Chapter 726 Relieving Hypnosis
"Here." Howard quickly handed him the brain CT.
Brandon took it and looked at it, his expression serious.
"Dr. Smith, he was indeed hypnotized."
Indeed, Joseph was hypnotized!
Joseph was not only hypnotized but also poisoned.
It was vicious.
Nora thought to herself and asked, "Can you relieve the hypnosis for him?"
"Yes," Brandon replied.
Nora's eyes lit up, but then she heard him continue, "However, you need to be prepared. Although the hypnosis used by the other party is nothing special, I found out that they not only hypnotized him but also controlled him with drugs."
Upon hearing this, Nora nodded. "Yes, the recent examination report shows that he was indeed poisoned."
Brandon agreed. "The other party is cunning and ferocious. They probably anticipated that you might notice his abnormality and take him to see a psychologist, so they combined hypnosis and drugs to control him."
Nora listened carefully and said thoughtfully, "So, are you suggesting that if you relieve the hypnosis for him, there might be some negative consequences?"
Brandon looked at her and praised her. "Dr. Smith, you are very clever. As you said, if I forcibly relieve the hypnosis for him, he may become agitated or even self-harm due to the toxins in his body."
Nora's heart sank slightly. "What if we don't relieve the hypnosis?"
"That wouldn't be good either."
Brandon explained truthfully, "Hypnosis combined with drugs will erode his brain nerves. Over time, he will completely become a fool."
Nora furrowed her brows. "So the best approach is to relieve both the hypnosis and the toxins in his body at the same time?"
Brandon nodded. "In theory, that's correct. But I think it's best to relieve the hypnosis for him immediately."
"Why?"
"Because I've noticed subtle changes in his brain cortex due to the toxin erosion. If we delay it, the likelihood of him becoming a fool will increase."
Upon hearing this, Nora and Howard exchanged a glance, momentarily speechless.
Howard furrowed his brows and said, "Nora, I'll go ask Richard for a decision."
As outsiders, they couldn't make decisions and had to wait for Richard to decide.
"Alright." Nora thought the same.
Howard left the operating room and informed Richard of Joseph's current situation.
Richard was shocked after hearing it.
He furrowed his brows and said, "First, let Doctor Brandon relieve the hypnosis for Joseph."
They couldn't let Joseph become a fool.
As for signs of agitation and self-harm in Joseph, as long as they were with him all the time, they could surely prevent it.
In any case, they must not let Joseph become a fool.
"Okay."
Howard entered the operating room and conveyed Richard's decision to Nora.
Nora nodded and said to Brandon, "Doctor Brandon, we're counting on you for this."
"Alright."
Brandon didn't beat around the bush and went straight to help Joseph relieve the hypnosis.
Nora watched him enter the operating room, lips pressed tightly, thinking about how to produce the antidote.
To neutralize this rare toxin, she needed to go back and consult some ancient books.
Forty minutes later, Brandon emerged.
He looked somewhat weary, as if he had been through a mental battle.
Nora stood up to meet him. "Doctor Brandon, how is he?"
"I've undone the hypnosis for him. He's still in a state of unconsciousness, but he should wake up in about ten minutes."
Nora breathed a sigh of relief and thanked Brandon.
Brandon waved his hand. "I'll prescribe some medication for him. If he shows signs of agitation when he wakes up, give it to him."
"Alright."
Brandon wrote a prescription and handed it to her.
"Dr. Smith, this medication is not a long-term solution. It's best to remove the toxins from his body as soon as possible."
Nora took the prescription and nodded. "I got it."
They exchanged a few more words, but Brandon was quickly taken away by his assistant due to his busy schedule.
Meanwhile, Joseph woke up from his unconscious state.
"Joseph, are you awake?" Howard stood by and spoke.
Joseph's thoughts were still in a haze, feeling a headache and dizziness.
He furrowed his brows as he slowly sat up, rubbing his temples.
It wasn't until the throbbing subsided slightly that he realized something was amiss.
Looking around, he asked, "Am I in the operating room?"
Howard replied, "Yes, how do you feel now?"
Joseph found it strange to be in the operating room. After hearing Howard's question, he thought for a moment.
"My head hurts. It feels like I had a very tiring dream."
In his dream, he was driving with Evella and Richard.
Later, they were attacked on the road, and he and the car fell off a cliff, plunging into the sea. After that, he couldn't remember anything.
Joseph's temples began to throb again.
"What are you thinking, Joseph?" Howard looked at his furrowed brow and asked tentatively.
Joseph fell silent for a moment and then looked up. "Did I have an accident?"
Howard nodded. "Yes."
"Are Evella and Richard safely back home?"
"Yes."
"That's good."
Joseph breathed a sigh of relief.
Howard and Nora exchanged a glance. Nora asked, "Joseph, do you remember anything special after being rescued from the sea?"
Nora wanted to know if Joseph remembered who hypnotized him.
Joseph thought for a moment. "I don't remember anything special happened. I remember being rescued by fishermen, and later, Richard's people found me and brought me back home."
Joseph's gaze flickered.
In the past few days since his return, he seemed to have done something wrong.
There seemed to be a voice in his head telling him to get Evella back.
And he seemed to have been trying to sabotage the relationship between Howard and Evella.
Joseph felt very strange.
Nora, seeing Joseph's odd expression, decided not to pursue further and took out her phone to show Joseph a picture of Jerry.
"Joseph, do you know this man?"
Joseph snapped out of his thoughts, carefully examining the photo of Jerry, then shook his head. "I don't know him. Who is he?"
Nora pursed her lips, realizing that Jerry must have hypnotized Joseph and poisoned him while he was unconscious.
"Nora, Joseph, let's step outside and talk." Howard, seeing that Nora wasn't getting anywhere, spoke up.
It was quite strange for them to stay in the operating room for so long.
Confused, Joseph followed them out after changing his clothes.
At that moment, Richard was still waiting in the corridor for them.
Seeing the three of them come out, he stepped forward and scrutinized Joseph.
"Joseph."
"Richard."
Joseph smiled warmly.
Richard felt that Joseph had once again become the gentle and kind Joseph he knew.
