Chapter 786 What to Do If He Didn't Listen to Her

Jenny answered the phone, "Hello?"

"Jenny, do you really not know why Mr. Bishop terminated my contract?" Ulysses asked.

Jenny knew the reason but still said, "I have no idea."

Ulysses sighed, "My agent told me I offended Mr. Bishop, so the company terminated my contract. After thinking it over, I believe it was because he saw me dancing with you last night and got jealous."

Just as she had suspected!

Jenny gripped her phone tightly, her eyes filled with anger.

How could Edric do this?

She was already feeling wronged at home, and Edric didn't help her. Now, she couldn't even go out and vent her emotions with Ulysses!

Edric was driving her crazy.

"Ulysses, don't worry. Take some time to rest at home. I won't let the company terminate your contract," Jenny said.

"Forget it, Jenny. Don't argue with Mr. Bishop for my sake. I'll just find another company," Ulysses said.

Suppressing her anger, Jenny said, "Listen to me. Just rest at home for a few days and wait for my news."

Ulysses hesitated for a moment and then agreed, "Okay."

Jenny hung up and immediately called Edric.

The call was quickly answered. "Jenny, what's up?"

Jenny asked, "Tell me, did you have the company terminate Ulysses' contract?"

Edric was silent for a moment. " Did you see the notice?"

"Yes, why did you have the company terminate Ulysses' contract? How did he offend you?" Jenny demanded.

Edric let out a cold laugh. "He covets my wife. The fact that I didn't cripple him is already merciful!"

There was a hint of ruthlessness in Edric's tone.

Jenny was furious. "Edric, Ulysses and I are just friends. Do you have to be so harsh? By your logic, should I also go after Ursula, get her fired, or worse, cripple her?"

Edric paused, displeased. "Jenny, that's a different matter. Don't mix them up."

"How is it different? Can you honestly say Ursula doesn't have any improper thoughts about you?" Jenny's voice rose in anger.

Edric's voice also deepened. "Jenny, stop being unreasonable. I'm driving. We'll talk when I get back."

With that, he hung up.

Jenny felt a lump in her throat from anger.

She swallowed hard, forcing back her tears, and sent Edric a message.

Jenny: [You need to cancel Ulysses' termination notice immediately and continue to support him, or I'll treat Ursula the same way you treated Ulysses!]

Edric didn't reply to her message, and Jenny's throat felt tight again.

She tossed her phone aside, lay down, and closed her eyes, thinking about what to do.

If Edric didn't listen to her, what should she do?

Meanwhile, Edric sped home, his face dark with anger.

Jenny had even threatened him over Ulysses!

"Mr. Bishop, you're back!"

The butler opened the door for Edric.

"How's my mom?" Edric asked, trying to control his emotions.

"Mrs. Bishop just took her medicine and is feeling much better."

"Alright."

Edric didn't ask further and went upstairs, pushing open his parents' bedroom door.

At that moment, Fiona was resting against the headboard, with Edward by her side.

Also present were Ursula and Yvette.

"Edric's back," Ursula said, her eyes lighting up as she saw him.

Edric glanced at her.

Ursula's face was covered with a thin white veil.

It seemed her nose had just been corrected, and it was probably still bandaged.

Ursula was worried about her appearance, so she covered her face with a thin veil.

"Mom, are you okay?"

Fiona turned her head away with a stern face. "Why did you even come back? Do you still care about me?"

Edric smiled apologetically. "Of course I do. You're my mom. Without you, how could I have all this wealth and success?"

Fiona glared at him. "Stop with the flattery. One of these days, you're going to drive me to my grave!"

"Don't be mad. If you ruin your health, how will you hold your grandchild?"

Edric deliberately mentioned a grandchild, hinting to Fiona that he and Jenny would soon give her a chubby grandchild.

Fiona's eyes flickered. "You've been married to Jenny for over half a year, and there's no news of pregnancy. She's so skinny; maybe she can't have children. Let me tell you, you're my only son, and you can't marry a woman who can't have kids!"

Hearing this, Edric frowned. "Mom, what are you talking about? Jenny is in great health."

"She's so skinny. How is she supposed to be good for childbearing?"

Fiona rolled her eyes at him and then looked at Ursula.

"Look at Ursula, with her round hips. That's the kind of woman who can bear sons. If you marry Ursula, she'll definitely give you a healthy boy."

"Auntie Bishop, what are you saying?"

Ursula looked shy and glanced at Edric.

"Mom, you're talking nonsense again!"

Edric's face darkened.

Fiona knew he was upset and clutched her chest. "Can you not raise your voice? My chest hurts."

Edric suppressed his irritation and said gently, "Alright, talking too much is exhausting. You should lie down and rest."

"Then you can't leave again," Fiona said.

Edric pressed his lips together and said nothing.

"Why aren't you saying anything? Are you planning to leave again? Edric, you treat this place like a hotel. If you leave now, don't come back again!"

Fiona clutched her chest again, her brows furrowed, looking extremely uncomfortable.

Edric sighed, "Fine, I won't leave."

A look of satisfaction flashed in Fiona's eyes. "Your dad hasn't slept well these past few days because of my illness. Let him sleep in the guest room tonight, and you stay in my room to take care of me."

Edric glanced at Edward, seeing that he indeed didn't look well, and agreed.

Fiona was pleased and said to Yvette, who was standing by. "Yvette, we're all getting old and shouldn't stay up late. You should go to bed early, too."

This was to create an opportunity for Edric and Ursula to be alone.

Yvette understood and said to Ursula, "Ursula, stay here and keep Aunt Fiona company for a while."

"Okay," Ursula replied obediently.

Edric helped Fiona lie down, and Ursula said, "Edric, I'll go cut some fruit for you."

"No need; you should go to bed early, too," Edric said.

Ursula didn't say anything and turned to leave.

The room was left with just Edric and Fiona.

Fiona said, "Edric, don't be so cold to Ursula. After all, Yvette and I are best friends. You're making it difficult for me."

Edric looked at her. "Mom, if you keep trying to set me up with Ursula, one day, you'll find it even more difficult!"

Fiona was displeased. "What's wrong with Ursula? What sort of taste must you have to prefer someone as insignificant as Jenny?"
