Chapter 604 Don't Need to Check Again

Letting out a long sigh of relief, Nora thanked the doctor, handed the list to Frederick, and asked Frederick to pay the bill.

She sat on the edge of the bed and asked, "Aaron, what happened? How did the car catch fire? The police said a malfunction of the car itself caused the crash and fire. Is that true?"

Aaron replied, "Probably. When we were halfway there, I noticed something was wrong with the car. It seemed to have a malfunction, so when the car crashed into the guardrail, I quickly jumped out."

"Then the car exploded, and I was stunned. I don't know what happened afterward. When I woke up, I found myself in the hospital; someone must have saved me. My phone was missing, so I asked the doctor to call you."

Nora listened carefully, still feeling a bit scared when Aaron mentioned the car explosion.

Fortunately, Aaron jumped out in time and just got stunned.

At this moment, Johnnie also hurried over. "Mr. Gordon, it's really good that you're okay."

Aaron glanced at him and responded lightly.

Nora said, "Aaron, Johnnie mentioned that there might be something fishy about your accident; maybe someone had tampered with the car. Frederick also mentioned that this accident is very similar to your previous one, where you fell off a cliff. Do you think Dominic is behind this?"

Upon hearing this, Aaron's gaze flickered slightly; he asked, "Do you have any evidence?"

Nora was taken aback and shook her head, saying, "No, but I called Hollis. She admitted that she and Dominic conspired in your previous accident. However, she had changed her mind, let go of the hatred, and chose not to harm you again. But Dominic might not stop. Maybe he got someone to deal with you this time."

Upon hearing this, Aaron waved his hand and said, "Alright, don't speculate without evidence; maybe it's just a pure traffic accident."

Nora was stunned, a hint of surprise flashing in her eyes.

There had been numerous conflicts between Dominic and Aaron.

She thought Aaron would say he would investigate this matter thoroughly, but she didn't expect him to advise her not to jump to conclusions.

When Frederick returned after paying the bill, he frowned slightly at Aaron's words.

He was confused about how Aaron handled this indicent.

It was normal to suspect Dominic. After all, Dominic had targeted Aaron before. However, Aaron's current reaction suggested there might be more to this accident.

"Mr. Gordon, do we need to investigate this traffic accident further?" Johnnie asked.

"No, just leave it to the police," Aaron said.

"Alright." With that said, Johnnie naturally followed suit.

Nora sat on the edge of the bed without saying a word.

She looked at Aaron up and down, not sure what was going on; she felt a strange sensation from Aaron in front of her.

At this moment, Nora's phone rang.

She took out her phone and saw it was a call from Ebenezer.

He probably wanted to ask about Aaron's current situation.

"I'll go take this call," Nora said to Aaron and then walked out of the emergency room to answer the phone, "Dad."

Ebenezer asked, "How's it going over there? Did they find Aaron?"

"They found him; Aaron was brought to the hospital; fortunately, he just had a slight concussion," Nora said.

Ebenezer sighed in relief and said, "That's good. Was it an accident?"

Nora paused and said, "For now, it seems to be an accident."

Ebenezer said, "Let Aaron investigate further."

Nora wanted to say that Aaron said there was no need to investigate further, but she didn't.

She said casually, "Got it."

Then she hung up.

As she turned around, she saw Johnnie and Frederick coming out.

"Where are you two going?" Nora asked.

"Mr. Gordon is about to be discharged; I'm going to help him with the discharge procedures," Johnnie said.

"Mr. Gordon asked me to buy him some clothes," Frederick added.

Nora's eyebrows furrowed slightly, and she walked into the emergency room and asked, "Aaron, are you going to be discharged?"

"I just have a slight concussion, nothing serious. There is no need to stay in the hospital," Aaron said.

Nora looked at Aaron's swollen face and said, "But your face is still swollen. Maybe you should stay in the hospital for observation tonight."

Aaron touched his face, and his gaze flickered, saying, "It's okay. You're a doctor; If there's anything wrong, you can handle it."

Aaron wasn't wrong in saying that.

Nora stood there without saying a word for a moment.

Aaron reached out and held her hand, pulling her into his arms, saying, "Darling, I missed you so much."

The sudden movement, coupled with the endearment, sent shivers down Nora's spine.

Feeling Aaron's hand wandering on her body, a wave of discomfort washed over her.

Nora struggled a bit, stood up, and straightened her clothes, saying, "Aaron, stop fooling around; this is a hospital; there are people around."

This was the emergency room, with only a curtain separating them from other patients.

"Alright, we'll continue at home," Aaron said, his gaze swept over Nora's ample chest and licked his lips.

After straightening her clothes, Nora glanced at him and then approached.

"Aaron, are you really just slightly concussed?" Nora asked.

Aaron's gaze flickered, and he said, "Yes. Is there anything wrong?"

Nora couldn't pinpoint what was wrong either.

"When you were stunned by the airflow, did you hit your head?" Nora said.

"Yes." Aaron nodded.

He had been hit on the head, which could explain the slight change in his behavior.

Suddenly, Nora remembered something. So, she sat on the edge of the bed, touched Aaron's head, pretended to check, and secretly pulled out two strands of his hair.

She said, "It seems like you took a fall and got uglier."

Aaron touched his face, and a glint appeared in his eyes. He said, "It'll be fine once the swelling goes down."

Nora responded, "I'll go to the restroom. Is it okay for you to be alone here?"

"It's fine, you can go."

"Okay."

Nora left the emergency room, went to a corner, and wrapped the hair she had just pulled from Aaron's head in a tissue.

She remembered that she needed to do a genetic comparison again.

She wasn't sure if it was necessary, but once she did it, she wouldn't have any regrets.

After putting the tissue away, Nora walked to the door and looked at Aaron, who was looking in the mirror on the hospital bed, furrowing her brows.

After the accident, Aaron seemed somewhat alien to her, to the point that she didn't want to get close to him.

Shaking her head, Nora walked over.

Soon, Johnnie finished the discharge procedures and came over.

Frederick also bought a suit for Aaron.

Aaron glanced at the suit Frederick bought and scolded, "Frederick, where did you buy this cheap clothing?"

Frederick was taken aback, saying, "Mr. Gordon, they didn't have the brand you usually wear here, but this suit was also bought from the mall; it's quite expensive."

Aaron gave him a cold glance and said, "How dare you argue with me?"

Frederick lowered his head, not saying another word. But Frederick was even more confused.

Aaron had asked him to buy clothes before, and even if he didn't find the right clothes, Aaron had never scolded him like this.
