Chapter 663 He Might Be Setting a Trap

That was quite a statement.

Nora laughed. "True, Richard, you will need to be more patient in the future and give Howard some pointers."

"We'll see how he behaves,"Richard replied.

The implication was that if Howard dared to upset Evella, Richard would oppose their relationship.

Nora found it amusing but understood Richard's behavior.

Howard, being the man, would need to get agreement from Evella's family to marry her.

As a girl herself, Nora deeply empathized.

So, she couldn't help much. It was up to Howard how he proved himself.

Thinking of the main issue, Nora temporarily set aside Howard's matters.

"Richard, do you know about the Gordon Group seeking cooperation with the Bilian Group?"

Hearing this, Richard glanced at her, his expression becoming more serious.

"I know. I'm also puzzled as to why Mr. Gordon wants to cooperate with the Bilian Group but hasn't approached me."

'Because that was an imposter!,' Nora thought to herself and asked, "Richard, is the Bilian Group currently divided into two factions? Is someone trying to take a crooked path?"

Richard gave her a deep look. "Who told you this? Mr. Gordon?"

Nora nodded. "Yes."

Richard paused. "He's right. So, why is he seeking cooperation with those who don't follow the right path?"

Indeed, Aaron's analysis was correct.

He truly had sharp insight.

Nora felt a surge of pride.

She suppressed her emotions, wanting to tell Richard about the imposter, but swallowed her words.

She decided to discuss it with Aaron after returning.

She feared it would complicate the situation if too many people knew about the truth.

Nora didn't directly answer Richard's question. She looked at Howard and Evella, who were buying food at the window, her eyes flickering.

"Richard, could it be that Evella's father's death wasn't an accident?"

Richard gave her another deep look. "Is this Aaron's another guess?"

Nora nodded, smiling without speaking.

Richard squinted his eyes and didn't answer directly. Instead, he asked, "Ms. Smith, what exactly is your fiancé up to? Did he tell you why he didn't approach me directly for cooperation?"

Nora's eyes sparkled as she said, "He might be setting a trap."

A hint of interest flashed in Richard's eyes. "A trap?"

Nora nodded. "He recently had a car accident, almost fatal. After some investigation, he suspects that the person who wants to kill him is related to the Bilian Group."

A sharp light flashed in Richard's eyes. "So, he deliberately used the excuse of cooperation to get close to people from the Bilian Group?"

Nora smiled slightly, neither confirming nor denying.

Nora said this because Zack's death was also a car accident.

And Aaron had twice nearly died in car accidents.

There was a certain degree of similarity between the two.

She had already figured out that Aaron's previous car accident was related to the Gordon family's eldest branch.

Now, the imposter's dealings with the Bilian Group made it evidentt that these car accidents were connected to people within the Bilian Group.

So, Nora spoke ambiguously.

Richard was a smart man and would naturally investigate further.

Perhaps he could help uncover the mastermind!

Richard's face was stern, lost in thought.

He had been having people investigate Zack's fatal car accident and had some leads.

"We're back! Dad, Nora, what are you talking about?"

Evella and Howard returned to their seats with their plates.

Nora collected her thoughts and smiled. "Just chatting."

Evella looked at her and then at Richard, a hint of suspicion in her eyes.

The atmosphere seemed a bit off.

Were they disagreeing on her matters?

Richard composed himself, his expression softening.

He picked up a rib and placed it on Evella's plate.

"Eat up, and it won't taste as good if it gets cold."

Seeing Richard's softened expression, Evella didn't say anything more.

She sniffed and passed the rib to Nora.

"Smells so good, Nora. You should try Richard's cooking. It's as good as a five-star chef's!"

"I knew I was in for a treat!"

Nora looked at Richard. "Richard, you don't mind if I have a piece, right?"

Richard laughed. "Of course not. It's my pleasure. I just hope you won't be disappointed."

Nora smiled, took a bite of the rib, and her eyes lit up.

"The flavor is really amazing!"

She gave Richard a thumbs up.

"As long as you like it."

Richard had a nonchalant look.

Evella smiled. "See, I wasn't wrong. My godfather's cooking is really good! Nora, try this too. It's my favorite."

"Okay."

"And this one."

Evella kept adding food to Nora's bowl.

Howard looked on longingly, silently eating the cafeteria food he had just brought back.

He definitely didn't have the privilege of eating Richard's homemade dishes.

Just as he was thinking this, a piece of fish appeared in front of him.

"You should try my cooking too."

Howard looked up and met Evella's bright eyes, a smile flashing in his own.

"Thank you."

His Evella was so considerate.

Just as he was about to put the fish in his mouth, Richard spoke up.

"If you eat it, remember the taste. Someday, I hope to enjoy a meal cooked by you."

This was a hint that Howard should cook himself!

Howard paused.

To be honest, having lived a pampered life for over twenty years, he had never cooked.

For Howard, cooking was a big challenge.

Harder than performing surgery!

"Dad, his hands are for surgery, not for cooking!"

Evella came to Howard's defense.

Richard glanced at her, feeling a bit frustrated.

This silly Evella was always speaking up for Howard.

He was trying to support her!

Howard needed to understand that even after marrying Evella, he shouldn't be macho.

He shouldn't think that cooking and taking care of kids was solely a woman's job.

Men could cook, take care of kids, and pamper their wives, too!

"It's okay. Performing surgery doesn't prevent me from cooking. Just give me some time, and I'll learn to cook."

Seeing Richard's displeased expression, Howard quickly spoke up.

Hearing this, Richard's expression softened a bit.

Howard was a sensible young man, and Richard hoped he could taste Howard's cooking some day.

Nora, swallowing her food, was thinking about the potential disaster.

Howard had never set foot in a kitchen.

If he started learning to cook, she would definitely hear Emma's nagging!

After all, Howard was always Emma's precious one.

Now, he was actually going to cook for Evella!

Nora couldn't help but touch her ear. It seemed to be itching already.

"Nora, why was your phone unreachable last night? Mom was worried sick."

Howard remembered and asked.
