Chapter 379 Please Have Some Coffee.
Flynt raised an eyebrow. "Just a heads up, I'm only interested in simple-minded women," he reminded. He didn't want to get involved with a difficult woman.
Anna's emotions gradually settled, and then she found a bottle from under the pillow. "Isn't there a way to make her obediently turn into a simple-minded woman?" she implied.
Flynt narrowed his eyes. "You want to make her addicted?" he questioned.
Anna's lips smirked coldly. "Yes, once she's addicted, she will have to do as I say. By then, I will make her wish she were dead!" she declared.
Flynt took a sip of his drink and said, "I'll help you, but what do I get out of it?"
Anna slowly walked up to him, her hand moving down his chest. "Whatever you want, I'll satisfy you," she offered.
Flynt looked at her seductive face and embraced her, pulling her closer to himself. "Anything?" he asked, doubting her words.
"Yes," Anna assured.
"Then be more proactive tonight," Flynt demanded.
Anna saw his harmless smile and understood what he meant. She didn't say anything and slowly knelt, opening his robe...
At the Seaton Club, Nora accompanied Kevin until evening, taught him a few tips to help him sleep, and then prepared to leave.
Kevin had slept for the entire afternoon and was now refreshed, a little reluctant to let Nora go.
But he was a gentleman and wouldn't force her, so he took Nora's phone number and invited her to visit France whenever she was available.
After exchanging a few pleasantries with him, Nora left with Aaron.
Edric and Jenny saw them off. "Dr. Smith, I can't thank you enough. I will always remember your kindness," Edric remarked.
Nora replied, "There's no need for that. I hope you treat Jenny well. She's my best friend, and if you dare mistreat her, my medical equipment will teach you a lesson!"
Edric coughed lightly and reached out to hold Jenny. "Don't worry, I will treat Jenny well," stated.
Nora's face softened a bit, and she said to Jenny, "Jenny, I'm leaving now. Give me a call if you need anything."
Jenny's heart warmed. "Okay, take care of yourselves on the way, you and Mr. Gordon," she replied.
'A true friend is rare in life. Having such a good friend in her life is enough!' Jenny thought.
Nora and Aaron left the club and got into the car to return to the villa.
Nora was already exhausted from the day's events, she fell asleep leaning against Aaron during the ride.
When the car arrived at the villa, she still didn't wake up.
Aaron didn't wake her up either and carried her inside the villa.
Nora was fast asleep, completely unaware, as Aaron laid her down on the bed and helped her undress without any difficulty.
Aaron gazed at her serene sleeping face and gently kissed her forehead, filled with warmth in his eyes.
After taking a shower, he lay down next to her and embraced her, falling asleep together.
The following day, Nora woke up around noon time. As she saw the golden light filtering through the dark curtains, she lazily stretched. She checked her phone and saw that it was almost 10.00 a.m.
Someone had put her phone on silent mode.
Luckily, she didn't have anything urgent to do today, so she didn't need to hurry to get out of bed.
There were a few messages on her phone. Nora first opened Aaron's message.
Aaron: [I went to the office, remember to have breakfast.]
In just a few words, there was a lot of warmth. Nora curled her lips and replied.
Nora: [Got it.]
After sending a message to Aaron, she looked at the other messages. There was one from Jenny and another from Evella.
Nora was curious about what Evella had sent her. So she opened the message and read,
Evella: [Nora, are you free this afternoon?]
Nora blinked and replied.
Nora: [What's up? Do you need something?]
Shortly after sending the message, Evella called.
"Nora, do you have any free time this afternoon?" Evella asked, her tone was cheerful, and Nora thought for a moment before asking, "What time in the afternoon?"
"Probably around 3.00 or 4.00 p.m.," Evella said.
Nora thought for a moment, and informed, "I should be free at 3.00 or 4.00 p.m."
All she had to do today was wait for Ryan to come for his treatment.
"Then let me treat you to coffee," Evella said with a smile.
Nora was surprised, "Sure! But why treat me to coffee suddenly? Is today your birthday?"
