Chapter 767 It Was Her

"Aaron, you and Nora better keep an eye on her; don't let her go crazy in public," Caden hesitated for a moment and cautioned.

This was because he was afraid she would resort to violence!

Jeffery glared at him. "I wouldn't bother fighting with a bitch like her!"

Caden retorted impatiently, "You better remember what you just said."

Jeffery coldly smirked. "You better not let me catch you in bed with someone else, or I'll ruin you with a pair of scissors!"

"Do you dare!"

"See if I dare!"

Seeing Caden and Jeffery about to argue again, Aaron's breath sank, a sign that he was getting angry.

Nora quickly held Aaron's hand tightly, interlocking their fingers, silently comforting him.

Aaron glanced sideways at Nora, and his emotions slowly calmed down.

However, there was still a hint of sarcasm in his tone.

"Are you leaving or not? Should I gather the guests now and have them judge who is right and who is wrong?"

Caden and Jeffery glared at each other and remained silent.

Nora thought for a moment. "Aaron, you stay here to entertain the guests with Dad; I'll accompany Mom to the dressing room."

She didn't want him to accompany them.

That was fine.
He was unwilling to witness the conflict between his mom and that singer.

Aaron agreed.

Nora smiled faintly and said to Jeffery, "Mom, let's go."

Jeffery was genuinely surprised that Nora stood by her side.

Suddenly, her gaze towards Nora softened slightly.

She responded and walked inside with Nora.

Watching their backs, Caden hesitated to speak.

He really wanted to remind Nora that she needed to keep a close eye on that shrew and stopped her when she resorted to violence.

Aaron glanced at Caden. "If you're so worried, why not follow them and see?"

"Alright."

Caden subconsciously took a step forward.

Just as he was about to do something, he looked at Aaron and felt the mocking gaze, so he immediately retracted his step.

"With Nora there, your mom should behave a bit," Caden said.

Aaron wasn't really interested in discussing Caden's personal matters.

But he still asked, "Let me ask you again, is there really nothing between you and that singer?"

Caden immediately protested, "God, there really is nothing between us. She was brought by Yancy, and we just listened to her sing and chat casually; We are just friends."

Hearing Caden's words, Aaron couldn't help but chuckle.

He was skeptical of Caden's words, considering Caden's not-so-glorious past.

"What are you laughing at? I know you don't believe me, but I am not a young man anymore. I've long passed the age of fooling around everywhere. Now I just seek spiritual fulfillment because I really have no common ground with your mom."

Caden sighed and continued, "Aaron, do you know how painful it is to face your mom every day, like talking to a brick wall? Do you know how miserable that is?"

Aaron glanced at Caden, seeing his frustrated expression, but he remained indifferent.

This was the marriage Caden chose; if he didn't manage it well, he couldn't blame anyone.

"So, are you emotionally cheating?" Aaron asked.

Caden replied, "If that's how you want to put it. The girls outside are lively and understanding; your mother can't compare to them at all. It's difficult for me to stay faithful to your mother."

Aaron pursed his lips slightly and remained silent.

He didn't care if Caden was in love with someone else, but he was a bit curious about what the lively and understanding woman Caden mentioned looked like.

In the dressing room, the woman inside was only halfway through her makeup.

Nora and Jeffery entered.

The woman turned to look at them, and when she saw Nora, her eyes flashed, and her hand holding the eyebrow pencil tightened suddenly.

As soon as Nora entered, she began to scrutinize her.

As she looked at the woman's half-clean face, a hint of doubt flashed in her eyes.

"Are you the singer who has been calling my husband all the time recently?" Jeffery asked.

Jeffery looked the woman up and down, her tone filled with anger and disdain.

The woman stood up, lowering her head slightly. "You are Mrs. Gordon, Mrs. Gordon, hello."

The voice sounded familiar.

Nora narrowed her eyes; it really was her.

Betsy!

Nora remembered that two months ago, Betsy was messing around with Jackson, who had plastic surgery.

Later, Nora deliberately brought this matter to Margaret's attention.

So Margaret had Noah investigate Betsy and found out about her chaotic private life.

Margaret then posted the photos of Betsy accompanying clients online.

After that, Betsy was completely blacklisted from the entertainment industry.

Nora didn't expect Betsy to turn into a singer.

And to be called a vixen by Jeffery!

No wonder when Betsy saw Nora last night, she looked at her with such hatred.

Betsy was resentful towards her.

It was because of her, Nora, that Betsy was forced to leave the entertainment industry.

Then Betsy encountered Jackson again, being used as a pawn by him, accompanying various clients, and eventually being blocklisted again due to scandals.

Betsy's experiences were enough to drive anyone to the brink of collapse.

So, Betsy's resentment towards Nora didn't just materialize out of thin air!

"What's your name?" Jeffery didn't recognize Betsy and asked with suppressed anger.

"My name is Betsy Ward," Betsy replied with her head bowed.

"Lift your head," Jeffery commanded.

Betsy slowly raised her head, not daring to speak.

Jeffery looked her up and down. "Are you still a student?"

Betsy shook her head. "No."

With a stern face, Jeffery asked, "Tell me honestly, have you slept with Caden?"

"No," Betsy replied, "I only met Mr. Gordon through Mr. Yancy's introduction; I just sing for them."

Jeffery coldly smiled. "Let me tell you, you better not let me catch you seducing Caden. Otherwise, you'll regret it!"

Betsy lowered her eyes and remained silent.

Nora looked at her, thinking that Betsy inherently had a promiscuous nature, and she wasn't sure if she was innocent with Caden.

Not to mention fact that Caden was a philanderer, just considering Betsy's situation.

After being blacklisted from the entertainment industry, Betsy had nothing left.

Now that she finally encountered a wealthy and affectionate old man like Caden, Betsy would definitely use any means to seize this opportunity.

People who were used to luxurious living found it hard to accept a life of poverty again.

As long as Betsy held onto Caden, even if he didn't divorce, Betsy could return to a life of luxury being his mistress.

So she wouldn't give up this opportunity.

Seeing Betsy make no response to Jeffery's warning, Nora knew she didn't take Jeffery's words to heart at all.

Nora's eyes flickered, and she said, "Betsy, you should know who my husband is. I hope you can maintain the necessary distance with Caden. If you try to sabotage the marriage between Caden and Jeffery behind the scenes, my husband won't let you off easily. You will definitely have a very miserable end. Think about it carefully."
