Chapter 747 Life Was Like a Drama, All Depending on Acting Skills
Nora said, "Sunny, don't you want a fresh start?"
Sunny stared at her blankly. "Are you asking me to leave the entertainment industry?"
Nora neither confirmed nor denied. "Do you still want to be with that pervert?"
Just the thought of Jesse made Sunny shudder all over.
She quickly shook her head. "No, I don't want to, I don't want to be with that damn pervert!"
Nora was quite satisfied with her reaction. "Alright then, you can be an informant for the police."
Sunny was utterly astonished.
She widened her eyes. "An informant for the police?"
"Yes, Jesse is not a good person," Nora said slowly.
Sunny stared at her blankly, not reacting immediately.
Nora smirked. "Or would you prefer that we reveal your impersonation of me to the public right now? We could teach you a lesson, force you to return all the money you've made by exploiting Aaron's fame over the years, and then banish you from the entertainment industry."
Sunny's eyes widened even more.
Excitedly, she exclaimed, "No, even though I gained some exposure through Mr. Gordon, the money I earned was through my own hard work. Why should I give it back?"
Nora calmly replied, "But the premise is that you had Aaron supporting you. Without that connection, how could you possibly have made it in the entertainment industry?"
Sunny was speechless.
Nora continued to press on, trying to intimidate her.
"Sunny, I'm not bluffing. You know, with our family background and influence, we can make these happen."
Sunny swallowed nervously, feeling like her thoughts were muddled.
After a moment, she said, "No, I can't be an informant for the police!"
Nora raised an eyebrow. "Why not, Sunny? You are a top-tier actress about to become a leading lady. Acting in front of people, pretending, should come naturally to you."
Sunny hesitated. "But it's different."
"How is it different? Life is like a drama, all depending on acting. Just treat men as characters in a script," Nora added.
Sunny hesitated again, unable to come up with a rebuttal.
Nora continued to push, "Sunny, you should know that Jesse is now your benefactor. Do you want to be under his control forever? He is a despicable villain, indulging in various vices like drinking, gambling, and debauchery."
"Today, he might just be tormenting you physically, but tomorrow, he could control your mind with drugs, turning you into an addict, or even make you sleep with some high-ranking individuals to achieve his goals. Your life will be ruined in his hands!"
Listening to Nora's description, Sunny couldn't help but shudder at the thought.
Seeing the fear in Sunny's eyes, Nora continued to persuade her.
"But if you become an informant for the police and uncover evidence against Jesse, then everything you have now will be yours, and you can wipe the slate clean."
"If you succeed, Aaron and I will be your strong support. If you want to continue developing in the entertainment industry, you can do so. If you don't want to, the money you've earned will be enough for you to live comfortably for the rest of your life."
Nora's words acted like a shot of adrenaline, injecting Sunny with a sense of new vitality and passion.
"So, as long as I become an informant for the police, you and Mr. Gordon won't pursue the incident of me impersonating you five years ago anymore?" Sunny asked.
Nora nodded. "That's right."
Sunny stared at her. "And you will be my strong support?"
"Yes," Nora replied.
Sunny continued, "I can do whatever I want?"
Nora said, "Yes, you can walk your own path then."
Sunny smirked. "I will take that into consideration."
Nora chuckled. "So, do you agree?"
After another internal struggle, Sunny took a deep breath and said, "Yes, I agree."
Nora chuckled softly and then turned to Jane sitting on the couch.
"Sunny, let me introduce you, this is Officer Jane, she will brief you on some matters."
Jane adjusted her clothes, stood up, and shook hands with Sunny.
"Hello, I'm Jane," Jane said.
Sunny straightened unconsciously, shaking her hand. "Hello."
At that moment, Nora's phone rang.
It was Aaron calling, probably checking on the situation.
Nora smiled. "You two talk; I'll take this call outside."
She left the room and answered the phone.
"Hello?"
"Still at the hospital?"
Aaron's magnetic voice came through the phone.
"Yes."
"Talked to her?"
"Yes."
"How did it go?"
Nora's eyes flickered as she teasingly said, "Guess."
Aaron paused. "With my wife involved, there's nothing that can't be done."
Nora chuckled. "I've persuaded Sunny, and now Jane is discussing some details with her."
Aaron responded, a bit concerned, "Darling, do you really think Sunny can handle this?"
Nora replied, "Trust me. Once you've chosen her, don't second-guess your decision."
In such a fragile state, Sunny was sure to compromise due to her kindness and severity.
"Darling, you have quite the managerial skills. Why not come to the company and be my assistant?" Aaron suggested.
Nora blinked, teasingly saying, "Just as your assistant? Therefore, all those times you said you loved me, it was just talk?"
"How could that be?" Aaron said.
Nora added, "If you love me, you should hand over the entire company to me; let me be the CEO."
Aaron laughed at the suggestion. "If you're willing to come and be the CEO, I'd be more than happy. Honey, I'll announce later that you'll replace me as the female CEO of the Gordon Group!"
Nora laughed. "Alright, stop kidding; go make money and support me."
"As you wish, dear!"
After hanging up, Nora didn't rush back in, waiting outside.
Soon, Jane came out.
"Finished?" Nora asked.
"Yes."
Jane looked at her deeply. "I never thought Dr. Smith was so eloquent."
Nora blinked, not being modest at all.
"I'm indeed not bad at it."
Perhaps spending so much time with Aaron had taught her a thing or two about being cunning.
"I'll go in and say goodbye before leaving," Nora said
"Okay," Jane replied
Nora entered the room and found Sunny staring blankly ahead by the bed.
But there seemed to be a spark in her eyes.
Nora approached the bed. "All sorted out. Is there anything else you want to discuss with me?"
Sunny looked at her. "Could you arrange for Mr. Gordon to provide me with a bodyguard?"
Nora's eyes flickered slightly. "You want a bodyguard?"
"Yes, someone who can be my male assistant to protect me and also keep an eye on me for you," Sunny said.
Nora smiled. "You're quite straightforward."
Sunny shrugged. "I've always been a good person. I just lost my way for a moment. But it's not all my fault. You should know that every woman has vanity, especially when faced with a distinguished man like Aaron. Who wouldn't want to be associated with him? So, he should take half the blame, too."
