Chapter 1089 Millie Just Liked Herself
Samantha was secretly grinning, just waiting to see how Billy would react.
Billy had a thing for Millie. Seeing Samantha trying to set them up, Billy would get all jittery. And when he got jittery, he'd definitely spill Alfred's secret.
But outta nowhere, Billy caught onto something in her words. "Wait, you said Millie likes me?"
Samantha facepalmed, looking all frustrated. She tried to trick Billy but ended up tricking herself.
Billy had already caught on; taking it back now would just make her look shady. She instinctively opened Millie's Facebook and shot a message: "Oh no, Millie, something big happened."
Millie didn't reply, probably busy with something.
Samantha took a deep breath, trying to figure out how to fix this mess. "I don't know if Millie likes you; I was just trying to get you to spill the beans. By the way, Billy, do you like Millie?"
On the other end, Billy smiled silently in the cool night breeze. He looked up and saw a light on in a room on the third floor of the villa. That was Millie's room.
A soft light flickered in his eyes. No doubt about it, Millie did like him. Millie and Samantha had shared everything since they were kids. If Samantha liked someone, she'd definitely tell Millie. And if Millie liked someone, she'd definitely tell Samantha.
Billy didn't buy Samantha's excuse about just trying to provoke him. Careless Samantha had unintentionally spilled the beans about Millie.
Billy chuckled to himself, just as Samantha asked again. "Well, answer me, do you like Millie or not?"
Billy smirked and sent: "Wanna know?"
Samantha: "Yes."
Billy: "Then keep wondering."
Samantha looked at the message and couldn't help but roll her eyes. Billy was getting more annoying. Alex was still better.
"Samantha, what's the big deal? Did you break up with Wesley?" Millie finally replied.
Samantha was speechless and sent a few emojis: "Don't jinx me and Wesley."
Millie: "Then what's the big deal?"
Samantha stuck out her tongue and replied: "I accidentally spilled your feelings."
Millie sent a bunch of question marks.
Samantha sent a screenshot of her chat with Billy.
Millie sent a sweating emoji.
Samantha tried to cover herself and sent: "Luckily, I'm smart. Billy was definitely fooled by me."
Millie: "Do you think he's that easy to fool?"
Samantha felt a bit guilty. "I don't care; I just think he was fooled."
Millie: "Alright, keep lying to yourself."
At that moment, Alfred came out of the kitchen with a dish. "Samantha, dinner's ready."
Samantha replied and sent to Millie: "Gotta go, time to eat."
Samantha felt too guilty. She was afraid Millie would blame her. But on second thought, she felt it was no big deal.
Millie and Billy were into each other; they both knew it. It was just that Millie was waiting for Billy to make the first move. And Billy, usually so sharp, was particularly clueless in this matter, not confessing his feelings.
"What are you thinking about?" Seeing her distracted, Alfred asked.
Samantha sat at the dining table and blurted out, "Thinking about you."
She had just thought about Millie and Billy, and then thought of Alfred, just as he asked her this question.
Alfred was taken aback, a spark lighting up in his eyes. "You're thinking about me?"
Samantha quickly backpedaled, "Don't get it twisted, I was just asking Billy who he likes."
Alfred raised an eyebrow, "And what did he say?"
Samantha pouted, "You guys are all the same, so annoying."
Alfred chuckled and handed her the utensils. "So, he didn't spill?"
Samantha caught on to something. "Wait, so Billy really knows who you have a crush on?"
Alfred grinned. "A lot of people know who I like."
Samantha's eyes went wide. "Who else knows?"
"Just eat," Alfred said, serving her some soup.
Samantha bit her fork, her eyes gleaming with curiosity. "Alfred, you don't have a thing for Millie, do you?"
Alfred's hand shook as he served the soup. He looked at her, stunned and momentarily speechless.
Seeing his reaction, Samantha's eyes widened in shock. "No way, you really like Millie? Dude, you're toast. You better drop that idea; she's totally into Billy."
Alfred snapped out of it and smiled. "Samantha, your imagination is wild."
Samantha blinked her clear eyes. "So, you don't like Millie?"
"I only see her as a sister."
"Thank goodness."
Samantha let out a sigh of relief. "So, who do you like then?"
Alfred smirked, "You'll find out eventually."
"When?"
"Just eat your food."
"Will you tell me after I finish eating?"
Alfred chuckled, his eyes full of affection.
Of course, after Samantha finished eating, Alfred still didn't spill the beans.
Samantha pouted unhappily on the couch.
Alfred tried to coax her, "Wanna watch a movie together?"
Samantha turned her head. "Nope!"
Alfred kept trying, "Wanna sing a song?"
Samantha gave him a cold smile, clearly not interested.
Alfred scratched his head. "How about I sing a song for you?"
Samantha's eyes lit up, and she nodded. "Sure."
Alfred was ready for her to say no, but she didn't follow the usual script. Problem was, he was tone-deaf. "Are you sure you wanna hear me sing?"
"Didn't you say you wanted to sing? I'll listen, go ahead," Samantha said.
"If I sing, will it make you happy?" Alfred asked.
"Maybe." Samantha sat cross-legged, hugging a pillow, looking all ears.
Alfred sighed, "I think you might be even more unhappy after hearing me sing."
Samantha rolled her eyes.
Five minutes later, listening to Alfred's off-key singing, Samantha laughed so hard she fell onto the couch. "Alfred, how can you make a simple song sound so dramatic?"
Alfred looked innocent. "I'm tone-deaf, you knew that since we were kids."
"I thought you'd have improved over the years. And you offered to sing today. Didn't expect that." Samantha's stomach hurt from laughing.
"I can't help it; I have no talent for music." Seeing her laugh so heartily, Alfred felt it was worth it to make a fool of himself.
"Want to continue?"
"Continue," Samantha said.
"Are you sure? I'm afraid the neighbors might knock, thinking there's a ghost."
Samantha laughed so hard she almost couldn't breathe. "Even though your singing is bad, it's not that exaggerated."
Before she finished speaking, there was a knock on the door.
The two exchanged glances, and Samantha sat up straight, looking surprised. "No way, your singing really disturbed the neighbors."
