Chapter 419 Self-Deception
Evella didn't recognize the person, but Nora did.
It was Ava; the woman whom Flynt had impregnated.
With her was the girl who accompanied her for the prenatal check-up yesterday.
Ava walked up to Evella and asked, "Are you Evella?"
"Yes, I'm Evella. Who are you?" Evella asked curiously.
Ava's chest heaved, but she didn't reply. Instead, she picked up a bowl of soup from the table and splashed it toward Evella.
Nora quickly pulled Evella when she saw the motion.
Thus, the soup didn't splash onto Evella's face.
Although it didn't hit her, Evella still got some stains on her body.
Evella looked bewildered, "What are you doing?"
Ava's eyes turned red from tears. "Evella, why did you ruin Flynt? Even if he rejected you, at least you admired him once. You don't have to hate him out of love and destroy him when you can't have him!"
Hearing this, Evella was stunned.
"Who are you anyway? And whom did I ruin?"
Nora coldly looked at Ava's angry and agitated expression.
"Evella, she is Ava."
Evella was surprised, realizing.
So, this was the woman Flynt had deceived.
But why did she come to find her?
Wasn't Flynt the one who deceived her?
Nora looked at Ava's reddened eyes and asked, "Ava, you said Evella ruined Flynt?"
Ava wiped her tears and said in agitation, "I saw Flynt at the police station. He told me Evella insisted on him marrying her, but he loved me and refused. That's when she got angry and said she'd destroy him. Thus, she reported him to the police. Evella, how can you be so heartless!"
Evella was extremely shocked.
This Flynt was simply despicable.
Clearly, he deceived a naive young girl, but now he was pointing fingers at her.
He tried to shift the blame, even after going to jail!
"When did I insist on him marrying me? Ava, you should wake up and not believe what a druggy says. I'm also a victim; before all this, I had no idea you even existed," Evella said.
Ava's chest heaved. "Evella, stop trying to defend yourself! It's because of your hatred that you ruined him! Do you know I'm already pregnant with his child? He promised me that if I stayed by his side, he'd marry me. But now, you've destroyed him and our happiness!"
Evella was speechless. She kindly advised, "Ava, let me tell you; Flynt has been fooling you this whole time. He had more than just one woman, and he's a druggy. Anyway, you shouldn't keep this child and get an abortion."
Upon hearing this, Ava became even more agitated.
"Don't you slander him here! Flynt only loves me, and he's not a drug addict. He said he only occasionally uses drugs for inspiration in his writing! There won't be any problems with my child; you just want it gone out of jealousy!"
Evella thought to herself, amused.
'What was that saying again?'
'You can't wake up someone who pretends to be asleep.'
Evella felt naïve for falling for Flynt's lies, but now she realized that others were more naïve than she was.
"Ava, take a look at this information first," Nora said.
Nora had just called Sandy, asking her to send all the information she had on Flynt.
Ava read through her phone, her expression worsening the more she read.
After that, she shook her head vigorously. "I don't believe it; this isn't true. You must've fabricated all this information!"
How could Flynt have played so many women?
Moreover, he had been on drugs for a long time.
This couldn't be true!
Nora furrowed her brows, speechless.
"Ava, even if you don't believe us, shouldn't you trust the police? They wouldn't arrest someone without evidence."
"No, I don't! You're all conspiring to deceive me!" Ava's emotions flared up again.
Her companion quickly supported her, comforting her softly.
Nora was afraid Ava would smash her phone, so she quickly took it and sympathetically glanced at her, even checking her pulse.
Ava's pulse seemed fine, but just barely.
Nobody knew whether her baby would come out healthy or not.
After all, Flynt was a druggy.
Nora withdrew her hand and advised, "Ava, you're still young. Don't cling stubbornly to your beliefs— it's best to have an abortion."
If the child was born unhealthy, it wouldn't only hurt the adults, but it would also harm the child's entire life.
"No, you're all liars. I only trust Flynt! I'll give birth to this child and wait for his release!"
Ava still didn't believe he was that kind of person, running away while crying.
Her friend quickly followed her, leaving the scene.
Evella watched them silently, sighing.
"This Ava is truly pitiful. She'd rather live in her dream and deceiving herself than face reality."
She actually said she'd wait for Flynt's release.
One couldn't decide whether to call her foolish or deeply sentimental.
"Wipe your tears," Nora handed her a tissue.
"Thank you," Evella took the tissue and wiped away the stains on her clothes.
Due to Ava's antics, neither of them had the appetite to eat.
Nora sat for a while longer, chatting with Evella about this incident before leaving the school and heading to the Woodhouse family to treat Ryan.
Thinking about Chloe, she touched her handbag, which contained the pills she made for Chloe.
She didn't know if the Woodhouses needed her to treat Chloe as well.
"Nora, you're here," Mrs. Woodhouse greeted her with a smile.
"Where's Ryan?"
"He's waiting for you in his room upstairs."
Mrs. Woodhouse led Nora upstairs and said along the way, "Nora, I talked to my parents-in-law yesterday, and they both really hope you can treat Chloe. But as soon as Chloe heard she'd be treated, she started crying and fussing."
"It seems difficult to treat her unless she's asleep. However, I think Arthur might stop us from seeing her."
Hearing this, Nora smiled, "No rush; I can try a medication treatment first instead of a therapeutic one."
Mrs. Woodhouse was surprised and asked, "You want Chloe to take medicine? She's only seven or eight years old mentally; I'm sure she won't be willing."
"Don't worry, leave it to me," Nora said with a smirk.
Mrs. Woodhouse's eyes glimmered with interest. "Do you have a good plan?"
"It's just coaxing a child; isn't it a simple matter?" Nora didn't tell her right away.
"How do we do that exactly?" Mrs. Woodhouse looked curious.
"You'll find out later; let me treat Ryan first," Nora said.
