Chapter 236 It Must Have Been Nora's Doing

Nora's smugness faded at Quinn's deduction. Right, what use was Aaron's undying affection if his family wasn't pleased with her?

"This damned social hierarchy," Quinn sighed, patting her on the shoulder.

After chatting for a while longer, Nora excused herself.

Meanwhile, in a hospital in Houston, Frank lay on a hospital bed, his face contorted with pain.

He was mortified and furious under the strange gazes of the doctors and nurses. He still didn't understand how he and Raymond had both been struck by the same misfortune.

He had never felt such humiliation! Just the thought of him and a middle-aged man in his forties getting together made him want to vomit his dinner from the previous night.

The main problem was the footage of his “escapade” with Raymond that got recorded. Now, people who knew him started dropping hints, asking if the man in the video, was truly him. It was so humiliating!

Frank's temples throbbed as he clenched his fists and pounded them on the sides of the bed. Ignoring the pain, he forced himself to remember what had happened. The image of Nora flashed in his mind, and his expression darkened. Could today's disaster have been her doing?

His father had warned him that Nora had come back different this time. And now, she had the Smith Family in complete chaos.

Yes, it had to be her doing!

A vicious look passed through Frank's eyes as he grabbed his phone and dialed Nora's number.

Coincidentally, Nora had just returned to her lab.

Seeing it was Frank calling, her eyebrows arched in surprise. She didn't reject the call because she was curious to hear what Frank had to say.

"Hello?"

"Nora, did you have someone tamper with my drink?" Frank's voice came through the call with a furious an accusatory tone while he grinded his teeth.

Nora responded with a slight smile, "Why would it be me? It seems like you brought this on yourself!"

Frank's breathing grew heavy, and he roared, "You wretched woman, it was you!"

Nora laughed coldly, "Frank, you're quite ridiculous. If you hadn't harbored malicious intentions, you would've been safe and sound. But you had to scheme against, so who can you truly blame?"

Frank yelled angrily, "Nora, you're really pushing my buttons here, just you wait!"

After hanging up, Nora was deep in thought. Now that things have gotten ugly between them, maybe she should dig into Frank's shady past, just in case she needs some leverage against him.

In the evening, Nora went about her usual business and administered acupuncture to Hollis. Baldwin wasn't home. Only the elderly women were there.

After finishing Hollis's treatment, Hollis insisted that she stay over again for dinner.

Nora politely declined, "No, thank you. I have three kids at home, and I haven't been back early to spend time with them these days. They'll start to get sad and lonely if I'm not around."

Upon hearing this, Hollis teased, "Oh, Nora, that excuse seems a bit weak. Is it because Baldwin isn't here that you're finding it boring and don't want to stay for dinner? Speaking of Baldwin, what's keeping him so busy anyway? I'll make him come back."

Nora couldn't help but give a wry smile.

Auntie Hollis was reading too much into it. That wasn't her intention at all.

"It's not about Baldwin, at all. I honestly have to go. Till we meet again." After saying goodbye to Hollis again, Nora left the villa.

Hollis's expression softened as she asked Mary, who had seen Nora out, "What's Baldwin busy with?"

Mary replied, "He was on his way back, but it seems a last-minute work thing came up, and he couldn't make it."

Hollis showed her displeasure, "That boy, doesn't he know what his top priority should be right now? He needs to get his priorities straight."

Mary chuckled, "Don't rush things. Sometimes, seeing someone every day can lead to a lack of excitement. Nora will be coming over for a long while to treat you, and I'm sure Baldwin will manage to win her over eventually."

At this assurance, Hollis seemed a little less upset and said, "I hope so." Only by distancing Nora from the Gordon Family could she proceed with her next step in her plan for revenge.

Outside, Nora got into her car and received a call from Quinn.

"Nora, where are you?"

Nora replied, "I'm on my way home."

"Let's have dinner."

Nora was surprised and lost her train of thought for a moment, "…" Having dinner invitations wasn't a rarity that day.

Nora responded with a small smile, "I think I'll pass. Heading home for dinner sounds good."

Quinn insisted, "No refusals. You and that celebrity helped me out a ton this afternoon. The least I can do is treat you in return."

Nora was silent, wondering if Quinn had also invited Baldwin. She recalled Quinn talking about finding a boyfriend. Would it be possible to set these two up?

"That's settled. I'll send you the address," Quinn declared before hanging up.

Nora started her car and drove off, pondering the possibilities.
