Chapter 451 Indulging Her
"Can we start eating now?" Aaron asked with a smile, handing the utensils to Nora.
Nora glanced at the food on the table, feeling surprised. It was corn chowder!
The people of Linwood City liked spicy food and generally didn't care for the sweet dishes that were popular in Houston.
Nora took the utensils from Aaron and asked, "How did your cafeteria have this?"
"I told Noe to have the chef make it specially for you, all according to your taste," Aaron replied.
Nora glanced at the dishes on the table, and they were indeed ones she liked.
"Am I thoughtful?" Aaron boasted to her.
Nora looked at him and said, "You don't have to do this."
Aaron questioned, "Is it not necessary? Don't you like these dishes?"
"I do like them. But if you have the chef make dishes according to my taste, how am I supposed to experience the fabled meals that can make me gain ten pounds in a month?" Nora said.
Aaron paused for a moment, then chuckled, and said, "My bad. Tomorrow, I promise not to do this again."
Nora had no intention of coming back tomorrow!
She didn't want to be the center of attention anymore.
Nora blinked and didn't say anything as she picked up her fork to start eating.
Aaron also remained silent and elegantly began eating.
Just as they were almost finished eating, someone knocked on the door.
Aaron grabbed a napkin to wipe his mouth and said, "Come in."
The person who entered was Ethan Hale, the manager of the PR department. He was holding a document.
"Mr. Gordon, I have just selected three available female artists. Please take a look," Ethan said.
After Betsy was replaced, Ethan knew that Aaron valued this advertising shoot. Thus, he took this matter seriously and immediately showed Aaron the photos of the three female artists.
"Put it down," Aaron said as he wiped the corners of Nora's mouth with a wet napkin.
"Yes," Ethan responded, seeing Aaron's behavior, he was shocked.
'Is he still the cold and ruthless Mr. Gordon? With his status, women should serve him diligently. Why is he serving her? Mr. Gordon spoils Mrs. Gordon too much.' Ethan silently pondered. He didn't dare to linger, so he left the office.
Aaron handed the document to Nora and said, "Take a look. Choose one spokesperson from inside."
Nora paused. "Should I make the selection?" she asked.
"Yes. It's up to you," Aaron said.
"I am not suitable. I have bad taste," Nora hesitated.
Aaron looked at her and said, "Who said that? Your taste in people is excellent. Otherwise, how could you have chosen me?"
Nora was speechless.
Aaron was constantly trying to get her attention.
Nora found it amusing but didn't refuse anymore. She took the document and glanced at it.
At first glance, all three actresses inside were beautiful.
She saw Sunny's photo on it.
Nora arched her eyebrows slightly and stared at her picture.
Since the incident where Sunny and Suzy conspired against Aaron, Nora had prepared to make Sunny a weapon against Suzy. However, Nora didn't end up using Sunny. Suzy brought trouble to herself, leaving the entertainment industry.
Now Sunny, with the resources Aaron previously provided, had achieved some success in the entertainment industry.
As long as Sunny didn't cause trouble, Nora wouldn't deal with her for the time being.
However, she wanted Sunny to be someone other than the one to film the advertisement with Baldwin.
Nora rejected Sunny and looked at the other two actresses.
The other two actresses had some fame, but she needed to familiarize themselves with their personalities.
So, who should she choose?
Nora stared at the photos of all the candidates, and suddenly, a person popped into her mind.
She looked at Aaron and asked, "I'm not satisfied with any of these three. Can I choose someone else?"
Aaron said, "Of course. As the president's wife, you have the final say."
Nora looked at him sternly but didn't bother correcting his wording. She tentatively asked, "Then how about giving Becky a chance?"
Becky had been learning acting from Baldwin, and Nora felt it was time for her to see the results of her training.
"Sure," Aaron replied without asking further questions, immediately agreeing.
Nora was somewhat moved. She asked, "Aaron, don't you want to know why I chose Becky? She is not a famous artist; she isn't even an artist at all."
Aaron said, "I don't need to ask; I trust your judgment."
Did he trust her unconditionally?
Nora felt a bit guilty for no reason. "What if I just said it impulsively?" she asked.
Aaron looked at her and said, "As long as it's your decision, I will definitely help you fulfill it."
Aaron's expression was serious. He stared at her with a gaze filled with affection.
Nora felt happy.
"Aaron, this isn't appropriate. As you said, you're the president, and you shouldn't mix personal feelings with work," Nora playfully chided.
Her tone was soft, and she was wearing a gentle expression.
Aaron smiled, "Nora, don't you trust me? You said I am the president of the conglomerate, and our company has the top team. It's easy to make a female artist famous."
So that's how it was.
Therefore, his unconditional fulfillment of her request was partially self-centered.
Nora understood. Then she heard Aaron say, "Of course, I do spoil you genuinely. Keep feeling touched."
Nora didn't know what to say.
Aaron was good at pleasing people!
She truly admired him!
Nora laughed, and stated, "So, is it decided then?"
"Okay," Aaron agreed.
After joking around, Aaron then said seriously, "Speaking of Becky, I forgot to tell you something. Charles's company is on the verge of bankruptcy, and he has been desperately looking for someone to invest in it. I plan to acquire his company."
He had promised not to let Charles off the hook.
During this period, he had been secretly executing his plan.
When Charles was mentioned, the smile on Nora's face faded a bit.
She was naturally delighted to see Charles in a desperate situation.
However, Nora was still worried.
"Aaron, does Charles still have evidence that can threaten my father? If his company goes bankrupt, will he try to blackmail my father to help rebuild his career again?" Nora asked.
Upon hearing this, Aaron sneered, and a hint of ferocity flashed across his face.
Aaron assured, "Don't worry about that. Your background has already been exposed, and I have made arrangements. Even if Charles claims you are just an illegitimate child, the result of a one-night stand, no one will believe his one-sided claims."
"Moreover, should he choose to voice his opinions, I will subtly imply that his statements may stem from the mental strain induced by the company's financial challenges," he said. Aaron's expression was icy.
Nora, however, was not afraid of him; she just felt touched. She held his hand and sincerely thanked him, "Aaron, thank you."
Aaron's cold demeanor instantly softened. He held her hand and pulled her onto his lap. "Nora, you've always known what kind of gratitude I like," he teased.
Nora was speechless. Aaron was always like this; he could make her emotions disappear in a second!
