Chapter 653 He Needed To Leave Here Quickly

Noe choked up, daring not to speak.

Nora, beside him, couldn't help but laugh out loud. She said, "Alright, Aaron, stop teasing him. Can't you see he's about to cry?"

Noe glanced at Nora, restraining himself from feeling grateful that she spoke up for him. Because he was familiar with this kind of talk, he was afraid that Nora would turn the conversation around and tease him again.

Indeed, Nora spoke up again, "Noe, it's time to prioritize your major life events; balancing work and life is the key to a fulfilling life."

Noe prepared himself to be teased, but her words sounded okay, devoid of the mockery he expected

Just as he was about to speak, Nora said, "I think Seraphina is a nice person. If she really wants to leave here, why don't you try to date her?"

Noe was speechless.

He withdrew his sense of gratitude; he shouldn't have any illusions about these two people!

"Mr. Gordon, Dr. Smith, it's getting light out; let's go find Alex and Erin." Noe quickly changed the subject and led the way forward.

As he watched him flee, a hint of amusement flashed in Aaron's eyes. He said, "Noe, why are you running so fast? Is Seraphina waiting for you ahead?"

Noe's body stiffened, and there was a look of helplessness on his face.

He needed to leave here quickly! It was better at the Jones family! Without Aaron around, he could be the king!
Aaron and Nora behind him supported each other, exchanging a knowing smile.

Thinking of something, Nora asked, "Aaron, do you think Elara will make things difficult for us again?"

At the mention, the smile on Aaron's face faded slightly. He said, "She's the future Chieftain; as she said, as long as we spend a night in the woods, she'll consider my debt to her repaid and let us go. She shouldn't go back on her word."

He hoped so.

Nora nodded and said, "If Elara finds out that it was Seraphina who helped us leave the woods smoothly, I wonder if she will punish Seraphina?"

Aaron thought of Elara's domineering personality. After Seraphina release him from the house, Elara even slapped her. He frowned slightly and said, "It's hard to say. But at least Elara and Seraphina are sisters; she shouldn't be too harsh on Seraphina, right?"

Nora sighed. "So, can twins have such different personalities?"

Aaron glanced at her and said, "Think about Alex and Billy; their personalities are very different."

That was true.

Mentioning Alex and Billy, Nora couldn't help but think of the children's biological father.

Her heart skipped a beat involuntarily.

At this moment, she just wanted to go back with Aaron quickly and then have him and the children undergo a genetic comparison! But she shouldn't get too excited, lest she would be disappointed.

Suppressing her fluctuating emotions, Nora looked at Noe, who was walking ahead and started a discussion with Aaron. "Aaron, do you think Noe and Seraphina have a chance?"

Aaron raised an eyebrow, asking, "What do you think?"

Nora looked up at the sky and said, "Is Cupid here? Shoot an arrow!"

She smiled, charming and cute.

Aaron was amused by her, reached out, and ruffled her hair, his tone extremely indulgent. "Nora, how can you be so cute!"

Nora blinked and said, "Is it because no one loves me?"

Aaron chuckled, reaching out to embrace her slender waist. "How could that be? I just want to hide you away so no one else can see you!"

Nora said, "But people say that if a woman isn't pretty or sexy, she can only be described as cute."

Aaron said, "That's a fallacy spoken by someone with no life experience."

Nora asked, "So, have you had countless experiences with women?"

Aaron said, "Honey, don't set traps for me; I might have a heart attack trying to get out of it!"

The two joked all the way, in good spirits, heading towards the direction of the Lumirians.

At this moment, Frederick who had stayed up all night, was already out of his residence, gazing into the distance on the road.

When he saw the three people appear in his line of sight, he perked up and hurried over. "Mr. Gordon, Dr. Smith, Noe!"

He looked the three of them up and down, wanting to say something but hesitating.

Frederick had always been tough but not talkative.

Although he didn't say anything at the moment, his expression of concern was evident.

Aaron naturally understood him, so he patted his shoulder and said gently, "Don't worry, we're all fine."

Frederick visibly sighed in relief.

"Frederick, where are Alex and Erin?" Nora asked.

"They're still asleep; Ronald is watching over them," Frederick replied.

"Alright, let's go," Aaron said, and the group headed to the room where Alex and Erin were staying.

It was a two-story building.

Inside the house, Ruth, who had just undergone surgery, had already been settled in.

Elara had Lumirian doctor Tyler Young look after her for further treatment.

Nora went to check on Ruth's condition first.

Tyler recognized her and respectfully called out, "Dr. Smith."

Nora and Tyler nodded slightly, and she sat by Ruth's bedside to check her pulse.

Although Ruth's pulse was weak, her condition was good, and she was expected to wake up today barring any unforeseen circumstances.

"She should wake up today. Follow the prescription I wrote for her, and if there are any problems, you can call me," Nora said, handing her phone number to Tyler.

"Okay." Tyler carefully kept Nora's phone number as if it were a treasure, then tentatively asked, "Dr. Smith, if we encounter any medical issues in the future, can we consult you?"

"Of course." Nora smiled slightly.

Tyler was somewhat excited and said, "Thank you."

Nora didn't say anything more; she left Ruth's room and went upstairs to the room where Alex and Erin were staying.

At this moment, the Jones family's bodyguard, Ronald Lewis, was standing outside.

Because there weren't enough rooms, the two children were sleeping in one room.

Nora gently pushed the door open and saw Alex and Erin sleeping soundly, side by side.

These were her son and daughter-in-law!

Nora looked at Alex and Erin's rosy and innocent faces, their gentle features, and she found herself liking them more and more.

She didn't have the heart to wake them up, but she softly called out, "Alex, Erin, wake up."

Alex stirred, groggily sitting up. "Mommy."

"Get up; we need to leave here," Nora said.

Alex rubbed his eyes, sleepily asking, "Is it morning?"

Nora nodded. "Yes."

"Has Uncle Aaron come back safely, too?"

"Yes."

Alex sighed in relief, seeing Erin still asleep; he shook Erin's fair little arm and said, "Erin, wake up."

Erin reluctantly opened her eyes, looking a bit dizzy.

Nora looked at Erin's soft and cute little face; her heart was soft.

"Erin, come to Mommy." She lifted Erin from the bed, kissed her little cheek, and said softly, "It's morning; we'll sleep on the plane later."

Erin nodded, and since she wasn't fully awake, she hugged Nora's neck again, resting her head on her shoulder and closing her eyes.

Nora wrapped her coat around Erin's body and carried her out.

Alex put on his clothes and followed them out.

Ronald followed behind the three of them as they went downstairs.

Downstairs, Elara's servant Jessica Rivera approached, saying, "Mr. Gordon, Ms. Everhart would like to see you all."
