Chapter 541 At Most, We're Friends with Benefits

Lucas unconsciously clenched his fists.
If he had arrived even a moment later, he dared not think what would have happened next.
It was at this moment he realized that, somehow, Becky had once again occupied his entire heart. He wanted to be with her.
He wanted to live a good life with her.
At this time, Becky, on the hospital bed, moved her eyelids and then slowly woke up. "You're awake?" Lucas asked softly.
Becky was stunned for a moment, thinking of something, then quickly checked herself, a flash of panic in her eyes. "Did they...?"
"It's okay. Nothing happened." Lucas knew what she meant. She was afraid those men had violated her.
Becky breathed a sigh of relief. "Thank you."
Lucas said, "You don't need to be so polite with me."
Becky glanced at him. "Of course I do. We're not even close friends right now."
'Not even close friends?' Lucas narrowed his eyes, slightly displeased. "So, what you mean is, at most, we're friends with benefits?"
'Friends with benefits!'
Thinking of their one-night stand in the hotel last time, Becky felt uncomfortable.
She wanted to get up, but a wave of dizziness came from her head.
Lucas quickly said, "Don't move. The doctor said you have a mild concussion and need to be observed in the hospital."
"It's okay." Becky struggled to sit up.
Lucas got a pillow and placed it behind her. "Do you want some water?"
Becky nodded. She licked her lips, indeed feeling a bit thirsty.
Lucas went to get her water.
Watching his tall figure, Becky's heart wavered.
Lucas's attitude towards her was different from before. He had never taken care of her so tenderly and thoughtfully before.
Could it be that he was starting to care about her? If he wanted to get back together...
"Here's your water." Lucas handed her the cup.
Becky snapped back to reality, quickly stopping her wild thoughts. She took the water cup and drank.
"Where's Noah?"
"He's at the hotel."
"Alone?"
"Yes."
Hearing this, Becky frowned immediately. "Lucas, how could you let him stay alone at the hotel?"
Lucas sat down. "What could I do? I had to come out and find you."
Becky was taken aback, then hurriedly said, "I'm fine now; you should go back to the hotel quickly."
Lucas looked at her steadily; his lips pressed thin.
'She really is heartless. Does she only have Noah in her mind?'
'I saved her, and all she said was a thank you before rushing him to leave. Does she value him so little? If it were in the past, she would definitely have clung to him, whining and crying.'
"I'm talking to you. You should go now!" Becky, seeing him silent, urged.
Lucas took a breath and said irritably, "Don't worry. When I came out, my assistant went to accompany Noah."
Hearing this, Becky relaxed.
Seeing Lucas's unhappy face, thinking that this man had saved her, she softened her tone. "How did you find me?"
Lucas glanced at her, about to speak, when the door was pushed open.
Aaron and Nora came in.
"Becky."
Before entering the room, Nora had Aaron put her down. She didn't want Becky and Lucas to laugh at her.
"Nora, Mr. Gordon, how come you're here?" Becky smiled.
"Nora, Aaron." Lucas stood up, greeting them.
"I called you, and it was Lucas who answered. That's how I knew something had happened to you."
Nora walked to the bedside, looking at Becky's forehead with concern. "How are you? Are you okay?"
Becky touched her forehead, smiling. "I'm fine, just a minor external injury."
Lucas added. "Luckily, she was smart enough to call me."
Becky glanced at him, her eyes flickering.
'If it weren't for Lucas today, I would have been in a terrible situation.'
'At the critical moment, I thought to call him.’
‘Could it be that in my heart, he was still a man I could rely on?’
‘No, no! I can’t soften my attitude just because Lucas showed me a little kindness.’
‘I can’t let myself fall back into old patterns just because I got a little bit of kindness.'
"What exactly happened? Who were the people tracking and kidnapping you?" Nora asked.
Becky came back to her senses, subconsciously looking towards Lucas.
"I'm not sure; I only knew someone was tracking me. Then, there was a car accident, and I lost consciousness. When I woke up, it seemed like I was in an abandoned warehouse. There were several men around me; they wanted to..."
Becky felt embarrassed and couldn't continue.
Lucas thought of the scene at that time, his face turning grim.
"When I received your call, I immediately had someone track your whereabouts. The people tracking you and those who hit you were in cahoots."
"They had planned it all, first to knock you out, then take you to the abandoned warehouse. They probably wanted to rape you first, then take naked photos of you."
"Fortunately, I arrived in time. My friends at the police station followed closely behind, arriving at the scene, then helped me catch those people."
"According to their confession, they were paid to do it. Someone paid them to rape you and post your nude photos online."
This statement made Becky clutch the blanket tightly. She was very angry. "Who would be so malicious?"
Lucas said coldly, "Those people didn't know who instructed them to do it. They only said it was a woman, and she paid in cash."
'A woman?'
Something flashed through Becky's mind, then she said excitedly, "Could it be Suzy who instructed them?"
Hearing this, Nora was somewhat surprised. "Suzy?"
Becky nodded. "I've been filming at the set all this time; I haven't offended anyone, so who would use such disgusting methods against me? Another possibility is that Suzy and Sunny teamed up."
"Nora, do you think it's possible that Suzy knew about me stirring up trouble, so she deliberately sought revenge?"
Hearing this, Nora nodded. "It is possible."
Suzy was indeed a person of narrow-mindedness.
She was kidnapping people, taking nude photos, and posting them online. Indeed, she could do such things.
"I had my police friend retrieve the surveillance footage of the transaction location. That person was very careful. She chose a place without cameras for the transaction, so we don't know what happened during their transaction." Lucas said coldly.
"However, the suspects confessed that the person came by taxi. I copied the surveillance footage of the nearby roads. Let's look for clues together and see if we can find the person behind this."
He opened his laptop and plugged in a thumb drive.
Nora and Aaron leaned in.
They carefully watched the surveillance video of the passing vehicles and soon locked onto a taxi.
"Lucas, enlarge the image of this taxi," Nora said.
Lucas complied and enlarged the image.
Becky sat on the hospital bed, watching their expressions, anxiously asking, "Have you found any clues?"
Nora slowly straightened up. "It's indeed Suzy."
The woman sitting in the car only showed a side profile, and she was wearing a hat, but Nora recognized her at a glance; that person was Suzy.
