards approached, the iron gates slowly opened.

One of the bodyguards said, "Mr. Gordon, please."

The bodyguards indicated for Aaron to return the skateboard.

Aaron straightened his clothes and followed one of the bodyguards inside.

The design of the Jones Manor was intricate.

There were streams and small bridges in the manor, and the scenery was beautiful.

Aaron wasn't in the mood to admire the scenery. Following the bodyguard for another ten minutes, he finally reached the front hall of the manor.

The front hall was furnished with high-quality tables and chairs.

Matthew sat in the middle, with Alex and Erin on chairs beside him.

They were waiting for Aaron's arrival.