Evella said, "No! You know, Flynt and I are officially together. You're my best friend, so I wanted to celebrate with you."
Upon hearing this, Nora was surprised. "You got Flynt so quickly?" she asked.
It had only been a few days! That musician was too easy to win over.
"He said it was love at first sight for me, and I was also surprised," Evella chuckled.
Nora had her suspicions, but said, "Really? Well, congratulations! You got what you wanted!"
"Thank you. So it's settled then. See you in the afternoon," Evella said excitedly.
"Okay," Nora agreed.
After hanging up, Nora thought about what Evella had said, and a hint of skepticism crossed her face.
Flynt fell in love at first sight with Evella? It was unbelievable! It wasn't that Evella had any flaws, but Flynt was a famous musician. With his current fame, he must have plenty of female fans who threw themselves onto him, and he must have met many girls as well.
For a man who has seen so many girls, wouldn't he be tired of them? But he unexpectedly fell in love with Evella at first sight. It seems like something is amiss.
But when it comes to relationships, it's all about magnetism. Perhaps Flynt saw her in the crowd with just a glance?
Nora's mind was filled with thoughts as she smiled and silently blessed Evella.
Ding, there was a message.
Aaron: [Are you awake already?]
The message came from Aaron.
Nora: [Yes.]
Soon, Aaron called. "Who were you just talking to?" he asked.
Nora was surprised, "How do you know I was on the phone?" she inquired.
"I called you; I've been waiting on the line," Aaron explained.
Nora realized, and replied, "Evella asked me to have coffee with her this afternoon. She said she has a boyfriend and wanted me to have a look."
She explained Evella and Flynt's situation.
Aaron didn't comment much about it and said, "Are you hungry? Are you still lying in bed?"
Nora scratched her hair, got out of bed, and lifted the covers, "I'm already up," she informed.
"Well, hurry up and go eat," Aaron instructed.
"Okay," she replied.
As Nora listened to his instructions, her heart warmed. After hanging up, she replied to Jenny's message and then went to the bathroom to freshen up.
On the other end of the phone.
In a clean and bright CEO's office, Aaron, wearing his usual black outfit, sat on a large chair His tall figure exuded an air of nobility and arrogance under the light.
After hanging up, the soft light in his eyes dimmed slightly as he found a phone number and dialed it.
After a few rings, Quinn's charming voice came through the line.
"Hello?" Quinn answered.
"It's me, Aaron," he greeted.
Aaron's slender fingers habitually tapped the desk.
"I know. Why do you have time to call me today?" Quinn asked.
"I want to borrow someone from you," Aaron informed.
"Who?" Quinn asked.
"Ross," Aaron simply said.
Chapter 380 Swallowing It
Upon hearing Ross' name, Quinn hesitated for a moment. "What do you want him for?" he asked.
Ross was the young man who helped Quinn interrogate Sunny after Aaron was set up by Suzy and stayed in the same room with Sunny.
"I want to help him." Aaron's dark eyes deepened.
Quinn giggled. "No merit, no reward, Aaron. You're a businessman; you're not that kind-hearted. Come on, tell me, what do you want him to do?" she questioned. She knew him all too well.
Aaron didn't hide his motives either, and said, "You've heard of the Rochester Society, right? I want him to swallow it!" His tone was dark and vicious.
Quinn remained silent for a moment, his voice becoming more serious. "Aaron, that's a significant gang. Why suddenly consider having Ross swallow it?"
Aaron's dark eyes turned cold and indifferent. "Because that gang has been supporting unethical behavior. It's time for a change in leadership."
That's what he and Fabio had discussed, cutting off the Turner family's young heir, Ken.
Without the Rochester Society to rely on, Ken was like a toothless tiger. Let's see how formidable he can be now!
"All right, I'll have him contact you. You can discuss the details." Quinn didn't ask any further questions.
"All right," Aaron replied and hung up the phone.
Inside the mansion, Nora finished getting ready and glanced at the time, realizing it was already past noon.
Aaron had hired a maid to help in the kitchen and prepared lunch for her.
