Chapter 629 News Update

Sandy felt warm and apologetic. Her gaze shifted to Emma, who had been silent the whole time and seemed a bit uneasy.

Emma must not be happy about her return home.

"Are you hungry? Go eat first," Emma said in a calm tone, not showing any displeasure towards Sandy.

Nora, standing aside, also felt nervous, fearing that Emma might say something hurtful.

Fortunately, Emma remained silent.

Nora smiled happily and said, "Sandy, let's go eat."

Sandy smiled and walked towards the dining room with Kenneth's arm around her.

The family sat together at the table, feeling like old times.

As the dishes were served, Emma, looking at the veil on Sandy's face, couldn't help but ask, "Why don't you take off the veil? How can you eat like this?"

She still had some opinions about Sandy. However, with Kenneth bringing her home, she couldn't express her dissatisfaction openly. She just hoped that there wouldn't be any more accidents and that the family could live peacefully.

"My face is ugly; I'm afraid of scaring everyone," Sandy said, touching her face through the veil.

Emma, having heard from Nora about Sandy's self-inflicted scars as a form of repentance, hesitated to speak further.

Sandy was quite tough. She wouldn't dare to cut her face like that.

"It's okay. Even if you're ugly, you're still my child's mother. I don't mind, and no one dares to call you ugly," Kenneth said calmly, then proceeded to remove the veil from her face without hesitation.

Sandy was surprised by his actions and instinctively covered her face. However, everyone had already seen it.

On Sandy's once fair skin, there were now two ugly scars, ruining her former beauty.

Emma furrowed her brows.

"You look so ugly now. If you go out with Kenneth in the future, won't people laugh at you?" she couldn't help but comment.

Kenneth would be the head of the family, and Sandy would be the future hostess; it would be quite embarrassing for Sandy to go out with a scarred face.

Sandy's heart trembled, and she remained silent, not knowing what to say. She never thought she would return to this family, so she hadn't considered about it.

At that moment, she only wanted to say goodbye to the past and seek redemption.

She felt a warm temperature in her hands.

Kenneth's dry hands enveloped hers.

"Sandy is my wife. Anyone who mocks her is mocking me. I wonder who would dare to cause trouble for me," Kenneth said with a hint of authority and intimidation, making it clear that he wouldn't be taken lightly.

The warmth from his hand spread through Sandy's body, making her feel like she was bathed in sunlight, warming her heart.

"Have you forgotten about who I am?" Nora coughed lightly, tapping the table, and asked with a smile.

Howard, who was nearby, immediately understood, saying, "Yes, Mom, Dad, Kenneth, Nora has been working on herbal medicine in the pharmacy these days. She has probably developed a treatment for Sandy's facial scars."

Nora snapped her fingers and praised, "Howard understands me."

Howard raised his eyebrows and shared a knowing smile with Nora.

Kenneth also smiled, saying, "Nora, I'll leave it to you."

"Okay," Nora said, looking at Sandy, "I promise to give Sandy even smoother and more tender skin than before."

Upon hearing this, Sandy felt grateful. But after the gratitude, she couldn't help but hesitate. She had destroyed her appearance to sever ties with her past self. But if she restored her appearance, wouldn't she become Jinx reincarnated?

She didn't want that!

As if understanding her thoughts, Kenneth suddenly said, "Dad, how is the Radiant Beauty Clinic that I acquired before I went into a coma now?"

Ebenezer pondered for a moment and said, "I'm not very familiar with that area, but based on the reports, it appears to be developing well."

Kenneth nodded and looked at Sandy, saying, "Sandy, you will personally inspect the hospital's services and technology on another day."

Upon hearing this, Sandy was taken aback and asked, "Do you want me to inspect Radiant Beauty Clinic?"

"Yes," Kenneth said, "As the lady of the Hamilton Group and a renowned doctor, you are supposed to go and inspect the new project I just invested in. It would be more convincing if you also try some skincare and minor adjustments to see the results."

Sandy looked at Kenneth's handsome face and suddenly understood his intentions.

Sending her to inspect the project was just a way to have her undergo a facial adjustment. He was concerned that she might have reservations once her face was restored, but Kenneth truly understood her.

Seeing Sandy's silence, Kenneth added, "These procedures might be a bit painful. Sandy, are you afraid of pain? If you are..."

"I'm not afraid of pain," Sandy quickly interjected. As long as she could be by Kenneth's side, and he could be safe and not troubled by her, she was willing to change her face.

Would she be able to say goodbye to the past once her face was adjusted? Could she start anew with him?

"Let's eat," Kenneth said contentedly, serving Sandy some food.

Sandy became relaxed, and she began to take care of Kenneth.

Seeing her relax and genuinely smile, Nora smiled, too.

Sandy felt a weight lifted off her heart. It felt good.

As she ate her meal, she couldn't help but think of Aaron, and suddenly, she lost her appetite.

When would she receive news about Aaron?

The answer came the next morning.

Nora, having spent another sleepless night, was just drifting off to sleep when a phone call woke her up. It was from Alex.

She sat up abruptly, eagerly listening to what Alex had to say about Aaron.

"I've found a clue about Uncle Aaron," Alex said.

"Tell me," Nora said, gripping her phone tightly.

"The intelligence network reported that the real Uncle Aaron may have been seriously injured and rescued from the sea. He is currently with a minority group called the Lumirians," Alex said.

Nora was thrilled to hear this news. As long as Aaron was alive, that was all that mattered to her. She didn't care for the fake Aaron; she just wanted to find the real one as soon as possible.

"I understand. I'll go find him right away," Nora said.

"Mom, Uncle Noe and I will come to pick you up and help you find Uncle Aaron," Alex said.

"Okay." Nora agreed. She wouldn't act impulsively and go alone to find Aaron.

The Lumirians were vast, and she would rely on the Jones' intel network for information on Aaron's whereabouts.

Nora quickly freshened up, dressed neatly, and waited for Alex to pick her up.
