Chapter 667 Play Along with Him

"I was just saying it casually."

Howard was merely complaining to Nora.

He changed the subject and glanced at the documents spread out on the table.

"Have you looked at the case files? Any thoughts?"

"I wrote down a few things. Take a look."

Nora handed the rough draft of the surgical plan she had just written to Howard.

Howard took it and skimmed through it, a glint of admiration in his eyes.

"As expected of a miracle doctor, I am in complete awe of you."

Hearing this, Nora teased, "Are you really in awe of me, or are you planning to test my medical knowledge again?"

This reminded Howard of when he first met her and deliberately made things difficult for her because of Suzy.

He laughed awkwardly. "Dear sister, how about you dig a hole for me to crawl into first?"

"Why would I dig a hole? I don't want to be a dog," Nora replied.

Howard was taken aback. "No, I mean I crawl into the hole. What does that have to do with you being a dog?"

Nora said, "Only dogs crawl into holes. You're my brother. If you become a dog, wouldn't I become one too?"

Howard chuckled, "You're so cheeky."

After a bit of banter, Howard said, "Later, can you help me reorganize the surgical plan here? Once I confirm with the patient's family, will you be my assistant?"

"Sure, just let me know in advance," Nora agreed readily.

Before long, Howard's assistant came to call him for the surgery.

Howard informed Nora and then left the office.

After he left, Nora began organizing the surgical plan on the computer.

Once she finished her work, she sat for a while, but Howard still hadn't come out of the operating room.

Nora checked the time and realized it was almost time for Billy and Samantha to get out of school.

Thinking of Billy and Samantha, Margaret's affair with the fake Aaron came into her mind, making her face sullen.

Margaret was probably still dreaming of replacing her and marrying into a wealthy family.

It was hard to say whether Margaret was smart or just too naive.

At that moment, Nora's phone rang.

The number on the screen was Aaron's.

Of course, it was the imposter calling.

Nora pursed her lips and answered the call without speaking.

A fake, gentle voice came through the phone.

"Nora, it's me."

"What do you want?" Nora asked coldly.

The imposter said, "Nora, where are you? I haven't bothered you these past few days to give you time to cool down. Please forgive me, don't be so cold to me, and stop being mad at me, okay?"

Nora initially wanted to ignore him and hang up.

But on second thought, she realized she had to play along with him until she could expose the imposter.

So she feigned emotion, sniffled, and pretended to choke up.

"Aaron, you've really disappointed me. You said you'd only love me in this lifetime. Why did you go after other women?"

Hearing this, the imposter quickly said, "I was wrong! Nora, I swear, you're the only one I truly love. Those other women mean nothing to me."

This was classic scumbag talk.

Nora sneered internally but didn't show it on her face.

"You say they mean nothing, but are you going to keep doing this?"

The imposter replied, "No, Nora. No matter what, Mrs. Gordon's position will always be yours. Those other women are just passing through my life."

A flash of disgust crossed Nora's eyes.

Jackson was just a pice of shit compared to Aaron.

Even though they were both men, they were so different.

"Aaron, if I say you need to cut ties with those women, or I'll call off the engagement, what would you do?"

The man was silent for a moment. "I told you, you're the one I love the most. Of course, I'll cut ties with them."

Nora said, "Alright, I'll give you another chance because I love you. Clean up your act with those women, and I'll let this go as if nothing happened. Otherwise, we're calling off the engagement."
Nora felt a bit nauseous from what she had to say.

Of course, her stance was a way to keep the imposter in check.

If Nora broke off the engagement because she couldn't accept the imposter's infidelity, things would blow up.

That wouldn't be beneficial for the imposter's plans.

But if Nora wasn't angry at all and let the imposter continue his debauchery, it wouldn't fit her character.

It might even arouse the imposter's suspicion.

So Nora had to act like she was tolerating his unfaithfulness because she loved him.

The imposter seemed relieved. "I got it. Don't worry, I'll cut ties with them."

"Alright, I'm hanging up. I'm going to pick up the kids and take them to the Gordon Manor for dinner," Nora said.

"Okay, once I'm done, I'll head to the Gordon Manor for dinner too."

Nora raised an eyebrow. He said he was coming to the Gordon Manor for dinner, but in reality, he was coming to see Margaret!

Nora hung up the phone and couldn't help but feel a bit sorry for Margaret.

She had a good appearance and a decent job. If she wasn't so greedy, she could definitely find a good man.

But Margaret's greed knew no bounds. Even though she knew Aaron was engaged, she still fantasized about marrying him.

So, she deserved no sympathy for being deceived.

Who knew how Margaret would react if she found out she was being tricked by an imposter and her reputation had been ruined?

Lost in thought, Nora left the hospital and got into Frederick's car, heading to Mont International Kindergarten.

It wasn't long before Mont International Kindergarten let out.

Nora saw Billy leading Samantha and Millie out of the kindergarten.

Billy's face was serious and unsmiling.

Nora felt like laughing.

Ever since Alex went to the Jones family, Billy had really started to take on the role of a big brother.

"Ms. Smith."

The driver from the Gordon Manor had also arrived.

Nora greeted him, and they went to the school gate together to pick up her kids.

"Billy, Samantha, Millie!"

"Mommy!"

Their eyes lit up as they ran towards Nora.

Nora opened her arms and hugged all three, giving each a customary kiss.

"Mommy, are you not busy today?" Samantha asked.

"That's right, I had some free time, so I came to pick you up," Nora said with a smile.

"Is Daddy waiting for us in the car?" Samantha glanced towards the car.

"No, he's busy. He'll come to the Gordon Manor later," Nora replied.

Alex, Billy, and Samantha didn't ask any more questions. Nora had the driver take them to the car while she prepared to get into Frederick's car.

Just then, a female voice called out from behind.

"Ms. Smith, are you here to pick up the kids?"

Nora turned around to see Margaret walking towards her in high heels.

Margaret was wearing the latest Chanel white suit.

Her hair was styled in loose waves over her shoulders, and her makeup was flawless.

She was carrying the latest designer handbag.

In just a few days, Margaret's demeanor had become increasingly like that of a wealthy person.

Nora didn't say anything, just stood there quietly.

Margaret was holding a car key, and a nearby car unlocked.

It was Margaret's new car.

Nora looked over and saw it was a three hundred thousand dollars Maserati.

A gift from the imposter.

That imposter really treated Aaron's money as his own!
