Chapter 937 You Wanted to Use Me
Gabriella was shocked. "You want to work with me, Prince Rafael? Are you looking to do business?"
Rafael grinned. "You could call it business."
"What kind of business? Military?"
Gabriella felt a bit excited. Who wouldn't want to do business with royalty? It was a sure profit.
"Maybe. But let's start with something else," Rafael said.
"Like what?"
"Taking down Aaron's Gordon Group."
Gabriella was stunned. "Are you trying to use me, Prince Rafael?"
She knew the royal family had its conflicts. Rafael and Mateo were competing for power, and Nora, who saved Mateo, was a problem for Rafael along with Aaron. Was Rafael using her to get rid of them?
"Ms. Costa, don't make it sound so harsh. It's a collaboration. I'm not using you," Rafael smiled. "If we work well together, I'll take care of your business and even your marriage."
Gabriella's eyes lit up. "You'd arrange my marriage too? I've been chasing Aaron; you know I like him. How could I help you get rid of him?"
Rafael chuckled. "Ms. Costa, I've done my homework. You're after Aaron to avenge your sister, right?"
Gabriella gripped her phone tightly, her face darkening. "Rafael, you must be mistaken. I don't have a sister."
Rafael smiled knowingly. "Ms. Costa, you were adopted. Your biological parents died in a car accident twenty years ago. You have an older sister, Suzy Hamilton, adopted by the Hamilton family in Lindwood City. Am I right?"
Gabriella stayed silent, her face stern. Rafael's investigation was spot on. She was indeed Suzy's younger sister.
When Gabriella was adopted by Thea Nygaard and Yannick Costa, she was only three, so she remembered nothing before the adoption. Thea and Yannick treated her as their own, and she didn't know she was adopted until last year when she overheard them talking. Thea couldn't have children, so they secretly adopted Gabriella to appease her mother-in-law.
Shocked, Gabriella started investigating her past. Thea and Yannick knew little about her biological parents, only that she had a sister named Suzy, adopted by the Hamiltons in Lindwood City, with a black mole on her hand like Gabriella.
Gabriella, a fan of Suzy, felt a special connection to her. After some digging, she confirmed Suzy was her sister, but by then, Suzy had died in a car accident.
Gabriella discovered Suzy's death was Aaron and Nora's fault. She was so close to reuniting with Suzy, only for her to die because of them. Gabriella couldn't let it go.
She started gathering info on Aaron. When she found out he wanted into the military industry, she got Yannick's approval to approach him. She planned to get close to Aaron and make his and Nora's lives miserable, all for Suzy's peace.
Gabriella closed her eyes, then opened them with a calm expression. "Since you've done your homework, Rafael, I won't deny it. How do you want us to collaborate?"
Rafael laughed. "Straightforward! I want you to take down the Gordon Group. I'll have people assist you. Help me take down Aaron and Nora, and I'll make you Miguel's queen."
The offer was tempting, but Gabriella knew Rafael was shrewd and ruthless. She had sources from her business with Yannick and knew Miguel was just a playboy. Becoming his queen wasn't appealing.
But she wouldn't tell Rafael that. Collaborating with him was like making a deal with the devil. She had to be careful.
"Alright, it's a deal."
"Pleasure working with you. If you need anything, let me know. I'll have people to support you," Rafael said.
Gabriella felt watched and said, "I don't need anything now. If I do, I'll contact you."
Rafael added, "Aaron isn't a fool. Seducing him and driving a wedge between him and his wife won't work."
Gabriella played with a strand of hair. "I know, I have a plan."
If Aaron were a fool, he wouldn't interest her so much. She pretended to be friendly with Nora to gain her trust and get closer to Aaron.
"I'll be eager to see how you make them turn against each other," Rafael said with a hint of excitement.
Gabriella smiled. "If there's nothing else, I'll hang up now."
"Okay."
After hanging up, Gabriella sat in a daze, then took out a makeup mirror and examined herself. She had told Nora they looked somewhat alike, and it wasn't a lie. Since Aaron liked Nora, she would become another Nora.
Gabriella believed she understood men better than Nora and was better at pleasing them. If she became another Nora, how could Aaron not fall for her?
She smiled smugly and pulled up a photo of Suzy from her phone. Gently caressing Suzy's smiling face, she thought, 'Suzy, I will fulfill your unfulfilled wishes!'
