Chapter 1055 Really Didn't Understand

Samantha had her reasons for keeping it a secret that she introduced Wesley. She liked him and dreamed he might like her back someday. If they ever became a couple, she worried people might think less of him for relying on her.

After getting to know Wesley, she realized he was proud and wouldn't want anyone thinking he needed a woman's help. So, she pretended they were meeting for the first time.

Wesley didn't know her thoughts but guessed a bit when he saw her winking at him. He smiled and said, "Samantha is your star student, how could I not be satisfied?"

Derek laughed and told Samantha, "Take good care of Wesley, don't let me down."

"Yes, sir," Samantha replied cheerfully.

Derek left the music room smiling. Wesley then told his assistant, "Elijah, you can go too. I'll practice with Samantha first."

Elijah glanced at Samantha, said nothing, and left with a hum.

Now alone, Wesley looked at Samantha, his eyes full of smiles. His black earring sparkled under the light. He asked softly, "Why are you pretending not to know me?"

Samantha twirled a strand of her hair and smiled. "This way, I can show my admiration for you even more."

Wesley chuckled, looking at her smiling face. "Do you really admire me? Am I really your idol?"

Samantha nodded eagerly. "Yes, I admire you a lot!"

Her clear eyes seemed to speak volumes. Wesley's smile deepened. "Your sweet talk is too good, I almost don't believe it."

Samantha blinked. "Wesley, you can doubt me, but you must believe in your own charm."

She walked to the piano, opened the lid, and sat down. Wesley followed, gently ruffling her hair, his eyes full of affection. "Why are you so good with words?"

His touch sent a jolt through her heart. She looked up, meeting his smiling brown eyes, and felt her heart skip a beat, her ears growing warm.

She thought, 'Oh no, my heart is acting up again. Why does Wesley have to look at me so affectionately?'

Wesley's eyes were both affectionate and a bit melancholic, making anyone feel like they were the woman he liked. That's why he had so many female fans.

Samantha told herself to stay calm. Wesley didn't like her; he treated all his fans this way.

She straightened up, took a deep breath, and suppressed her fluttering thoughts. "Wesley, what song are you going to sing?"

Wesley handed her a sheet of music. "These are lyrics I wrote myself, and Dennis Barnes helped turn them into a song."

Samantha took the sheet music and praised him again. "As expected of my idol, not only can you sing, but you can also write lyrics."

Wesley chuckled. "It's my honor to receive your praise."

Samantha smiled, feeling delighted. She looked down at the lyrics in her hand. It was a song called "First Encounter."

"The most beautiful summer, the most beautiful city, I met you."

"A tender smile, a deep gaze, destined to make one fall."

"First encounter, dazzling the eyes, first encounter, stirring the heart."

"The sunset is your beautiful face, the clear water is your clear eyes."

"Every night, I can't help but think of you."

Samantha read the lyrics softly, her clear eyes blinking. She sighed, "What a lingering love song! Wesley, your lyrics are really good."

Wesley gazed at her sweet profile and asked, "Do you like it?"

"Yes, I feel the love!" Samantha laughed. "When this new song comes out, your fans will go wild. They'll think you're expressing love to them. Wesley, you're too good at this!"

Wesley kept his eyes on her. "Did I flirt with you too?"

His deep eyes seemed to hold a bit of affection. Samantha's heart pounded, feeling like it might jump out of her chest.

She quickly looked away, trying to stay calm. "Of course! You're the prince of love songs now; any woman would feel flirted with by you."

'But the one I most want to flirt with is you!' Wesley thought, looking deeply at Samantha, a hint of tenderness in his eyes.

This song, "First Encounter," was his way of confessing to Samantha. He wondered, 'Doesn't she get it?'

Samantha looked at the sheet music again and started playing it. The first encounter made her think of her first meeting with Wesley.

She understood but didn't dare to think deeply about the lyrics' meaning. Wesley had released many love songs, and each one was sung by many people.

In an interview, the host asked Wesley if he sang so many love songs for a specific person, indirectly asking if he had a girlfriend. Wesley smiled and said the love songs were for his fans. He indirectly told the public he didn't have a specific girl he liked. Singing love songs was just part of his career.

So, even though "First Encounter" made Samantha's heart race and feel like every line was for her, she didn't dare to think further.

Samantha was afraid of wishful thinking. What if it wasn't? How embarrassing would that be? She calmed her emotions and focused on playing.

Samantha had been learning piano since she was a child, and for new pieces, she could play them effortlessly after one try.

Her slender fingers skillfully played the moving melody, and she felt the composition was particularly smooth.

After practicing once, she looked at Wesley. "Wesley, I'm ready. Shall we try it?"

"Okay." Wesley had been watching her play, his eyes full of tenderness.

He walked to her side and sat down, trying a few notes on the piano.

Samantha was stunned. "Wesley, you..."

"Didn't Mr. Bennett tell you? We need to play together." Wesley smiled.

Samantha's eyes widened. "Wesley, when did you learn to play the piano?"

Wesley smiled. "I've been learning all along, but I'm not as good as you. If I mess up, don't laugh at me."

Samantha's eyes were full of admiration. "As expected of my idol, you can do everything, a true all-rounder!"

"You're flattering me." Wesley chuckled and sat up straight. "Shall we start?"

"Okay."
