Chapter 640 Entering the Mountains

Aaron said, "Elara, the one who owes you a life is me; it has nothing to do with my girlfriend. If you want me to repay the favor, then why not take my life..."

"Alright, we agree," Nora interrupted Aaron's words in time.

Aaron swallowed, his brows furrowed. He said, "Nora, I don't want you to accompany me on this risky venture."

Nora smiled gently and said, "As long as I'm with you, I'm not afraid of any danger."

She was only afraid of being separated from Aaron again.

Nobody knew how she managed to cope when she found out that Aaron at home was an impostor.

She really feared losing Aaron forever, never seeing him again.

Fortunately, Aaron was safe and sound. At this moment, she just wanted to hold Aaron's hand tightly and never let go.

Aaron understood the emotions in her eyes and smiled, saying, "Alright, I'll listen to you."

They were affectionate.

Elara watched this scene with a hint of envy in her heart.

Although she was the future Chieftain and there were plenty of men vying for her attention,  no one had stirred her heart as much as Aaron had. She had never seen a couple like him and Nora before.

Suddenly, Elara thought that Aaron would be with Nora forever.

And this might be what they were thinking at this moment.

Elara pursed her lips tightly, suppressing the tumultuous emotions in her heart.

She added, "Now that you've agreed, then go."

She wanted to see if Aaron and Nora's actions matched their words!

"Mr. Gordon, I'll accompany you and Dr. Smith." Noe looked worried, wanting to go into the mountains with the two of them.

Elara's voice turned cold. "Only the two of them are allowed to enter the mountains."

Noe glanced at her, saying angrily, "You have gone too far!"

Elara remained silent, completely disregarding Noe.

Aaron said, "It's okay, Noe, Frederick, take care of Alex and Erin for us. Wait for us to come out of the mountains tomorrow, and we'll go home together."

Although he appeared confident, everyone present had furrowed brows, showing signs of worry.

"Mommy." Alex, with a serious expression, seemed to want to take the two away forcibly.

As long as he made a call to the Jones family, they could send a military force immediately.

However, Nora clearly wanted to resolve this peacefully. She didn't want Aaron to owe Elara a favor, and it would be best to repay this favor immediately.

So Nora patted Alex's head and smiled, saying, "Alex, don't worry about us; we'll be fine."

"But..."

"Take care of Erin."

Nora interrupted Alex and said to the Chieftain, "Chieftain, Please take care of my two children and a few friends tonight."

Deborah's original intention was to let them go. But Elara was the future Chieftain, and when she spoke, Deborah naturally couldn't refute her in public.

Furthermore, with Aaron and Nora's agreement, Deborah was happy to watch the show.

It had been a long time since there was such excitement in Lumirians, and Deborah also wanted to see whether Aaron and Nora could safely come out of the mountains.

Deborah said, "Dr. Smith, please rest assured. They are my guests; I will see to their accommodations."

She said they were guests, but Lumirians' way of hospitality was not commendable!

Nora silently criticized but didn't show it on her face. She held onto Aaron and said, "Let's go."

"Okay," Aaron responded and instructed Frederick, "Frederick, take good care of Alex and Erin."

"Mr. Gordon, rest assured," Frederick replied solemnly.

Elara had two Lumirians follow Aaron and Nora to witness them entering the back mountains.

Noe and Frederick both looked at Elara with cold eyes.

Elara ignored their gazes and watched Aaron and Nora walk away.

"Elara, arrange for them to stay," Deborah ordered.

Deborah had been waiting outside the operating room all afternoon, unable to hide her fatigue.
Now that things were settled, she left.

Elara was not in a good mood. After hearing Deborah's command, she glanced at Seraphina.

Usually, Seraphina handled these miscellaneous matters.

At this moment, however, Seraphina was staring blankly in the direction Aaron and Nora had left.

Thinking that Seraphina didn't follow her orders because of Aaron, Elara became angrier, and she pulled a long face.

"You can stay at my house tonight; it's just ahead." Kimberly's voice rang out as she reached out to take Alex.

Seeing this, Frederick stepped in front of her in time, his expression blank and somewhat stern.

Kimberly blinked, looking up at him in a daze, a little startled.

Elara came to her senses, glanced at Kimberly, then at Alex, squinting.

She said, "You'll stay at Kimberly's house tonight."

Kimberly seemed to have taken a liking to Alex.

Seraphina only returned to her senses after Aaron and Nora were out of sight, speaking gently, "I'll take you there."

"Seraphina, you don't have to worry about it. Kimberly, take the guests to your house; I'll have Emily Thompson come over to help," Elara said coldly.

"Let's go," Suzy said.

Alex was very worried about Nora and Aaron; his heart was completely focused on them. But since things had come to this point, he could only settle down first.

Seraphina looked at Elara's indifferent face and bit her lip, saying, "Elara."

"Don't call me Elara," Elara said coldly, turning and walking back home.

Seraphina stood still, feeling upset and conflicted.

She was both uncomfortable with Elara's attitude towards her and worried about Aaron and Nora's safety.

The back mountains were very dangerous.

"Are you Seraphina?" Suddenly, a voice sounded in her ear.

Seraphina was startled, turning to see Noe standing beside her. She smoothed her hair and nodded lightly. "Yes."

Noe looked at the five finger marks on half of her face and asked, "Did Elara hit you hard?"

Seraphina touched her face and lowered her eyes without speaking.

Noe couldn't help but say, "Elara is really brutal."

Seraphina furrowed her brows slightly, speaking gently, "Don't say that. No matter what, she's my sister."

Noe looked at her and said, "You are overly protective of your sister."

Seraphina denied, "No, I'm not."

Noe said, "But you put your sister first in everything."

Seraphina understood and said, "Elara is smarter and more outstanding than me, so of course, I put her first."

Noe was speechless. He said, "But in my opinion, you have better judgment than her."

This was half praise and half coaxing because Seraphina looked exactly like Elara and did indeed have a different temperament from Elara, as Aaron had said.

Seraphina was kind-hearted, so he had to coax some words out of her.

"Let's go; I'll take you to Kimberly's place," Seraphina said.

Noe nodded and walked alongside Seraphina.

As they walked, he asked, "Are there wild beasts in the back mountains?"

Seraphina nodded. "Yes."

Noe furrowed his brows and said, "What kind of beasts are there? Wolves?"

Seraphina replied, "Yes."

Noe's heart sank a little, yelling out, "Do the wolves eat people?"

Seraphina looked at him strangely and said, "Are you silly? Wolves are beasts; of course, they eat people."

There was no mockery in her eyes, and her tone was gentle. But it still made Noe feel a bit embarrassed. He had indeed asked a silly question.
