Chapter 611 Confession

"Howard, can you go freshen up and change clothes by yourself?" Evella asked with concern.

Howard chuckled inwardly but kept a straight face. He said, "Yes, with you caring about me, I can endure any pain."

Evella supported him to the men's changing room and said to Richard, "Godfather, take care of Howard a bit, and be careful not to let him fall."

Upon hearing this, Howard said immediately, "That's not necessary."

No way would he want his rival to take care of him.

Richard smirked, "You seem fine. It looks like the internal injuries are healing."

Howard's eyes flickered, and he weakly coughed a few times.

Then he waved to Evella and said, "Don't worry; I'm fine. I'll go in to freshen up first. You wait for me outside."

Evella replied, "Be careful, watch your step, don't fall."

"I know; thanks for your concern, honey." Howard smiled and provocatively glanced at Richard.

Watching that, Nora sighed helplessly..

He had left a really bad impression on Richard.

"Evella, why don't you tell Howard your secret?" Nora asked.

Evella bit her lip, feeling conflicted.

Nora continued, "You and Howard are going to get married in the future, so he will eventually need to know about your relationship with Mr. Rogers."

Upon hearing this, a hint of shyness flashed in Evella's eyes. She said, "Nora, Howard and I are just dating."

Marriage was still far away.

Nora blinked and said, "Evella, do you only want to date and not get married? People say that dating without the intention of marriage is just fooling around. So, have you been teasing Howard all along?"

Evella blushed at Nora's teasing, saying, "Nora, you're so naughty."

Seeing her shy expression, Nora smiled.

The days of dating was the most beautiful.

Memories of her dating days with Aaron brought an involuntary smile to her lips.

Her mind wandered to Aaron's subtle changes, making Nora furrow her brows, feeling inexplicably annoyed.

Shaking off her tangled thoughts, Nora decided not to dwell on things that upset her for now.

Soon, Richard and Howard came out.

There was a small shop in the boxing gym that sold fresh clothes.

At this moment, both of them had changed into fresh outfits.

Evella hurried over to support Howard, her eyes full of concern.

Watching that, Richard mentally crossed a big red 'X' over Howard's name again.

"Evella, are you hungry? There's not much food left in the cafeteria now. Where do you want to go for a meal?" Richard asked.

Before Evella could respond, Howard interjected, "Evella can decide where she wants to eat. You don't need to worry about it. As her boyfriend, I'll take her out for a meal. You can do as you please."

Richard didn't respond to him but turned to Evella. He asked, "Evella, do you want to have a meal with me?"

Evella glanced at Howard and said, "Howard, my godfather hasn't eaten either. Let's go together."

Furrowing his brows, Howard questioned, "Why do we need an outsider for our date?"

Because Richard wasn't just an outsider!

Evella's eyes flickered as she looked at Nora. She said, "Nora, you haven't eaten either. We can eat together, right?"

Nora suppressed a smile, finding Evella quite mischievous, making Howard head down a self-destructive path.

"Okay. Mr. Rogers, let's go together," Nora said.

Richard nodded slightly at her and then glanced at Howard as if looking at someone with a mental disability.

Feeling displeased, Howard wondered why Evella had to acknowledge Richard as her godfather.

As they walked towards the exit, he asked, "Mr. Rogers, you apprear to be idle. Don't you have a job?"

Richard replied, "Managers only need to use their brains to command."

Howard gave him a sidelong glance, thinking, 'What's there to be proud of?'

As long as he wished, he could inherit the family business easily.

With a thought, Howard turned to Evella and said, "Evella, do you prefer me to be a company manager or a very busy doctor?"

Evella was taken aback, saying, "Why are you asking me this? It's your decision."

"No, this concerns our future." Howard's expression turned serious.

He said, "As a doctor, I may not have much free time. A call in the middle of the night could summon me away."

"I hope that my future wife can grow old with me without any unpleasantness due to work. So, I will seek her opinion and choose a profession that she approves of."

When Howard mentioned 'wife,' he was referring to Evella.

Evella blushed slightly and said, "I haven't agreed to marry you yet."

Howard knew she was shy and asked, "If your husband had these two choices in the future, what would you prefer him to do?"

Evella pondered for a moment and replied, "Either is fine; as long as he enjoys it and excels in that industry, I have no objections."

Approval shone in Howard's eyes.

He said, "You're a considerate and understanding girl."

With that, he provocatively glanced at Richard again.

Howard tried to make Richard realize that Evella didn't like men in high positions. She would support Howard in any profession he chose.

Richard, maintaining his dignified elder stance, ignored his gaze and continued walking ahead.

Nora walked silently beside them, not interfering.

As they neared the parking lot, Howard suddenly remembered something. He said, "Evella, when you asked me to come down from the ring earlier, you said you had something to tell me. What was it?"

At this, Evella's eyes flickered, and she glanced at Richard instinctively.

Richard had already reached his car door.

Seeing Evella's glance, he understood her intention. He smiled faintly, opened the car door without a word, and got in.

Howard furrowed his brows and said, "Evella, what's with him? Tell me, did he use something to lure you? He's a bad person, don't fall for it."

Evella withdrew her gaze, somewhat speechless, saying, "No."

Howard pressed and said, "Then what did you want to tell me?"

Evella hesitated and said, "Actually, he..."

"What about him?"

"He's my biological uncle."

Evella's words left Howard stunned for a moment.

After a few seconds of silence, his voice sounded a bit off.

"Richard is your biological uncle. Are you joking with me?" Howard said.

Evella said, "I'm not joking with you. Richard is really my biological uncle. We've even done a DNA test, and Maisie knows about this."

Howard was dumbfounded.

He glanced at Richard sitting in the car and swallowed involuntarily.

He mistook Evella's biological uncle for a rival and even hit him!

It seemed difficult that Howard could marry Evella smoothly.

"No, if Richard is your biological uncle, why do you call him godfather?" Howard asked.

Evella explained, "Because of my dad, I can't acknowledge my uncle!"