As she was eating, Nora received a call from Mrs. Woodhouse, asking when she would go to the hospital to treat Ryan.
Nora calculated the time. "I'll be there in another hour," she replied.
"Great, I'll wait for you," Mrs. Woodhouse, responded.
After finishing her meal, Nora quickly tidied up and had Frederick drive her to the hospital.
At this moment, Ryan had finished his IV drip and was sitting on the bed, video-chatting with someone on his tablet.
When Nora arrived, he eagerly exclaimed, "Aunt Nora, I'm video chatting with Samantha!"
Upon hearing this, a trace of surprise flashed in Nora's eyes. Is it almost nap time for the children in kindergarten? And yet, her daughter was able to video chat with Ryan?
Nora walked over and leaned in to look at the screen, indeed seeing her own daughter's delicate and adorable face.
"Mommy!" Samantha smiled mischievously at Nora.
Nora asked, "Samantha, whose phone are you using to video chat with Ryan?"
"It's Ann's phone. I'm going to give it back to her and then take a nap after this," Samantha blinked her large grape-like eyes, her voice sweet and gentle.
Ann was the homeroom teacher taking care of the three children. She certainly spoils the little ones.
Nora silently criticized in her heart.
Samantha and Ryan exchanged a few more words and then ended the call. Ryan looked at the screen of his tablet, seeming a bit reluctant to let go.
Mrs. Woodhouse smiled and explained to Nora, "Yesterday, after school, Ryan video-chatted with a few children. They agreed to chat again at noon today. Samantha is so cute and asks the teacher sweetly, so the teacher lets her borrow the phone."
Nora curved her lips into a smile. She had always known her daughter was a social butterfly.
Last night, she was busy helping Edric secure a contract and didn't have much time to talk to the children.
Samantha was considerate and knew that Ryan would be bored in the hospital, so she took the time to accompany him and chat.
"All right, shall we begin then?" Nora said as she took out the treatment kit and began treating Ryan.
Because of the previous treatment, Ryan wasn't afraid of the treatment tools anymore. He remained quiet throughout the whole process and didn't cause any trouble.
After Nora helped Ryan with the needle, Mrs. Woodhouse started chatting with her about daily life.
"My husband told me that the Turner family's child was expelled from the primary school in Lindwood City, and all other schools here refused to accept him."
Upon hearing this, Nora raised an eyebrow in surprise and asked, "Really? Why?"
"Because he bullied many children in school."
Mrs. Woodhouse continued, "Before, nobody dared to accuse him because they were afraid of the Turner family's influence. But this time, your older brother stepped in, and those children who were once bullied by him, as well as their parents, all accused him. The school couldn't handle the pressure and expelled him."
'So that's what happened. My older brother was standing up for the three children.' Nora pondered.
Nora smiled, and replied, "If children like him aren't properly educated, they will certainly get into trouble in the future."
Mrs. Woodhouse nodded and spoke, "Yes, but with a father like that, it's probably difficult to keep the child from going astray."
Nora agreed, and said, "That's true. So, he has no school to attend now?"
Mrs. Woodhouse replied, "It's surely not an option in Lindwood City. So he either has to transfer to another school or go abroad. I guess the Turner family will send him abroad."
The Turner family thinks that sending the child abroad is the best outcome for him.
Nora said, "Overseas is not as peaceful as it is domestically. That child should prepare for the consequences."
They say that evil begets evil and that children should experience what it's like to be bullied. She had no sympathy for that child at all.
Aiden had such a wicked mind at such a young age.
After chatting for a while, when the time was up, Nora removed the needle from Ryan. She stayed at the hospital for a little longer and then received a message from Evella about the location where she wanted to have coffee.
"All right, Ryan, rest well. I will come to see you again tomorrow." Nora patted Ryan's head and prepared to go to the appointment.
"Bye, Aunt Nora," Ryan grinned as he bid her farewell.
"You're leaving? Won't you stay a bit longer?" Mrs. Woodhouse tried to keep her for a moment.
"I made an appointment with a friend to have coffee this afternoon, so I will leave first," Nora said.
