Chapter 941 Imitating Her
Aaron was a bit taken aback.
"Gabriella is Suzy's sister? Like, her biological sister?"
"Yep."
Nora chimed in, "Billy thinks Gabriella's into you. Do you think she's cozying up to us to get back at Suzy?"
Aaron paused, his tone turning icy. "Suzy's death was her own fault. What's that got to do with us?"
Nora nodded. "True, but some people don't think logically."
Aaron said, "Got it. Let's just watch and see what Gabriella's up to. If she's trying to mess with us, she'll be disappointed."
Nora agreed. Her bond with Aaron was solid, not something Gabriella could easily break.
"I'm just worried she might play dirty."
Like Suzy and Sunny, who drugged Aaron.
Aaron paused. "I'll call Johnnie back."
Nora was surprised. "You want Johnnie to keep an eye on her? Remember, they're dating."
"That's why it's not really spying."
Aaron explained, "I'll give Johnnie a break, let him date Gabriella. With him around, we can figure out what tricks she can pull."
Nora laughed; Aaron was always clever.
But thinking of Johnnie, her smile faded a bit.
"Aaron, do you think Gabriella's really into Johnnie?"
Aaron said, "Hard to tell."
Nora agreed. "But if they're not really dating, why is Gabriella offering herself?"
Aaron paused. "Maybe to throw us off, make us drop our guard. Or, she wants to use Johnnie for revenge."
Nora's heart skipped a beat. "So Gabriella might not just be trying to split us up, but also mess with your company?"
Aaron said, "It's possible."
Nora looked worried. "Aaron, could Johnnie fall for Gabriella and betray you?"
Aaron was silent for a moment. "It depends on how smitten he is. If he's as into her as I am with you, then yeah, I might be in trouble."
Nora felt both worried and amused. "This isn't about me! You're making me look like a bad woman."
Aaron teased, "To me, you are the bad woman who stole my heart."
"Ridiculous."
Nora laughed, then got serious. "So, what do we do now?"
Aaron replied, "No rush. Trust me, I'll make sure you stay Mrs. Gordon."
His voice was steady with a hint of teasing.
Nora laughed. "As if I'm desperate to be with you."
"Honey, are you really not desperate?"
Aaron pretended to be upset.
"Okay, okay, I'm desperate. Happy now?" Nora laughed.
"That's more like it."
"Alright, aren't you in a meeting? Get back to work, I won't bother you."
Aaron responded, then asked, "What are you and Gabriella up to now?"
Nora said, "We're at the hair salon."
Aaron added, "Have Frederick keep an eye on Gabriella, and make sure she doesn't cause trouble."
Nora glanced around the studio. "If Gabriella's after you, I should be safe for now."
Aaron replied, "Better to be cautious."
"Got it."
Nora hung up, took a deep breath, and walked back in.
Gabriella was getting her hair styled. When she saw Nora, she smiled. "Who were you on the phone with for so long?"
"A friend," Nora said casually, sitting down and scrolling on her phone.
Two hours later, Gabriella's hair was done.
"Nora, I'm done. How do I look?"
Nora looked up, a spark of intrigue flickered in her eyes. She was wearing a plain top and khaki pants, quite different from her usual flashy style. With her straightened hair, she actually resembled Nora.
If Billy hadn't told her about Gabriella being Suzy's sister, she might not have thought much of it. But now, she suspected Gabriella was imitating her on purpose.
"You look great," Nora said nonchalantly.
Gabriella linked arms with her and stood in front of the mirror. "Nora, don't we look like twins now?"
Nora raised an eyebrow. "I have to admit, we do look quite similar."
Gabriella asked casually, "Do you think Mr. Gordon might mistake us in the dark?"
Nora's eyes narrowed. So this was Gabriella's plan? Imitate her style to create a rift between her and Aaron?
"Probably not," Nora replied with a slight smile. "Aaron loves me very much. He says he could recognize me even if I was wearing a paper bag on my head. If he ever mistakes someone else for me, I'd kill him!"
Gabriella giggled. "Nora, you're too funny. You can't trust what men say, you're too gullible."
Nora glanced at her. "Do you think Aaron isn't sincere with me?"
Gabriella's eyes shifted. "Of course, he's sincere. I can see Mr. Gordon is crazy about you, it's enviable."
Her words were ambiguous, making it hard to tell the truth from lies.
Nora smiled slightly, not saying more, and went to the front desk to pay.
"Let's go."
"How much was it? I'll transfer it to you," Gabriella offered.
"No need. You're a guest, don't worry about it," Nora said.
"Thanks, Nora."
Gabriella then asked, "Nora, you're older than me, right?"
"I'm twenty-six. How about you?" Nora replied.
"I'm two years younger. I should call you sis," Gabriella said.
Nora cringed at the thought. Gabriella's sister Suzy was her enemy!
"Just call me Nora, don't make me sound old," she said.
"Alright," Gabriella agreed.
"Where to now?" Nora asked.
Gabriella touched her stomach. "I'm starving. Let's get something to eat."
"Okay."
