Chapter 693 He Wants to Kill Curtis after Finishing the Job

The car stopped in another alley, the headlights went out, and moments later, someone got out of the driver's seat.

Jane slightly straightened her body, her gaze falling on Frederick as he stepped out of the car, her eyes squinting.

This man should be the one her colleague showed her, the one who kidnapped Curtis!

She stared at him intently, trying to recognize his face.

A sliver of moonlight fell from the sky.

Frederick slightly turned his head, seemingly on alert as he looked around.

Jane's eyes locked onto him, finally seeing his face clearly.

Something suddenly flashed through her mind.

She remembered where she had seen Frederick before.

It was earlier that morning at Radiant Beauty Clinic where she saw the black-clad bodyguard Frederick protecting Nora.

Jane furrowed her brows. Nora's bodyguard kidnapped Curtis. Who instructed him to do this, and what was their purpose?

Frederick, not noticing anything unusual, entered the warehouse to check on Curtis.

Curtis had been knocked out and brought here by him earlier.

Now, he was awake.

At this moment, Curtis's hands and feet were tied, and his mouth was gagged with a towel. He looked at Frederick with a face full of terror.

Frederick squatted down and glanced at Curtis. He patted his head, and then got up to leave without saying anything.

Curtis's eyes widened, and he shouted through the gag, trying to get Frederick to stop.

Who was this guy? Why wasn't he talking?

"Hey, man, don't go!"

"Don't play the silent game!"

"Tell me what's going on before you leave!"

Curtis wanted to ask, but he could not speak clearly.

The warehouse door closed, and Curtis mumbled for a long time, but no one paid attention to him. He became anxious and panicked.

He twisted his body, trying to break the ropes on his hands, but it was futile.

Sweat beaded on Curtis's forehead. He looked around and suddenly noticed a blade on the ground.

His eyes lit up, and he quickly wriggled his body bit by bit towards it. Then, he picked up the blade with difficulty and started to cut the ropes on his hands.

Outside the warehouse, Frederick stood quietly by the window, listening to the sounds inside without moving.

Jane, sitting in the car, didn't dare to move either. She stared intently at the situation by the warehouse, somewhat puzzled.

It seemed like Frederick was guarding Curtis.

What exactly was Frederick waiting for? After more than half an hour, a car sped over.

Then, several burly men got out of the car.

Frederick, who was guarding outside the warehouse, quickly ran to a hidden corner.

Coincidentally, he ended up right next to Jane's car.

Jane had intended to get out of the car, but seeing this, she could only curl up her body as much as possible.

Then she heard Frederick's voice.

"Hello, is this the police? I want to report a crime."

Jane was stunned.

What was Frederick doing?

First, he kidnapped Curtis, and now he was calling the police.

Jane thought about her identity as a police officer.

Since Frederick was calling the police, she might as well not hide anymore.

So, Jane opened the car door and got out.

Frederick, who had just finished the call, was startled and immediately looked at Jane with a vigilant expression, assuming a defensive posture.

Jane smiled and said, "Don't be nervous. I know Dr. Smith."

Frederick squinted his eyes, recognizing her, a look of surprise flashing in his eyes.

"Jane Harvey?"

Jane nodded. "Can you tell me what you're doing? First, you kidnapped Curtis, and now you're calling the police. What exactly are you up to?"

Frederick looked at her. "How did you know I kidnapped Curtis?"

Jane said, "Because Curtis is a suspect we've been watching. The police have been monitoring him for a while."

Just as Frederick was about to speak, a scream came from the warehouse.

Both of them turned their heads and saw that the burly men who had just gotten out of the car had already stormed into the warehouse.

Frederick's face turned serious. "Officer Jane, no time to talk, we need to save him."

Although Jane didn't fully understand the situation, she couldn't let anything happen to Curtis. She quickly drew her gun and rushed towards the warehouse with Frederick.

Inside the warehouse, Curtis had just cut the ropes on his hands and feet with the blade.

He was overjoyed but then saw someone break in.

Curtis thought it was Frederick, but upon closer inspection, he recognized the leader, Benjamin Williams, as someone who worked for Jackson.

His eyes lit up. "It's you guys! Mr. Gordon sent you to find me. Get me out of here quickly."

Benjamin sneered coldly, "Mr. Gordon did send us, but not to take you home. We're here to send you to meet god!"

With that, he pulled out a handgun and fired a shot in Curtis's direction.

Curtis was shocked and quickly dodged to the side.

But the bullet was faster than Curtis's movement, hitting him in the arm. Curtis screamed in pain, clutching his arm and hiding in a corner.

"What are you doing? Why are you trying to kill me? Who sent you?" Curtis angrily demanded.

Benjamin pointed the gun at Curtis and didn't bother to hide the truth.

"Mr. Gordon said you know too much. Only a dead man can keep his mouth shut!"

With that, Benjamin fired several more shots in Curtis's direction.

Gunshots echoed, and Curtis ran around, getting hit by another bullet.

He screamed and fell to the ground.

Blood kept seeping from Curtis's arm.

He lay on the ground, gasping for breath, watching Benjamin approach him step by step, the dark muzzle of the gun aimed at his chest, his face turning pale.

Today, he was going to die here!

It was Jackson who sent them to kill him.

That bastard Jackson! Curtis helped him regain control of the Gordon Group, and now Jackson was killing him after he had served his purpose!

That bloody Jackson, Curties swore he would haunt him even as a ghost!

Just when Curtis thought he was doomed, the warehouse door was forcefully pushed open.

"Police! Hands up, or I'll shoot!"

Jane's firm voice rang out.

Curtis's eyes lit up. He had never been more eager to see the police than at this moment.

"Police, save me!"

The burly men were startled, turning their heads sharply to look at Jane.

Benjamin fired a shot in Jane's direction.

Jane and Frederick quickly dodged.

Jane raised her gun and fired at Benjamin, hitting his right arm.

Benjamin screamed, his arm dropping limply.

Frederick, with a cold gaze and swift movements, charged at the burly men armed with steel pipes but no guns.

They quickly got into a brawl.

Injured, Benjamin gritted his teeth and fired two more shots at Jane before abandoning his companions and fleeing outside.

"Stop, don't run!" Jane chased after him, firing another shot at Benjamin.

This shot hit Benjamin in the leg.

Benjamin cried out in pain, falling to the ground, but quickly got up and ran towards his car.

Seeing Benjamin about to open the car door, Jane aimed and fired two shots at the tires.

The tires instantly deflated.
