Chapter 144 Take the Chance to Learn from Mr. Hawk

"Yes," the three children nodded together.

"Sure. But are you planning to go to the theater? Couldn't we watch something at home?" Nora inquired, puzzled.

"It's more fun at the theater," Billy interjected.

Nora considered for a moment, then nodded. "Alright, I'll check out what's on and book the tickets later."

"No need, Mom; I can handle the booking," Alex quickly said.

"That's fine, then. I'm off," Nora said without overthinking, trusting Alex to handle things before grabbing her bag and leaving.

As soon as the door closed, the three young heads huddled together.

"Did you get the tickets?" Samantha asked.

"All set," confirmed Alex.

"Time to call Mr. Gordon and give him the heads up?" Billy suggested.

Alex nodded, pulling out his phone and dialing Aaron's number.

At that moment, Aaron was in an important meeting at Gordon Group's boardroom.

Dressed in his customary white shirt and black trousers, he exuded a cold majesty and the command of a leader.

The executives were all intensely focused on reporting their work.

Only Jackson was nonchalantly fiddling with his phone, half-listening.

Suddenly, Aaron's phone on the table buzzed. He glanced at it and saw Alex calling, and his brows lifted slightly.

He gestured for the executive to pause the report and answered the call.

"Alex?"

His voice was gentle, surprising the executives around the table.

Jackson's interruption in his phone play was brief; he looked up curiously at Aaron.

Alex said, "Mr. Gordon, do you still want to pursue my mom?"

Aaron's gaze showed a subtle shift as he replied with certainty, "Yes."

"I've booked movie tickets for tonight at 8:30. You should take Mom," Alex suggested.

A flash of surprise appeared in Aaron's eyes.
He was fretting over how to cheer up Nora when, to his surprise, the three kids had already concocted a plan for him.

As the thought crossed his mind, a hint of a smile flickered across his face. "Alright."

"You got to remember to bring flowers and spend some time picking up tips from Mr. Hawk," Alex advised earnestly.

Aaron arched an eyebrow, amused.

Was he being advised to take lessons from Edric to become a ladies' man?

After hanging up the phone, Aaron gestured for the executives to continue their reports.

Jackson, sitting in his swivel chair, sported a playful smirk. "Aaron, who were you chatting with on the phone? Alex? Is he some secret love child you've been raising on the side? Or maybe Nora's? Planning on playing stepdad?"

Aaron's handsome face remained impassively cool. "Jackson, in the office, please address me as Mr. Gordon. And perhaps you should focus more on work than gossiping. It might save you from being fired, unlike your father."

"You!"

Jackson's face tingled with a shade of anger, and a flicker of malice passed through his eyes.

One day, he would take Aaron down.

And Nora—she had made a fool of him last time. He wouldn't let it go just like that!

After the meeting, Noe wheeled Aaron back to the CEO's office.

Thinking of Alex's words, Aaron pulled out his phone and dialed Edric's number.

He wanted to ask the notorious playboy exactly what he had done to make such an impression on Alex.

The phone connected, and Edric's characteristic rogue tone came through. "Aaron, what's up?"

"What did you do today?" Aaron was direct.

Edric replied casually, "Well, after I got up this morning, I went over to Nora's in Star River Bay to pick up Jenny for work."

"Hold on a second," Aaron interrupted quickly.

"What's up?"

"You picked up Jenny for work?" Aaron inquired.

"Yeah, is there a problem?" Edric chuckled.

Aaron's dark eyes flickered. "Tell me exactly how it went when you picked up Jenny."

Alex must have wanted him to learn from Edric how to charm women.

Jenny showed no interest in Edric, somewhat like Nora's attitude toward him.

He needed to know how Edric was pursuing Jenny.

"Aaron, what are you getting at? Why are you asking about this?"

"Just tell me," Aaron insisted.

"This morning, I brought a bouquet of red roses."

Edric described the events that transpired at Nora's place that morning.

When Aaron heard about Edric kissing Jenny in front of everyone, his eyebrows shot up sharply.
No wonder Alex told him to be more assertive. That's where the magic is!

Forget if she's willing or not; a man's got to take charge!

It seems he's learned.

"Anything else you want to ask?" Edric finished inquiring.

Aaron said, "No, that's all; I'm hanging up."

"You're asking for so many details. Are you trying to steal my moves? Want to learn how to pursue Nora?" Edric smartly teased.

Aaron scoffed, "Do I need to learn from you about chasing women?"

"That confident? Then how about a challenge to see who wins her over first?" Edric asked with a laugh.

Aaron's gaze flickered, then with a cold snort, he replied, "Childish games focusing on winning and losing don't concern me later," and hung up.

"Afraid, aren't you?"

Edric's taunting voice came through the line just as Aaron disconnected the call.

A CEO like him, lacking confidence? Impossible.

"Noe, later, get me a bunch of roses. Make sure they're fresh and good-looking."

Noe paused, then quickly understood, "Alright."

The CEO is ordering roses; it's definitely for Nora, right?

Is he starting to pursue Nora?

...

Nora went to the Sanatorium to see Carter.

She was overjoyed to see Nora.

Hearing that Nora came to take her home, she was thrilled but quickly declined.

"No need, Nora; I'm quite comfortable here."

Nora took her hand and said, "Grandma, I have selfish reasons for bringing you home. I have to look after three kids now, but with so much on my plate, I need someone I trust to help watch them. I can't rely on outsiders, so with you, I'd have peace of mind."

Carter was someone who could read the room.

She had her reservations, not wanting to be a burden to Nora.

So that's why Nora phrased it that way, making Carter feel she was doing Nora a favor by coming to stay.

This eliminated Carter's concerns.

Upon hearing this, Carter indeed smiled.

"Nora, as long as you don't mind, I'd love nothing more than to help my granddaughter out."

"Why would I mind? Just give me a moment, and I'll sort out your discharge papers," Nora said with a smile.

"Okay."

Carter's face was full of contentment as she secretly wiped away tears.

She had thought she'd spend the rest of her days in the Sanatorium.

But now her granddaughter had come to take her home.

She felt incredibly blessed!

She only regretted that she hadn't raised Charles better, making Nora suffer so much.

From now on, she was determined to do right by Nora and take good care of the three kids!

After Nora finished the paperwork, she took Carter back to the villa.
The kids had already been waiting at the doorstep when they received the call from Nora.

Upon seeing Carter, they all greeted her politely.

"How are you, Grandma Carter?"
