Chapter 395 Should the Truth Be Told to Nora?

Aaron found himself at a loss, unable to decipher Nora's intentions.

He had assumed that this would be the ideal moment for Nora to agree to marriage, and thus, when she had inquired about Millie's future, he had suggested they get married.

Nora was a woman of compassion, he knew she wouldn't abandon Millie. However, to his dismay, she had declined his proposal.

The rejection was a bitter pill to swallow. Why was it so challenging to convince her to marry him? Was he destined to remain in a perpetual state of uncertainty with Nora? Despite the turmoil, he accepted the situation. After all, he was in love with her.

Following their midday meal, Nora addressed the three children, "My darlings, you must stay at home and wait for me. Mommy is going back to Lindwood City."

Upon hearing this, the three children exchanged apprehensive glances. Samantha was the first to voice her concern, "Mommy, why are you leaving?"

Nora replied, "Don't you remember that I have to help Ryan with his treatment?"

Samantha remembered and nodded in understanding.

Nora then turned her attention to Millie, "Millie, will you say goodbye to Auntie Nora?"

Millie clung to Billy and stayed silent.

Billy asked, "Mommy, are you planning to take Millie to Lindwood City?"

Nora gently stroked Millie's hair and said, "She needs to stay in our country and be adopted by a good family. I'm going to Lindwood City to help her find a good home."

Upon hearing this, all three children became nervous.

Billy asked, "Mommy, can't our family adopt Millie?"

Samantha thought for a moment and said, "Mommy, can't we keep Millie? I finally have a little sister."

With Millie around, Samantha would no longer be the youngest. She relished the idea of being an older sister.

Nora, however, had to be honest, "My current situation does not meet the requirements for adoption."

Millie understood and clung to Billy, her eyes welling up with tears. "I don't want to go; I don't want to be separated from Billy."

Billy comforted her, patting her small hand, and asked Nora, "Mommy, is there really no way to keep her?"

Nora smiled and said, "Don't worry, Mommy doesn't meet the requirements for adoption, but I can still take care of Millie. Wait for my news."

Her words were vague, and the three children looked at each other, feeling uncertain.
"Mommy, can I go with you to see Ryan?" Samantha asked.

Nora raised an eyebrow and thought about how they didn't have to go to school today, so she said, "Sure."

"I want to go too," Billy said.

"Count me in," Alex added.

Nora looked into their eager eyes and understood their concerns. She smiled and said, "Alright, let's go together."

Were these little ones afraid that she would give Millie to a bad family to be adopted? Why would they think she would do such a thing?

The children, relieved and excited, rushed upstairs to prepare. Aaron watched their small figures disappear upstairs, his blue eyes narrowing in thought.

"Nora, tell me honestly, why are you taking Millie to Lindwood City?" he asked, suspicion creeping into his voice. He had a hunch. Could Nora be planning to have Millie adopted by either the Hamilton family's eldest brother or the Woodhouse family's eldest brother?

"You'll find out when we get there," Nora replied cryptically, turning to follow the children upstairs. Aaron was left alone, scratching his forehead in confusion, muttering to himself, "Failed forced marriage, no choice."

Meanwhile, at the Hamilton family residence, secluded in his study, Ebenezer Hamilton was engrossed in a series of phone calls, reaching out to those who were privy to the current situation.

Upon hearing the news that Billy was unharmed, a collective sigh of relief echoed from the close friends on the other end of the line. As Ebenezer hung up the phone, he too allowed himself a moment to exhale, his own sigh of relief filling the room.

"Thank goodness nothing happened," he murmured to himself. However, his relief was quickly replaced by a chilling anger. The person behind the whole ordeal was nothing short of despicable.

Recalling Aaron's words, Ebenezer's face hardened. It was likely that Ken was the mastermind behind the kidnapping. The audacity of the man to kidnap his own grandson was unfathomable. This time, Ebenezer vowed, Ken would not escape so easily.

A knock on the study door interrupted his thoughts. The door creaked open, revealing Emma. "Ebenezer," she said, "Suzy has returned. Come down and eat."

Snapping out of his thoughts, Ebenezer composed himself and left his study. Emma's voice followed him, "Did they find the child?"

"Yes," he replied.

"Is the child okay?"

"Yes, no harm done."

As they descended the staircase, Emma found herself wrestling with a conflict of emotions. Ever since discovering that Nora was the Master Healer of Dr. Sun, her disdain for Nora had significantly lessened. Nora, who seemed indifferent to fame and fortune, handled situations with grace. Emma found herself questioning why she had harbored such animosity toward Nora in the past.

Perhaps it was because of Suzy. Suzy's constant complaints had only fueled Emma's initial aversion towards Nora. But now, as Emma considered Nora's three children - Aaron's biological children - she felt a pang of guilt. If anything had happened during the kidnapping, if the children had been harmed and left ignorant of their biological father, it would have been a grave injustice. Should she tell Nora about the incident and allow them to reunite as a family of five?

"Dad, I'm back," Suzy greeted Ebenezer as they reached the bottom of the stairs.
Ebenezer responded indifferently, "Why are you back?"

Suzy smiled and replied, "Didn't something big happen at home? I was worried both of you might not be in a good mood, so I came back to keep you company." In reality, she had returned to gather information. The news of Billy's kidnapping had thrilled her. Ken had finally taken action against Nora. Had the child already died? If so, it would make her even happier.

"Aaron safely brought the child back," Emma informed her, aware of Suzy's ulterior motives.

Suzy's smile faltered, "Aaron safely brought the child back? Just like that? Nothing happened?" She couldn't comprehend how they had managed to recover the child so quickly.

"Of course, something happened," Ebenezer chimed in, "The kidnapping group has been taken care of."

Suzy's expression shifted dramatically. "Really? Did Aaron take care of them himself?"

"Yes." Ebenezer's expression turned cold, "If he hadn't dealt with this organization, I would have made sure someone else did."

Ebenezer was a former special forces soldier; people used to fear him when they heard his name.

Did they think he was old and lacked courage? Was that why they dared to harm his grandson?

This time, Aaron had a plan, so Ebenezer allowed him to proceed. Otherwise, he would have used his connections to wipe out the Rochester organization long ago.

Suzy remained silent, her gaze flickering uncertainly.

'It's over,' Ken thought to himself. With the downfall of the club, Ken's prospects were also dashed.

Seeing Ebenezer's stance, it was clear that he wouldn't easily let Ken off the hook.

If something happened to Ken, Jackson would lose a valuable asset. This always seemed to be the case, with their side always ending up as the losers! Nora was nothing but trouble!

"Let's go, let's grab a meal," Emma said.

Suzy wasn't in the mood to eat, but since she was in their presence, she had to suppress her irritation and join them for a meal.

During the meal, Ebenezer received a call from Mr. Hamilton Senior.

"You go and tell Nora to bring the three kids to Lindwood City for school," Mr. Hamilton Senior said.
