Chapter 709 Blind Date
Upon hearing this, Nora smirked and said, "It's really not his style, so you know what I mean?"
Becky was puzzled, "Nora, I don't understand. The photos of Aaron and Betsy entering the hotel room were real."
Nora replied, "That man just looks like Aaron, but he's not Aaron. Aaron's taste isn't that bad."
Becky was puzzled again and then said, "I know you have your pride, but I'm not a stranger. You don't have to forcefully defend Aaron in front of me."
Becky clearly didn't believe it. Nora couldn't be bothered to explain to her.
"Believe it or not, it's up to you. I'm hanging up."
On the other end of the phone, Becky stared blankly at the disconnected call for a while.
Then she found the photos of Aaron and Betsy entering the hotel room.
Looking at the man in the photo, she examined him with a skeptical expression.
This man clearly was Aaron, so was it just the angle of the shot that made him look like Aaron?
No, if it was an angle issue, why did Nora pay a large sum of money to the informant?
Nora was just trying to save face!
She was really in love with Aaron.
Who would have thought that Nora was actually a romantic at heart?
Poor Nora, she shouldn't suffer another heartbreak.
Becky thought to herself and started to check Sunny's schedule.
In the future, she would have to step in and secretly watch over Nora, the romantic sister, and prevent those women in the entertainment circle from seducing Aaron again.
Nora shouldn't have to endure another heartbreak.
Meanwhile, Nora, unaware that Becky had labeled her as a love-struck woman, was now sitting in the car driven by Frederick on her way to the Whispering Willow Restaurant.
As Nora got out of the car and approached the restaurant, she saw someone getting out of a taxi in front of the building.
The person was wearing loose work clothes and blue jeans. With short, neat hair, he looked casual and cool. It was Jane.
Nora's eyes lit up as she called out, "Jane."
About to enter the restaurant, Jane paused, turned around, and greeted Nora with a smile. "Dr. Smith, what a coincidence."
"Are you here for dinner too?" Nora asked with a smile.
"Yes." The two of them walked inside together.
Nora said, "I haven't thanked you for helping catch Curtis Romero last time. How about having a meal together?"
Jane replied, "Don't need to thank me. Catching criminals is part of my job."
She always had this official demeanor.
Nora tilted her head, looking at her, and said with a smile. "Jane, we are friends, right?"
Jane nodded, "Of course."
"Then, as a friend, can I treat you to a meal?" Nora asked.
Jane hesitated for a moment and then smiled. "Of course, but not today. I have plans with a friend."
"We can go together," Nora suggested.
"It might not be convenient."
"What's wrong?"
Jane coughed lightly. "I'm here for a blind date."
Blind date!
Nora was almost taken aback. She looked Jane up and down. "Are you really here for a blind date?"
"Yeah. Is there a problem?"
Jane looked innocent. "No, but your attire..."
Jane's casual outfit was unexpected. She didn't seem to take today's blind date seriously.
"What's wrong with my outfit?"
"Nothing, I just didn't expect you to be on a blind date." Nora awkwardly smiled.
Jane glanced at her clothes and probably understood Nora's thoughts.
She explained, "I just finished a task and didn't have time to change clothes."
Upon hearing this, Nora felt a newfound respect for her professionalism.
"Jane, you are so dedicated to your job."
Jane smiled, glanced around, and looked towards a man sitting by the window. "My date should be here. Dr. Smith, let's meet another time."
"Alright."
Nora wanted to wish her a successful blind date, but she held back.
She unexpectedly didn't want Jane's blind date to go well.
She even wanted to set her up with Zephyr!
Nora's gaze followed Jane's and landed on the man by the window.
Jane's date, Eric Roberts was dressed in a suit and tie, looking quite formal.
However, he was a bit chubby, with a slightly dark complexion and a pair of black-framed glasses on his nose, making him look rather ordinary.
Nora squinted. Although she didn't judge people by their appearance, she still felt that he and Jane didn't seem like a good match.
The man seemed a bit oily and lacked charisma, not quite up to par with Jane, the cool female police officer!
"Nora."
Howard's voice came from behind.
Nora turned around and saw Howard in a khaki trench coat, elegant and handsome.
Men like Howard truly had charisma.
"Howard."
"Were you waiting for me?" Howard chuckled.
"Yes, let's go," Nora said casually.
"Are you really waiting for me? Why do I find it hard to believe?"
"Whatever." Nora glanced at the man by the window again, then retracted her gaze and walked towards the private room with Howard.
By the window, Eric ordered two cups of coffee and then pushed his glasses up, looking at Jane across from him with some disdain.
"Ms. Jane, is this how you dress for a blind date?"
Jane had just finished a task and was sweating and feeling thirsty.
She poured herself a glass of water and drank it all in one go.
"Sorry, I just completed a task and didn't have time to change clothes."
After saying that, Jane poured herself another glass of water and finished it in one gulp.
Jane's behavior was quite unladylike, almost tomboyish.
Eric's eyes behind the glasses flashed with a hint of disdain once again.
After Jane drank three glasses of water in a row, Eric couldn't help but express his displeasure, "Did Justin tell you about my situation?"
Jane licked her lips, moistened by the water. "He did. He told me that you are twenty-nine years old, own an import-export company, and are a normal boss."
Justin Turner was Jane's next-door neighbor who had watched her grow up.
He had been very eager to introduce boyfriends to Jane.
Jane had made excuses to decline once before, but Justin was persistent in trying to set her up.
Feeling embarrassed, Jane had no choice but to accept the blind date.
"Yes, besides that, did Justin tell you anything else about me?" Eric asked.
Jane glanced at Eric and replied, "No."
Naturally, Justin also spoke highly of Eric.
He had hinted to Jane that she was getting older and should prioritize settling down.
Jane just went through the motions, not taking it seriously.
She loved her job, but it also meant that it was difficult for her to find a boyfriend.
It was too dangerous. Men from well-off families wouldn't typically approve of their sons marrying a female police officer.
Lost in her thoughts, Jane heard Eric speak up across the table.
"Ms. Harvey, I won't beat around the bush. I'm not getting any younger, so this blind date is with the intention of getting married."
"You know, being a police officer is too dangerous. I hope that after we get married, you can find
a new job. Of course, if you can resign and stay at home to take care of the family, that would be even better."
