Chapter 504 Who is Nora
Alex twisted the door open and ran out, and Erin followed suit.
Nora looked at Erin; pity flashed across her face when she thought about her background. How could such a beautiful child have such an unreliable father?
Nora really wanted to take her home. However, as soon as she thought about Matthew asking her to marry him, she quickly dismissed the idea.
There are many children in the world with unfortunate backgrounds, and she can't possibly bring them all home to raise.
So, she could only apologize to this lovely girl. Nora had already made up her mind.
She bent down and gently touched Erin's little head. "Erin, I have to go. Can you call me Aunt Nora?"
Erin looked at her, and after a while, she finally said those two words, "Aunt Nora."
Her voice was like that of a little kitten, gentle and adorable, which made Nora feel even more fond of her.
Nora kissed Erin's sweet little face and said, "You be good now; I have to leave."
Perhaps they won't see each other again in the future. Nora felt a bit reluctant. Erin's small hand held onto Nora's, showing that she didn't want Nora to leave.
Nora pursed her lips. Finally, she firmly let go of Erin's hand. Then she added, "I have something to do, so I won't be able to accompany you."
After saying that, she looked at Matthew, saying, "Mr. Jones, if you change your mind, send me a message. Goodbye."
Matthew silently watched Nora and Alex's figures disappear at the doorway. His hand was gently shaken. He lowered his head and saw his daughter's big eyes, feeling confused.
Matthew slowly squatted down, picked up Erin, and sat on the sofa, saying, "You're asking if I made Aunt Nora angry, right?" Erin nodded.
Matthew touched her soft hair and replied, "Yes, I made her angry."
Erin looked at him and then playfully hit him with her small hand, her tender face looking serious.
Matthew chuckled, then pinched her little face and explained, "Do you like Aunt Nora so much? You even hit your dad for her. That makes me sad."
Erin's brow furrowed, and then she picked up the hand that hit him and blew on it.
She said, "I like Daddy. Aunt Nora is a girl, so don't make her angry." Erin spoke each word gently and cutely.
Softness flashed across Matthew's face, and he added, "Erin, you're amazing. You can say such long sentences now! Okay, I will apologize to Nora."
Outside, Nora entered the elevator with Alex. She was still thinking about Matthew, so she remained silent.
Alex, by her side, was also thinking about Matthew. He was certain that Reginald was Matthew! This was the trouble he caused for his mom!
Alex hesitated for a moment but decided to confess to his mommy. He said, "Mommy, I have something to tell you."
Nora snapped out of her thoughts and looked down at him, asking, "What is it?"
Alex said, "Actually, Uncle Matthew is Reginald, the one you video-called last time."
Nora's eyes widened in surprise, inquiring, "Is that true?"
"Yes." Alex felt a bit guilty and replied, "I think he might have deliberately approached you after seeing your face last time."
Nora was speechless. It was indeed possible! So, it was her son who brought this trouble upon her!
"Alex, what else can I say?" Nora asked and felt somewhat helpless.
Alex wrinkled his little nose, asking, "Mommy, does Erin not have a mommy?"
"That's right," Nora said.
"So, Uncle Matthew probably wants you to be Erin's mommy," Alex said.
He guessed right and just expressed his thoughts. "Mommy, if that's the case, you won't agree to Uncle Matthew, right?" Alex asked.
Alex asked and looked up at Nora, worry in his expression.
"Of course not. I don't like him," Nora replied.
Alex sighed in relief and continued, "Then I can rest assured."
Nora lowered her head to look at him, inquiring, "Why do you say that?"
"I was worried that you might like Uncle Matthew!" Alex said, "After all, Alex is handsome, and Erin is very cute."
Nora chuckled and retorted, "Am I that shallow? Would I fall for someone just because he's good-looking?"
"Of course not. Mommy, you are very loyal," Alex quickly added.
As long as his mommy didn't like Matthew, he would feel less guilty toward Uncle Aaron.
The elevator reached the first floor. Nora smiled and held his hand as they walked out of the Seaton Club's entrance.
Alex saw Frederick getting out of the car to greet them.
He said to Nora, "Mommy, can you not tell Uncle Aaron that Uncle Matthew is a hacker? I'm afraid he'll hit me."
Nora laughed and promised, and said, "He wouldn't dare."
"Then please don't tell him." he pleaded again.
"All right, I won't. It will be our little secret, okay?" Nora responded.
After all, she probably wouldn't see Matthew again in the future. So, it didn't matter whether she told him or not.
In the morning, Ebenezer, Kenneth, and Howard were all in the Imperial Hospital ward.
Emma, in front of the three, asked Kenneth to divorce Sandy immediately.
Kenneth neither agreed nor disagreed. He said, "Mom, you currently have leukemia. Let's talk about my relationship with Sandy after you get better."
This sentence instantly shifted Emma's attention, and then she asked, "What did you say? I have leukemia?"
"Yes, Howard and I have already had our blood drawn. We are preparing for compatibility testing for you. But the results are not out yet," Kenneth said.
Emma's face turned very pale, disbelief written all over it. Howard quickly added, "Mom, don't worry. Your illness can definitely be cured."
Emma instantly felt weak, no longer concerned about Sandy. How did she get leukemia? She can only be saved if the compatibility testing is successful.
But if it's not successful, then she's doomed! A wave of pain hit her head. Emma closed her eyes, holding her head in agony.
"Mom, don't get agitated, and don't think too much. Trust me, your illness can definitely be cured," Howard hurriedly said.
Ebenezer also comforted her, saying, "Howard is right. Emma, you always overthink things. After you recover, you should relax like Chloe and travel the world."
Emma was stunned when she heard this. Then she opened her eyes and asked, "Chloe went to travel the world?"
Ebenezer said, "Don't you remember? Before you fell down the stairs, Chloe came to our house. She had a long chat with you in the bedroom. After your conversation, she went out to travel the world."
After Emma's accident, he informed the Woodhouse family where he got this information.
Emma thought for a moment, but she couldn't remember and replied, "I don't recall. Who did Chloe travel the world with? Was it Arthur?"
"No, she went alone." Ebenezer said, "You probably don't remember what Chloe told you either. Nora helped Chloe recover from her illness. After she regained consciousness, she got divorced from Arthur."
What? Chloe's illness has been cured? And she got divorced from Arthur?
Emma was surprised and asked, "So, who is Nora?"
