Chapter 1016 Where Would Ghosts Come From in Broad Daylight

Nora nodded politely and left.

Astrid stormed past her, slamming the door.

Nora frowned, worried, and lingered a bit.

She heard voices inside—one loud, one gentle.

Astrid was clearly yelling at Maiken.

Hearing the noise, Alfred dropped his tablet and rushed in, followed by a man in black.

"Alfred, slow down," Samantha called, following them.

Nora, worried about Samantha, quickly followed too.

Inside, Astrid stood by the bed, yelling, hand raised to hit Maiken.

The bodyguard blocked her, preventing her from getting close.

In a rage, Astrid slapped the bodyguard, who took it without flinching.

Nora blinked. 'Is this bodyguard assigned by Walter to protect Maiken?'

It seemed Walter believed Maiken was innocent and had been framed.

"Mommy, Astrid is so fierce," Samantha said, worriedly looking at Alfred.

Alfred ran to the bed, glaring at Astrid.

After hitting the bodyguard, Astrid scolded Alfred.

Alfred stayed silent, tense.

Maiken pulled him close, letting Astrid vent.

After a while, Astrid stormed out, glaring at Maiken.

Nora quietly pulled Samantha aside.

Nora glanced at Maiken, who looked concerned for Alfred, and sighed.

If things were better, Maiken would have a better life.

Maybe Walter would give her money to leave someday.

A servant knocked and gestured for them to come.

Nora heard a car engine—Billy and Millie must be here.

"Samantha, let's go. Billy and Millie should be here."

"Okay."

Samantha took Alfred's hand. "Alfred, let's go see Billy."

Alfred's eyes lit up, but he hesitated, glancing at Maiken.

Maiken smiled. "Don't worry, I have a bodyguard."

Alfred nodded, looking at the bodyguard.

In the garden, Seraphina arrived with Billy and Millie.

Randall came home with them.

Seeing Billy, Randall kept his distance.

Seeing Astrid and Walter, Randall ran to them.

Astrid, in a bad mood, saw Randall and suppressed her anger.

Noticing his dirty clothes, she frowned. "How did you get dirty? Did someone bully you?"

Randall glanced at Billy, too scared to speak.

Astrid's face darkened. "Did someone bully you today?"

Randall shook his head.

"Was it him?" Astrid pointed at Billy.

She wasn't guessing; she knew they had come to confront her about Millie. Randall had bullied Millie before, and now he was scared of Billy. It was obvious.

Astrid didn't mind Nora and her group before, but now she hated them. Signe should deal with these Chrisland people!

"No, Mommy. I'm hungry. Let's go change clothes," Randall said, holding her hand.

Astrid didn't believe him. "Really? Randall, don't be afraid. Tell me what happened. I'll have Signe back you up."

Randall froze, thinking about today's events. "Mommy, Billy made me see a ghost. I'm so scared. Is he a witch doctor too?"

"What?" Astrid stopped. "Where did you see the ghost?"

"At the school gate. I fainted. Millie woke me up. Billy said Millie wasn't a jinx but a lucky dog. If I treat her badly again, I'll go to hell."

Astrid only cared about the ghost part. Randall had been scared unconscious. She thought, 'How could there be a ghost in broad daylight? Randall is clearly scared by Billy! These Chrisland people are too much! Nora meddles, and Billy bullies Randall. I have to settle this!'

Astrid turned and stormed towards Nora and the others, aiming for Billy.

She reached out to grab him, but Frederick stepped in, swatting her hand away. Astrid stumbled, almost falling, but Walter caught her.

"Astrid, what are you doing?" Walter frowned.

"This Chrisland kid bullied Randall! Are you going to do something about it or not?" Astrid shouted.

Walter had already heard about the kindergarten incident and was inquiring about the details. Seeing Astrid act irrationally, his frown deepened. "Stop being unreasonable. We're discussing this."

"Walter, what is there to discuss with these Chrisland people?" Astrid yelled. "They're horrible. I want Signe to deal with them!"

"Shut up. Don't be reckless. They are our guests!" Walter scolded.

"Guests? Nora meddles, releasing Maiken to disgust me. Now Billy bullies Randall, and you still treat them as guests! Do you think with Maiken's son Alfred around, Randall is dispensable?" Astrid raged.

Walter's face grew darker. "Astrid, be reasonable. If you have something to say, say it in private."

"Why in private? Are you afraid of being laughed at, Walter? You can do shameful things but are afraid of being talked about?" Astrid retorted.
