Chapter 847 Meeting Millie
Nora's eyes flickered slightly, feeling that something didn't quite add up.
Her diagnosis couldn't be wrong; there was nothing wrong with Aisha's body.
But why couldn't Aisha get pregnant?
Nora thought of a possibility.
"Mrs. Rochet, is Mr. Rochet having an affair?"
Aisha's face showed a trace of embarrassment. She lowered her eyes and nodded. "Yes. I can't give him children, and I understand that he might have desires I can't fulfill."
Nora raised an eyebrow and asked, "Therefore, has anyone given birth to a child for your husband?"
Aisha shook her head. "No."
Nora said, "Mrs. Rochet, have you ever considered that the reason you can't get pregnant might not be your problem but your husband's?"
When she first saw Hugo, she felt he had kidney deficiency.
She thought it was due to Hugo having too much sex and didn't think further.
Aisha looked shocked and said, "That's impossible. What could be wrong with Hugo?"
Nora explained, "Medically speaking, your husband most likely has asthenozoospermia, which makes it very difficult for him to have children."
Aisha shook her head and said, "But I have been pregnant before."
Nora nodded and explained, "Having asthenozoospermia doesn't mean it's impossible to get you pregnant. Just like the doctor said, it's hard for you to get pregnant again, but it doesn't mean you can't. You were lucky to conceive, but unfortunately, you couldn't keep the baby."
Listening to Nora's explanation, Aisha was stunned.
Her eyes gradually reddened, asking, "Therefore, it's not my problem?"
"Yes, it's not your problem." Nora nodded.
Tears glistened in Aisha's eyes.
It seemed she had been carrying too much grievance and pressure.
She took a deep breath, wiped her tears, and said, "Dr. Weaver, given my husband's condition, does it mean we are destined not to have our own children?"
Nora was silent for a moment and said, "If I can help you have a child, can you persuade Mr. Rochet to return Millie to us?"
Aisha looked at her, a hint of eagerness in her eyes.
"Can you really help us have our own child?"
Nora looked back at her and replied, "I can try."
Aisha clasped her fingers and said, "The reason Hugo wants to take Millie back is because we have no children. His family business needs an heir, so he wants to raise Millie as the heir from a young age. If we have our own child, he wouldn't need to look for Millie anymore."
Nora's guess was confirmed. She nodded and said, "Understood. I will do my best to help you have your own child."
Hearing this, Aisha was a bit excited and said, "Dr. Weaver, if you can really help us have our own child, you will be my benefactor, and I will be grateful to you."
Nora smiled and asked, "So, can you take us to see Millie now?"
"Sure." Aisha nodded readily.
The group immediately got up and left the hospital.
Nora and Aaron got into the car together.
James couldn't wait to ask, "You saw her, right? What did she say?"
Aaron deliberately said, "Why don't you hurry up and follow the car in front?"
James was stunned. "Follow whose car?"
"Mrs. Rochet's car. Don't you want to see Millie?" Aaron said.
"Oh, okay."
James was momentarily stunned and quickly started the car.
He was anxious, but Aaron and Nora seemed calm and composed.
After starting the car, James couldn't help but ask, "Dr. Smith, Mr. Gordon, what exactly did you talk about with Mrs. Rochet?"
Nora smiled and told him the conversation.
After listening, James suddenly understood. "So, it's not Mrs. Rochet's problem, but Hugo's?"
"Yes."
James's eyes showed a trace of worry, saying, "Dr. Smith, are you confident you can cure Hugo's condition?"
Nora was silent for a moment, replying, "I'm not entirely sure, but I will try even if there's a slight chance."
James nodded and said, "I believe in your medical skills. You can definitely cure Hugo."
Nora smiled and looked at the scenery outside the window without speaking.
Whether she could cure Hugo was one thing, but a new worry began to gnaw at her thoughts.
'When Millie saw us, she might not want to go back with us.'
'If Millie didn't want to, how would we handle it?'
'Leaving Millie here would make us uneasy, but we couldn't force her to go back against her will.'
'After all, this was her true hometown.'
The car weaved through the traffic and soon arrived at Hugo's place.
This time, James wanted to go in with them, and Nora didn't stop him.
Aisha led them to the living room and had the servants pour them coffee.
Then she asked the servant, "Where is Millie?"
"Mrs. Roche, Millie is with Ms. Nguyen."
Hugo's house was large, with a main building and an annex.
Jasmine and Millie stayed in the annex.
"Bring Millie and Jasmine over," Aisha said.
"Yes," The servant responded.
Soon, Jasmine brought Millie over.
Nora sat on the sofa drinking coffee and saw Millie obediently holding Jasmine's hand from a distance.
Millie didn't cry or make a fuss, behaving like a little lady.
Nora's gaze then shifted to Jasmine.
She had never seen Emmeline.
But James had shown her Emmeline's photo, and this Jasmine looked exactly like Emmeline.
Like twins.
Aaron, sitting next to Nora, squinted his eyes.
He had seen Emmeline in person and had the same thought as Nora.
This Jasmine looked just like Emmeline.
James, who came along, stared at Jasmine in a daze.
His eyes were filled with nostalgia, pain, and disbelief.
Even though he knew Jasmine wasn't the real Emmeline, his heart still trembled to see a woman who looked exactly like her because he missed her so much.
He genuinely hoped she was Emmeline.
Nora stood up and called out to Millie, "Millie."
Millie suddenly looked up. When she saw it was Nora calling her, she smiled happily, let go of Jasmine's hand, and ran towards Nora.
"Mommy!"
Nora opened her arms and hugged Millie, smelling the milky scent on her and feeling a sense of peace.
"Millie, did you miss me?"
"Yes, I missed you so much."
Millie hugged Nora and snuggled in her arms.
Nora laughed and kissed Millie's little face repeatedly.
"I missed you too."
Watching Millie and Nora for a moment, Aaron ambled over and crouched down beside his daughter. "Millie," he said gently, "have you forgotten about Daddy?"
Millie glanced at him, smiled, and threw herself into his arms.
"Daddy, I missed you too."
A hint of a smile flashed in Aaron's eyes. He hugged Millie and gently patted her back.
"Good girl."
James, reluctantly tearing his gaze from Jasmine, bent down to look at Millie.
"Millie, do you remember Uncle James?"
Millie looked up and nodded. "I remember. Hello, Uncle James."
"Hey, Uncle James wants a hug, too."
Millie opened her arms, letting him hug her.
James held her in his arms, thinking of Emmeline, and his eyes reddened again.
