Chapter 936 What Was it about Nora that Was so captivating
Gabriella's smile stiffened as she glanced at Nora beside her.
"Nora, look at your husband."
He really wasn't giving her any respect.
Nora just smiled. "Ignore him."
Gabriella pouted, leaning her head on Nora's shoulder. "You're the best, Nora."
Nora got goosebumps.
Aaron, sitting in the front passenger seat, glanced at them through the rearview mirror, frowning.
'This Gabriella is such a troublemaker. Why is she so annoying?'
The car entered the villa area, and Frederick asked, "Mr. Gordon, which way?"
Both Aaron and Nora had villas here. Where would they stay tonight?
"Let's go to Nora's place first," Aaron said.
"Yes, Mr. Gordon," Frederick replied, driving towards the Smith villa.
Gabriella looked surprised. "Nora, you live here too?"
Nora smiled. "Yeah, I bought a villa here before I got married. Didn't expect it to be near Aaron's."
Gabriella said, "You're pretty well-off too."
Nora looked out the window, thinking about last year, and sighed. "Yeah, people laughed at me, saying I married into money. I told them I didn't care because I was already wealthy."
Gabriella's eyes shifted, and she laughed. "That sounds cocky. Was Mr. Gordon mad?"
Nora looked at the back of Aaron's head. "Honey, were you mad back then?"
Aaron raised an eyebrow. "How could I be? I was eager to be a kept man."
Nora laughed.
Gabriella's smile faltered. "Mr. Gordon is really funny."
From her interactions with Aaron, she noticed he only acted this way around Nora, so different from his cold business persona. Did Aaron really love Nora that much? Did he love her so much that no one could come between them? Gabriella didn't buy it.
They arrived and got out of the car, entering the villa. Carter, Billy, and Samantha had just arrived in another car. Carter was telling Billy and Samantha to wash up.
"Grandma, you go to sleep. I'll handle the kids," Nora said.
Carter smiled. "Are you all staying here tonight?"
Nora glanced at Aaron. He nodded slightly.
Carter was pleased and went upstairs after chatting a bit.
"Prepare a guest room," Aaron instructed the servant.
The servant nodded and went to get it ready.
"Honey, take Billy and Samantha to wash up," Nora said.
Aaron nodded and took the kids upstairs.
"Gabriella, let's go upstairs too."
"Okay."
Upstairs, Nora gave Gabriella a quick tour, then brought out a set of new clothes. "These are new, never worn. Hope you don't mind."
"I don't," Gabriella said, taking the clothes and looking around the guest room. "I've never stayed at someone else's house before. It's a new experience."
Nora smiled. "I'll show you the bathroom."
The guest room had its own bathroom. Nora gave a quick explanation and left the room.
In the hallway, Aaron was waiting for her. He wrapped his arm around her waist and kissed her.
"All settled?"
"Yeah, where are the kids?" Nora asked.
"They're bathing," Aaron said.
"Then you go wash up too." Nora nudged his chest.
Aaron held onto her. "What's the rush? We'll wash when we get home."
Nora raised an eyebrow. "Home? We're not staying here tonight?"
Aaron nodded. "Yeah, let Gabriella and the kids stay here. We'll have our own time."
Nora chuckled. "That's not polite. Gabriella's a guest. We can't just leave her."
Aaron's tone turned a bit annoyed. "It's fine. We're not mistreating her. I've never seen such a troublesome client who insists on staying at our place. If it weren't for your good relationship with her, I would have sent her away long ago."
Nora thought to herself that she wasn't that close to Gabriella. Gabriella just clung to her, and out of politeness, she couldn't push her away. But she didn't say this out loud, fearing Aaron might actually send Gabriella packing.
"Alright, you go check on Billy and Samantha. I'll wait for Gabriella to finish up and then tell her before we leave," Nora said.
"Okay." Aaron finally smiled.
Nora went into the guest room, and soon, Gabriella came out after her bath.
Seeing Nora waiting, Gabriella tugged at her clothes, a bit disdainful. "Nora, your pajamas are so conservative."
Nora had given her a floral cotton nightgown. Not transparent or silky, just something comfortable she had bought before.
"Cotton pajamas are comfy. If you don't like it, I'll take you shopping for a new set tomorrow."
"Okay."
"Then rest up. Aaron and I are heading to the other villa."
Gabriella's smile froze. "Nora, you're not staying here tonight?"
"Yeah, good night."
Nora smiled, wished her good night, and left the room.
Gabriella's smile faded. She had planned to seduce Aaron tonight, but now they weren't staying!
'Whose idea was this?' she wondered. 'Is Nora guarding against me? Or is it Aaron's idea?'
'Aaron's eyes are full of Nora. He probably just wants alone time with her.'
Gabriella sat on the bed, her face darkening. Thinking about the harmonious family dinner tonight, her eyes flickered with a dark light.
'Isn't it said that Jeffery particularly dislikes Nora and wants to break up Nora and Aaron? How could Jeffery change so much? Jeffery treats Nora better than her own mother. What charm does this Nora have to make everyone treat her so well?'
Her phone rang, snapping her back to reality. She took it out and saw an unknown number. Sitting back on the bed, she crossed her legs and answered.
"Who is it?"
"Ms. Costa, you're quite persistent, chasing Aaron all the way to Youston?" A man's teasing voice came through.
Gabriella frowned. "Who are you?"
"I'm Prince Rafael."
What!
The caller was actually Prince Rafael of Hchilia!
Gabriella instinctively sat up straight, her legs coming together. "Are you really Prince Rafael?"
"Who would dare to impersonate me?" Rafael said.
True.
Gabriella tensed up, her tone turning flattering. "Prince Rafael, why are you calling me?"
"I want to propose a collaboration."