"All right, take your time on the way," Mrs. Woodhouse reminded.
"Okay." Nora replied, then left the hospital and Frederick drove her to a coffee shop called Fung.
Despite the coffee shop not being in the city center, it was a popular place for people to drink coffee and chat or for businessmen to discuss business.
The coffee shop had four floors, elegant decor inside, and gentle background music floating in the air. People in it seemed to find a place for their restless hearts.
Nora followed the waiter to the designated private room.
Upon entering, she saw Evella and Flynt sitting face to face.
At that moment, Flynt was skillfully brewing coffee while Evella looked at him with admiration in her eyes.
Evella greeted, "Nora, you're here." Upon hearing Nora enter, Evella quickly got up to greet her.
Nora smiled and walked towards her.
"Hello, Nora." Flynt also got up to greet her, calling Nora by her name.
Nora greeted, "Hello."
Evella pulled Nora to sit beside her.
Flynt also took a seat and continued brewing coffee.
He was dressed more casually today. He wore a light-colored sweater paired with jeans, giving off a more sunny and handsome vibe. His coffee brewing skills were very proficient, indicating that he brewed coffee often.
Smelling the coffee, Nora asked, "What kind of coffee is this brewed with?"
"Good coffee," Flynt replied.
After brewing the coffee, he poured her a cup and offered, "Please, have some."
Chapter 381 The Child is Missing.
"Thank you," Nora took a sip of the coffee.
Flynt asked, "How does it taste?"
Nora smiled and said, "I don't know much about coffee, but it's good."
"I'll take it as a compliment," Flynt said and poured a cup for Evella.
Evella praised him, "Although I don't know much about coffee either, seeing how you brew it makes me think it must be good."
Flynt chuckled lightly, took a sip of his coffee, and said, "As long as you like it."
Nora took another sip of her coffee and looked at him closely.
'She hadn't noticed it before, but now she saw that Flynt's face was slightly made up. Usually, women wear makeup when they go out, but they rarely see men wearing makeup. Was this a characteristic of a musician?' Nora thought to herself, and her gaze fell on the lower part of his eyelids for a moment.
Although he had a layer of white powder on his face, it couldn't hide the dark aura under his eyelids.
Nora furrowed her brows, and something seemed off with his body...
"Nora, Evella said you were her best friend and wanted to introduce her boyfriend to you. So, I offer you a coffee in place of alcohol," Flynt interrupted her thoughts and raised his coffee cup.
Nora snapped out of it and glanced at the blushing Evella before smiling. "Evella is like a little sister to me. I hope you treat her well," she said.
"Definitely," Flynt clinked his cup against hers.
Nora picked up her coffee and drank it all in one go.
Flynt's eyes sparkled slightly as he took the coffee pot to refill her cup.
In a place where no one could see, his left thumb pressed down on the coffee pot lid and turned it slightly to the side...
"Nora, have some snacks," Evella pushed a tray of snacks in front of her.
"Thank you," Nora replied without hesitation and started eating the snacks.
"Nora, Evella says you are skilled in medicine and have saved not only her grandfather but also her second brother as well. Is that right?" Flynt mentioned as he sipped his coffee, trying to find a topic to chat with Nora.
"It's common for doctors to save lives," Nora humbly replied, then glanced at his eyelids and asked, "How have you been feeling lately? Would you like me to check your pulse?"
Because he had makeup on his face, she couldn't see his complexion clearly through his face.
She needed to check his pulse to know the reason behind the dark circles he had on his face.
Flynt's hand trembled as he drank his coffee, and his lowered eyes flickered for a moment as he replied, "Nora, since we are in a band and often stay up late, our bodies are not in their best state. But I'm young and haven't felt any major issues so I won't trouble you."
Hearing him say this, Nora didn't insist. "Youth is an asset, but you can't keep consuming it. You still need to pay attention to maintaining a balance between work and rest. Otherwise, when your body is exhausted, it will be too late to replenish it," Nora advised.
Flynt nodded, and said, "Nora, you are right; I will keep that in mind. Let's drink coffee." He gestured for Nora to drink her coffee.
