Chapter 603 Found
Upon hearing this, Nora clenched her fists.
"Did you find out who caused Aaron's accident before?" Nora asked quickly.
"Yes," Frederick replied.
"Who was it?" Nora asked eagerly.
Frederick didn't hide it. "Baldwin Brown's mother, Hollis, do you remember her?"
Of course, Nora remembered Hollis.
Nora's face changed slightly, and she asked, "Was it her?"
"Yes," Frederick nodded and said, "Hollis bribed the workers responsible for maintaining the cars to tamper with Mr. Gordon's car."
Nora's face turned pale, her chest heaving.
She never thought that Hollis would do such a malicious thing.
"Why would Hollis do this? Does she have a grudge against Aaron?" Nora asked.
Frederick remained silent.
Suddenly, something flashed in Nora's mind.
She remembered what Baldwin had told her about Hollis' past.
When Hollis was young, she was impregnated by a wealthy man who then abandoned her.
The child she bore also tragically passed away.
Could it be that the man who impregnated Hollis was Aaron's father, Caden?
So, Hollis targeted Caden's only son, Aaron, to make Caden taste the pain of losing a beloved child.
Nora recalled when she came to Lindwood City, Aaron followed her along.
The thought that Aaron even stayed with her at Quinn's villa sent shivers down Nora's spine.
If Hollis wanted Aaron dead back then, it would have been easy.
But later, for some inexplicable reason, Hollis lost her temper and made Aaron leave Quinn Johnson's villa.
After that, Aaron remained unharmed.
So, in the end, Hollis backed off.
And now that Aaron had another accident, she had to find out if Hollis was behind it!
Nora quickly pulled out her phone and dialed Hollis' number.
The call was quickly answered, and Hollis's cheerful voice came through the line. "Nora, long time no see. What reminded you to call me? I thought you had forgotten about me."
Nora forced a smile, not in the mood for small talk with Hollis. She said, "Hollis, Aaron had another accident. Did you arrange this one, too?"
Upon hearing this, Hollis was visibly taken aback.
After a moment of silence, she said, "You've found out about Aaron's previous accident, right?"
Nora took a deep breath and said, "Yes, I know you were behind Aaron's previous accident. So, is it you this time as well?"
Nora's voice trembled involuntarily, not wanting to hear Hollis confirm her suspicions.
Hollis said, "It wasn't me this time. I've let go of my grudge against the Gordon family long ago."
It was not Hollis!
Nora couldn't help but sigh in relief.
It wasn't Hollis, which was a relief.
Otherwise, Nora would have hated herself forever for curing Hollis's leg injury.
"Why did you seek revenge on Aaron? Was it because of what Caden did to you?" Nora couldn't help but ask.
Hollis said, "Yes, my child died, which changed my personality drastically, making me paranoid and eccentric, leading me to target Aaron. I'm sorry; if you want to report me, I'll accept it."
Upon hearing this, Nora gripped her phone tightly, pursed her lips, and said, "Now that Aaron has had another accident and he is nowhere to be found, we'll talk once we find him."
Hollis fell silent and said, "How could Aaron have another accident?"
Nora said, "Aaron was on a business trip in Highty City when his car suddenly caught fire; whether it was accidental or intented is unknown."
After a moment of silence, Hollis said, "Nora, I wasn't the only one behind Aaron's previous accident. His uncle, Dominic Gordon, was also involved. I suspect Dominic might be behind this latest accident as well."
Nora knew that Dominic and Aaron had always had a strained relationship, and she could see the pieces falling into place.
"I understand. I'll have it investigated. If it were Dominic, I wouldn't let him off the hook," Nora said.
Hollis said, "Nora, I apologize once again."
Nora didn't say much because she couldn't find the words to forgive Hollis.
If forgiveness was to be given, it should come from Aaron.
Nora hung up and stood quietly, letting the sea breeze brush her face. Her mind was in turmoil, making it hard for her to think.
"Ms. Smith, are you cold? Do you want to sit in the car?" Frederick asked.
"I'm fine," Nora said; her mind was too chaotic now; only the cold wind could calm her down.
"Ms. Smith, why don't you go back first? I'll handle things here," Johnnie suggested.
Nora shook her head and said, "I'm not going back."
She wanted to wait here for his news.
The Jones' intel network would surely find out about Aaron soon, but it needed time.
As the night fell, there was still no news from the Jones family.
The weather was still cold in February. Nora had been standing in the freezing wind for hours, her lips turning purple from the cold.
Frederick couldn't help but remind her several times before she finally got into the car. He turned on the heater to warm up the car.
Nora watched the waves rolling on the sea, her heart anxious.
At that moment, her phone rang, breaking the silence of the car.
Nora's heart skipped a beat, thinking it might be Alex calling.
But when she picked up, it was an unfamiliar number.
Nora felt a twinge of disappointment in her eyes, but she answered the call, "Who is this?"
"Ms. Smith, this is Highty City Hospital," a woman's voice came through the line.
The hospital was calling.
Nora was puzzled, asking, "What's the matter?"
"Do you know Aaron?"
Aaron!
Nora's eyes lit up; she said, "Yes, I know him. What happened to him?"
"Aaron is receiving treatment. Can you come to the hospital immediately and cover his treatment costs for him?"
The call ended after the message.
Nora's emotions surged, saying excitedly, "Frederick, Aaron is alive. He's at Highty City Hospital. Let's go there quickly."
Frederick perked up and started the car immediately.
On the way, Nora was worried about Aaron and the extent of his injuries.
She silently prayed that he would be okay.
Thinking of something, Nora called Alex again, explained the situation to him, and told him not to search anymore.
Alex also sighed in relief and said, "Okay, Mom, call me if you need anything."
Nora replied, "Okay."
Forty minutes later, they arrived at the hospital.
After some inquiries, Nora saw the man lying on the bed in the emergency room. His forehead was bandaged, and his face was slightly swollen.
It was indeed Aaron.
"Aaron!" Nora hurried to his bedside.
Aaron glanced at her and tried to sit up, saying, "Nora, you're here."
Nora helped him up quickly, her eyes full of worry. "Aaron, are you okay?"
She was about to check his pulse.
Aaron reached out and held Nora's hand, saying, "Don't worry, I'm not seriously injured. The doctor said it's just a minor concussion, nothing more."
At that moment, the doctor walked in and asked, "Are the patient's family here?"
Nora stood up straight and said, "I'm his family. Doctor, how is he?"
"It's nothing serious, just a minor concussion. Rest more, and he'll be fine," the doctor said, then asked Nora to go pay the bill.
