Chapter 1102 Save Our Baby
"Chill out, Elijah, you're being nuts." Wesley's chest was heaving with anger as he shoved Elijah hard.
Elijah slipped and hit the ground with a thud. Pain shot through her belly, and she clutched her stomach, wincing.
Wesley glared down at her, eyes blazing. "Elijah, have I been too soft on you? Is that why you think you can mess with my life? Remember your place; you're just my assistant. Do what I say or get lost!"
With that, Wesley turned away, ready to make the announcement himself.
Elijah felt a sharp, throbbing pain in her lower abdomen, and a warm flow began to seep out. She saw blood trickling down her legs.
Panic surged through her, and she quickly called out to Wesley. "Wesley, don't go! I don't feel well. Please take me to the hospital!"
Wesley, in a foul mood, thought she was faking it and walked into the bedroom without looking back, slamming the door behind him.
Elijah was both scared and in pain, tears welling up in her eyes. Her baby, the little life inside her, was slipping away. This was her and Wesley's child. It couldn't end like this.
"Wesley, come out! I'm pregnant with your child. Please save our baby!" Elijah struggled to get up from the floor but fell back down, her legs giving out.
The intense pain made her dizzy, and she cried out, "The baby, Wesley, please save our baby!"
Hearing this, Wesley finally came out of the room. Seeing Elijah lying in a pool of blood, he was shocked and panicked.
Wesley quickly walked over to her, his voice trembling, "What did you say? You're pregnant with my child?"
Elijah reached out and grabbed his pant leg. "Yes, Wesley, I'm pregnant. My stomach hurts so much. Please save our baby."
Wesley felt like he'd been hit by a truck. He stared blankly at Elijah's pleading, pain-stricken face, his mind momentarily blank. 'Elijah is pregnant. She is carrying my child! How is that possible? We only hooked up twice, how could she be pregnant?'
A sudden image of Samantha flashed through his mind. If Elijah was pregnant, he didn't know what would happen with Samantha.
"Wesley, please save our baby," Elijah cried out again, then her head slumped to the side as she lost consciousness.
Wesley snapped back to reality, looking at the unconscious Elijah. He swallowed hard and quickly scooped her up in his arms. "Elijah, hold on. I'll take you to the hospital right away."
Meanwhile, Samantha and Ryan had taken Alfred to the hospital for a check-up.
Ryan went to park the car, while Samantha took Alfred inside.
Seeing Samantha bustling around for him, tenderness flashed in Alfred's eyes. His arm was only slightly injured. Shea was making a big fuss over nothing. But he hoped she would fuss over him a bit more, only then could he feel her concern for him.
"Alright, let's wait for a bit." Samantha helped him sit on a bench to wait for their turn. She glanced at Alfred's arm, her brows furrowing slightly. "Does it hurt?"
'If we had waited any longer, the wound would have healed.' Alfred thought to himself but, seeing Samantha's worried eyes, he blinked and nodded. "A little."
Samantha's brows furrowed even more. She was all worried and apologetic.
Alfred couldn't help but chuckle, "I'm just messing with you. This little scratch doesn't hurt at all." He hated seeing Samantha all stressed out over him.
Samantha looked up, met his affectionate gaze, and quickly looked away, pulling her hand back.
Seeing her pull away, the light in Alfred's eyes dimmed a bit. He thought, 'She's uncomfortable. I was too forward. Will we ever be able to talk freely like before?'
Just then, Ryan showed up. "Did you make an appointment?"
"Yeah. Ryan, I'm gonna hit the restroom. Can you hang with Alfred?" Samantha felt a wave of relief seeing Ryan.
"Sure thing." Ryan plopped down in her seat.
Noticing Alfred's gaze following Samantha, Ryan raised an eyebrow.
Alfred snapped out of it and stared blankly at his wound.
Ryan poked at his wound. "Should I make it bigger so you can play the sympathy card and get her to take care of you?"
Alfred shot him a look and said, "Thanks, man."
Ryan smirked, "So, should I really do it?"
Alfred chuckled. "Nah, I don't wanna be that low."
"How's that low? It's just a little trick to win over a girl," Ryan teased, "Besides, haven't you ever been low?"
Alfred looked at him. "When have I ever been low?"
Ryan replied, "You used another girl to make Samantha jealous and see her reaction. Isn't that low?"
Alfred uncomfortably touched his nose. "Once was enough. No need to be low again."
Ryan nodded and sighed. "True, now that everything's out in the open and they’ve made up, no tricks will work."
Alfred was stunned, a hint of sadness flashing in his deep blue eyes. He thought he could be Samantha's knight forever.
Samantha went to the restroom. After coming out, she looked at herself in the mirror, and scenes of Alfred protecting her flashed through her mind.
Samantha bit her lip, trying to calm the flutter in her heart. She couldn't be a player. She had to remember that the person she liked was Wesley.
Samantha took a deep breath, grabbed a few paper towels to dry her hands, and then tossed them into the trash can. The trash can was by the window. Thinking about Alfred's feelings for her, she felt awkward and stood by the window for a bit.
Glancing out, Samantha saw a few medical staff hurriedly pushing a stretcher outside an emergency building. Soon, someone was placed on the stretcher. The medical staff quickly pushed the person into the emergency building. Samantha was lost in thought but was jolted when she saw Wesley.
'Why is Wesley at the hospital? Who's he carrying?' Samantha took out her phone and called Wesley.
The long beeping sound rang out, and she saw Wesley take out his phone and glance at it, but he just stared at it without answering. He hung up and quickly walked into the emergency building.
Samantha's brows furrowed. She tried to recall the scene just now. 'It seems Wesley is carrying a woman? Why is Wesley bringing a woman to the hospital? Who's hurt?'
