Chapter 492 He Wouldn't be a Philanderer.
Nora served the soup for Erin.
Feeling so sorry for Erin, Nora personally fed her the soup and food.
Erin, who ate whatever Nora fed her, was very well-behaved and not picky. She had a little rosy mouth and sweat beaded on her smooth forehead. Nora felt a wave of tenderness and took a wet tissue to wipe the sweat for her, exuding a maternal aura.
Matthew, sitting across from them, watched this scene, took a sip of his coffee, and smiled slightly. He was about to speak when Nora's phone, placed on the table, rang. He glanced at the caller ID, and his emotions fluctuated. The call was from Aaron.
Nora noticed it, too, so she settled Erin in her chair and said to Matthew, "Sorry, I need to take this call."
Matthew nodded slightly, and replied, "Sure."
Nora picked up her phone and walked outside the cafe to answer the call. "Hello?" she greeted.
"Have you eaten?" Aaron's deep voice came through the phone.
"I'm eating right now," Nora replied.
"You're eating? Who are you eating with?" he asked.
"A friend," she replied.
"A boyfriend or a girlfriend?" he asked.
Boyfriend? Aaron was trying to confuse things! Nora chuckled, and answered, "A male friend."
"Is that so? What kind of male friend is he? How old is he? Is he handsome?" Aaron began to press for details.
Matthew's face flashed in Nora's mind. "He's around your age, quite handsome," she teased.
Aaron sneered, "Quite handsome? Is he as handsome as me?"
Nora sensed his jealousy and laughed, "You two are equally handsome."
Aaron fell silent, and a strong sense of danger filled the air on the other end of the phone. Unable to hold back her amusement, Nora said, "Don't be jealous; he's a patient."
"Huh? What do you mean?" he asked.
"I'll tell you more when I get back," Nora replied.
Nora was about to hang up when Aaron's magnetic voice came through the phone. "I might not have to wait for you to come back," he said.
What's going on? What is he planning to do? Nora was puzzled and was about to ask when a sweet voice came from behind her, calling out, "Mommy."
Nora turned around and saw Aaron and four children standing there, feeling surprised. "Why are you all here?" she asked, bewildered.
Aaron had actually brought the children here, too!
"Daddy brought us out for dinner," Samantha said in a timid tone.
"Is that so? What a coincidence," Nora put away her phone and smiled.
"Yeah. Mommy, who are you having dinner with here?" Millie asked, tilting her head.
"With a friend," Nora replied.
"What kind of friend? Is he a playboy?" Millie asked directly.
Nora was taken aback. Playboy! Who taught Millie to say that? Nora was puzzled and asked, "Millie, who told you to say that?"
Millie instinctively looked at Aaron.
"Millie!" Billy, who was beside them, realized the situation was turning bad. He quickly covered Millie's mouth and then grinned at Nora. "Mommy, I'm hungry. Since we've met here, let's have dinner together!"
Millie was too naive! She almost exposed Uncle Aaron! Yes, Uncle Aaron was the one who brought them here to catch the playboy! He said someone was trying to get close to their Mommy. So, they had to defend Mommy and Uncle Aaron's relationship and not let the playboy deceive Mommy away!
Nora looked at Billy's innocent face and could easily guess who had taught Millie those words. She glanced sideways at Aaron, who pretended to be innocent, a sly smile playing on her lips. Nora suspected his true intentions for bringing the children here to have dinner.
Was it a coincidence or a deliberate plan? Just then, the door to the cafe opened, and Matthew walked out. "Dr. Smith, haven't you finished your call?" he asked.
Everyone turned to look at him. Aaron narrowed his eyes and recognized Matthew. So, it was him! He was the man who had been staring at Nora, whom they had encountered at the Central Hospital. But Nora had claimed not to know him at the time. How come they were having dinner together?
"Mr. Jones, these are my children. They happened to come here for dinner, too," Nora explained to Matthew.
Hearing this, Matthew was not surprised and remained calm. "So, these lovely children are all yours. They are adorable!" His gaze swept over Alex and the other two, and he remarked, "These three children look like triplets."
Nora nodded, and agreed, "Yes, you have a keen eye. They are indeed triplets."
Matthew smiled, and his gaze fell on Millie. "Is this child also yours?" he asked.
"She is my daughter too, not by blood, but as good as," Nora replied.
Matthew glanced at her and said something meaningful, "Dr. Smith, you are very kind."
Nora smiled and remained silent. Aaron, who was standing beside them, observed their familiar interaction and became serious. She had just introduced a few children but forgot to teach him!
"Nora, why don't you introduce me? Who is this?" Aaron asked, snapping her back to reality.
Nora introduced them, "He is Matthew. Mr. Jones, this is Aaron."
Matthew glanced at Aaron and extended his hand first. "Hello, I'm Matthew," introduced himself.
Aaron, with a cold expression, shook his hand and added an explanation.
"I'm Aaron, Nora's fiancé," insisting on appending an explanation to his name.
Nora glanced at him, finding it somewhat amusing. Fiancé? They hadn't gotten engaged yet. But at this moment, Aaron's face was stern, consumed by jealousy once again. Nora decided not to correct him.
Matthew smiled faintly, showing no sign of concern. They stood facing each other, exuding elegance and aloofness. They appeared as a striking sight, captivating others with their looks. They were incredibly handsome! However, despite their extraordinary presence, something seemed off.
One person smiled, but it seemed insincere. The other had a somewhat indifferent gaze, looking at the other as if they were rivals. The four children looked up at Matthew.
Millie whispered to Billy, "Billy, is this the playboy Daddy was talking about, trying to take Mommy away?"
Billy's bright eyes flickered as he replied softly, "Maybe."
Billy hadn't fully understood the situation, so he didn't know what to make of Matthew. But from his demeanor and speech, he seemed impressive. Could he be another one of Mommy's suitors?
"Oh, a little sister is coming out!" Millie exclaimed curiously as she saw Erin walk out of the cafe.
Matthew let go of Aaron's hand and turned to look at Erin. "Erin, were you in a hurry?" he asked.
Erin didn't speak but walked to Nora's side, took her hand, and led her back into the cafe.
