Chapter 1014 She Was a Lucky Dog
Billy glanced at Randall on the ground and grinned. "Don't worry, if he feels bad, he'll wake up soon."
Billy squatted down, put his hand on Randall's chest, and whispered, "Randall, do you know you messed up?"
Randall, still out cold, didn't respond.
Billy said seriously, "Alright, since you know you were wrong, I'll let Millie wake you up."
He stood up and told Millie, "Millie, Randall knows he was wrong. He won't call you names anymore. Go ahead and wake him up."
Millie was confused. How was she supposed to wake Randall up? She didn't have that power!
Billy, with a sly look, said, "Millie, I know you're still mad, but let's not stoop to his level. Just wake him up."
He took Millie's hand, squatted down, and placed it on Randall's chest.
Randall's eyes moved under his lids, and he slowly woke up.
The crowd of adults and kids buzzed with surprise. They didn't expect Millie to actually wake Randall up.
Millie was stunned, staring at the now-awake Randall. She couldn't believe it!
Only Seraphina in the car saw the truth. Billy had removed the injection needle from Randall when he pretended to ask questions. Then he made it look like Millie woke him up. Billy was too clever!
"Randall, you okay?" The driver rushed over to help him up.
Randall's thoughts cleared, and he looked at Billy with fear, instinctively moving closer to the driver.
Billy smiled, "Randall, aren't you going to thank Millie? She's your lucky charm. You were scared unconscious by a ghost, and she woke you up without holding a grudge."
'What? Millie woke me up? Isn't she a jinx? How is she a lucky charm?' Randall stared at Millie in disbelief.
Billy's face turned serious. "Randall, if I hear you call Millie a jinx again, you'll see something worse!"
Billy's young voice had authority.
Randall, scared, replied, "Got it."
Billy was satisfied. He took Millie's hand and addressed the crowd. "You all saw it, Millie is a lucky charm. If anyone bullies her, they'll regret it! Treat her well, and you'll be fine too, got it?"
"Got it!" the kids responded quickly.
They had all seen Millie wake Randall up. Even the adults believed in her luck, let alone the kids.
Billy's scare tactics worked.
"Millie, I'm sorry. I was wrong to call you names because of Randall. Actually, I like you. Don't hold it against me! From now on, I'll protect you. Anyone who bullies you will deal with me," said a sturdy little boy, apologizing and trying to make amends.
"And me! Millie, I actually like you too. It was all Randall's fault. He hated you, so we followed him."
"Yeah, Millie, you're not annoying at all. You're really pretty, prettier than other girls."
"Millie, the first time I saw you, I thought you were the prettiest girl in the world."
The boys around her were showering her with compliments, some even offering candy from their pockets.
Millie stood there, a bit lost.
Billy squinted at the boys fawning over Millie and tightened his grip on her hand. "Alright, that's enough for today. We need to go back."
He turned and walked towards the car, holding Millie's hand. The crowd parted like they were seeing off VIPs.
Millie held Billy's hand tightly, still excited and joyful. "Billy, they were all praising me just now."
Those boys used to look at her with disgust, calling her names or spitting at her. Now, their sudden change in attitude made her feel like she had gone from hell to heaven. It was exhilarating.
Billy rolled his eyes. "You believe those insincere words?"
Millie tilted her head. "Billy, don't you think I'm cute and pretty?"
Billy glanced at her. "Do you think a silly and dazed girl is cute and pretty?"
Millie blinked, then realized. "Billy, are you calling me silly and dazed?"
Billy said, "Aren't you? If it weren't for me, you'd still be called a jinx by them!"
Millie's head drooped. "Alright, I'm silly and dazed."
They reached the car. Seraphina, who had been waiting, opened the door for them.
Billy got in, looked at the dejected Millie, and added, "But you're so silly that you became a lucky charm."
Seraphina, about to get in, was amused by Billy's words. She looked at Millie to see her reaction.
Millie smiled brightly. "Yes, I became a lucky charm. Seraphina, I'm really capable. Did you see, I woke Randall up!"
Seraphina laughed and nodded. "Yes, I saw."
Billy looked at her, dumbfounded. Millie was truly silly. Forget it, he was smart and wouldn't argue with a fool like Millie.
"Billy, how did you make Randall pass out?" Millie asked, curious.
"That's easy. Do you want to try?" Billy teased.
Millie shrank towards him, a bit scared. "Billy, will I see ghosts too? But Mommy said there are no ghosts. If there are, it's just someone pretending."
Billy raised his eyebrows. "Now you're not so silly."
Millie scratched her head, looking at Billy with big eyes full of anticipation. A face that said, "Tell me quickly."
Seraphina couldn't stop laughing at their antics. "Billy, stop teasing Millie. Millie, Billy actually used an injection needle to make Randall pass out."