Nora smiled, lifted her cup to her lips, and took a sip of coffee.
Flynt sipped his coffee and subtly observed her.
Suddenly, Nora's phone rang.
Her actions of drinking coffee paused; she put down her cup and glanced at the caller ID. The call was from the head teacher of the kindergarten where her three children attended.
Normally, the head teacher would only call her if something was wrong. Nora furrowed her brows and felt a sense of uneasiness in her heart.
She answered the call, "Ann, what's wrong?"
"Samantha's mom, please come to the school immediately; Billy is missing," the head teacher said in a worried voice.
Nora's face turned pale. "What did you say? Billy is missing! When did this happen? How could he go missing!" she questioned, frantically.
"After our afternoon break, we were doing activities on the playground; he went to the bathroom and then disappeared," the head teacher said briefly.
Just like that, he disappeared! Nora tightened her grip on her phone, her chest heaving. "Have they searched the school?" she asked.
"Yes, the school is currently making every effort to find him," the homeroom teacher replied.
"I see. What about Alex and Samantha? Are they okay?" Nora asked.
"They're fine, they're with me... hey, Samantha, where's Alex?" Ann replied.
Samantha replied, "He went to check the surveillance cameras."
Nora heard her daughter's quivering voice on the phone, and she felt extremely anxious. She wished she could go to school immediately.
She suppressed her restless emotions. "Ann, I'm not in Houston at the moment, so it may take some time for me to get to the school. Please inform me of any updates," she instructed.
"All right," Ann answered,
After hanging up, Evella, who was sitting beside Nora, asked, "Nora, something happened to Billy, didn't it?"
"Yes, he suddenly disappeared at school. I'm sorry, I have to leave right away." Nora's face turned pale as she got up.
"Don't worry, Nora, he will be fine," Evella said, expressing her concern while trying to comfort her.
Nora forced a smile, nodded slightly at Flynt, and then left quickly.
After she left, Flynt sat down and leisurely sipped his coffee.
His gaze fell on Nora's cup of coffee, and a hint of regret passed through his eyes. It was close; she almost drank it. But there was no rush; there would be plenty of opportunities in the future.
"How could Nora's kid just go missing ?" Evella furrowed her brows, puzzled and worried.
Flynt glanced at her and picked up the coffee pot to refill her cup. "Maybe the child was being naughty and ran off to play when no one was paying attention. Don't worry, keep drinking your coffee," Flynt explained.
Evella seemed absent-minded.
She had seen those three children before, and her intuition told her that they were not the type to run around recklessly.
"Flynt, I won't drink anymore. I need to go home and let my family know, see if they can help Nora," Evella said without waiting for Flynt's response. She picked up her bag and hurriedly left.
Flynt looked at the coffee in his hand, sneered softly, 'The simple-minded woman also slipped away. But no matter how she slipped, it couldn't escape the hunter's grasp.' He drank it all in one gulp.
After Nora left the coffee shop and got into the car, she called Aaron.
"Aaron, Billy disappeared at school." There was a slight tremor in her voice. "Do you think Ken had something to do with it?" she asked.
The child couldn't have disappeared from school for no reason. Unless someone took him away without anyone noticing.
She hadn't offended anyone except Ken.
At this moment, Aaron, who just had a conversation with Ross, received a phone call.
Upon hearing Nora's words, his face turned pale, and a hint of sternness flashed in his deep eyes.
"Don't worry, I will make sure the child is safe," Aaron promised. Hearing his steady voice, Nora's heart settled a bit.
Nora inquired, "Where are you? I want to return to Houston immediately."
Aaron replied, "All right, I'll have a helicopter sent over right away."
Nora re[;ied, "Okay."
After hanging up, Aaron said to Ross, "The Rochester Society should be active in Houston. They have kidnapped a child, and I hope you can protect that child. If you can't, our cooperation will end here!"
Ross, wearing black clothes and pants, just tossed a piece of chewing gum into his mouth.
Hearing this, he chewed on the gum and grinned mischievously and assured, "Mr. Gordon, believe me, I won't let you down."
