Chapter 728 Who Will Get Her First?
Aaron hung up the phone, and Richard quickly asked, "Mr. Gordon, who called? Was it the assassin?"
"It should be," Aaron replied.
"What did he say?" Richard asked.
"He said his boss's plane will arrive here tomorrow afternoon, and the boss wants to see Joseph." Aaron relayed what he had just heard to the others.
The boss, needless to say, must be the mastermind.
Looking at the unconscious Joseph, Richard hesitated. "Can Joseph go to see the boss in this condition?"
Although the hypnosis had been lifted, and Joseph was no longer under Jerry's control, the current problem was that no one knew when Joseph might suddenly have a manic episode.
If Joseph had a sudden outburst when meeting the boss, it would be exposed.
"Richard, there are too many people here. We should send Joseph back home first." Nora reminded.
Richard nodded, and they drove to his apartment.
Once inside, Richard and Howard helped Joseph to the bedroom.
"Dr. Smith, can you take care of Mr. Gordon for me?" Richard asked.
"Of course," Nora replied and made tea for Aaron, taking on the role of the host.
After Richard and Howard settled Joseph, they sat together, all thinking about meeting the boss tomorrow.
"Given Joseph's current condition, he definitely can't meet the boss. Should we come up with an excuse to cancel?" Richard suggested.
Aaron sipped his tea and said, "What excuse can we come up with? The other party is not stupid."
Canceling might just expose them faster.
"What should we do then? It seems like whether we meet him or not, we'll be exposed." Richard said.
After a moment of silence, Aaron looked at Nora and asked, "Nora, do you think my body shape resembles Joseph's?"
Nora was puzzled and blinked. "Aaron, what do you mean? Are you trying to impersonate Joseph and meet the boss?"
Aaron smirked. "You're indeed clever."
Nora, not in the mood for jokes, said, "No way, even if your body shape is similar to Joseph's, your facial features are not."
Richard and Howard both nodded in agreement.
Playing with his teacup, Aaron's brown eyes were deep and thoughtful.
"Facial features can be changed."
Nora stared at Aaron. "How do you plan to change? Even if you undergo plastic surgery now, it takes time. You can't become him by tomorrow."
"Plastic surgery is too painful, and I'm not going through that ordeal," Aaron said leisurely, with an air of composure.
Richard couldn't help but ask, "Mr. Gordon, what's your idea then?"
Aaron didn't leave them guessing. "Other than plastic surgery, there is another way for me to become exactly like Joseph."
Everyone looked at Aaron, thoughts racing through their minds.
Then Howard voiced what everyone was thinking. "A skin mask?"
Aaron nodded. "Yes, using a skin mask."
This suggestion left everyone stunned.
"But, Mr. Gordon, where can we get such a thing?" Richard asked.
Aaron replied, "You don't need to worry about that. I have my ways."
His good friend Edric loved researching these high-tech gadgets, and he was the right person to ask.
"Mr. Gordon, thank you so much. If you ever need my help in the future, don't hesitate to ask." Richard expressed his gratitude.
Aaron smiled, stood up, and said, "That's settled then. Nora and I will leave first."
"Alright, take care."
Richard saw them off.
Aaron escorted Nora out of Richard's apartment and got into Frederick's car.
On the way, Nora sat next to Aaron in the back seat, her brow furrowed.
"Aaron, can you really get a skin mask?"
Aaron remained silent and dialed Edric's number.
The phone rang several times before being answered.
"Hello?"
Edric's voice was lazy as if he hadn't woken up yet.
Aaron raised an eyebrow. "Are you still sleeping?"
Edric yawned. "Yeah, Aaron, I'm on a business trip abroad. It's late at night!"
Aaron smirked. "Get up quickly and do something for me."
Between good friends, there was no need for formalities.
They could speak frankly about anything.
"What do you need?" Edric yawned again.
"I'll send you a photo later, and you need to quickly get a skin mask made to match his appearance. It needs to be delivered to me by tomorrow evening."
Upon hearing this, Edric let out a curse.
"Mr. Gordon, do you think I'm a god, asking me to produce a skin mask in a day and a half?"
Aaron wasn't bothered. "Do you still want me to be your groomsman at your wedding?"
"Who cares!" Edric retorted.
"In that case, forget what I said. I'm hanging up."
He was about to end the call.
"Wait, I haven't finished speaking."
His tone held a hint of resentment, as though he were speaking between clenched teeth.
"Although I don't care for you, my wife cares for your wife. For the sake of my wife, I'll help you get it done."
Upon hearing Edric's compromise, Aaron smiled. "Thanks."
Edric huffed, "Why do you need a mask?"
"It's useful."
"What's it useful for?"
"To deceive people."
Edric gritted his teeth. "Enough, I'm hanging up."
Aaron chuckled. "Have you decided on a wedding date yet?"
"What's wrong?"
"I need to make time for your wedding. Do you think I'm as free as you?"
Edric was speechless. "I'm not free at all. I've been busy lately, and now I have to deal with your mess. You are just causing trouble for me all the time."
Aaron shrugged it off. "How could you find your wife without me?"
Edric didn't like hearing that.
"My wife was clearly won over by my abilities. What does that have to do with you?"
Aaron smirked. "It was because of my wife that you Jenny agreed to be with you."
Edric was taken aback and then changed the subject. "Your wife, Aaron, you don't have a wife."
Aaron's smile faltered as he glanced at Nora, who was listening intently in his arms.
It seemed Nora couldn't be considered his wife yet, only his fiancée.
Seeing Aaron fall silent, Edric became smug.
"Aaron, remember the bet we made. Who would win over their own crush first?"
Aaron raised an eyebrow. "Didn't I win?"
Edric scoffed. "Don't be ridiculous. Jenny and I are legally married now. How dare you say you won over the woman you liked first?"
Aaron's handsome face darkened, not wanting to admit this fact.
"I'm hanging up."
"No."
Aaron ignored Edric's unfinished words and hung up the phone.
