Chapter 821 Someone Was Getting More and More Childish
Nora knew it well but said, "Officer Jane, you see how fate has brought you two together. Time and again, either he saved you or you saved him. It's clear that even God wants to pair you up."
Jane chuckled. "Dr. Smith, When will you stop being a matchmaker?"
Nora blinked. "That might take a while. Let me match a few more couples first."
Jane couldn't help but laugh.
At this moment, Aaron arrived.
"Nora, Officer Jane."
Jane nodded slightly at him and said to Nora, "Your husband is here to pick you up. You two should head home."
Nora responded, "Thanks for covering tonight."
"No problem, goodbye."
"Goodbye."
Jane and Nora waved goodbye.
Wrapping his arm around Nora's waist, Aaron nodded slightly at Jane and then left with Nora.
He already knew what had happened at the hospital tonight.
Back home, he carried Nora to the sofa and started taking off her clothes.
Nora was speechless and held down Aaron's mischievous hands. "What are you doing? You smell terrible; go take a shower first!"
Aaron had been socializing tonight, so he had a bit of alcohol on him.
His deep, dark eyes were also a bit hazy.
"You almost had an accident; let me check your body first."
Although he was slightly tipsy, his movements were still swift, and he quickly stripped Nora of her clothes.
Nora laughed. "Hey, the one who almost had an accident tonight wasn't me. There is nothing with me, OK?"
Aaron's gaze swept over Nora's fair, jade-like body, and his hazy eyes darkened a bit.
He leaned down and kissed her lips, his voice hoarse. "Perfect, absolutely perfect."
Every glance at her made his blood boil!
Aaron didn't linger; he picked up the fragrant Nora and strode towards the bathroom.
"Honey, even though I'm not physically hurt, my soul has taken a huge hit. I'm not in the mood tonight!"
Aaron said, "Don't worry, honey, I'll soothe your wounded soul."
Nora added, "I said I'm not in the mood!"
Ignoring her words, Aaron continued, "Relax, honey, I'll work hard to get you in the mood."
Nora was speechless.
She later understood what Aaron meant by working hard to get her in the mood.
Aaron was even more clingy after drinking.
He kept messing around with her, coaxing her into doing unspeakable things.
So much so that when Nora woke up the next day and saw the box of toys in the trash, her face flushed again.
Nora's mind flashed back to the indescribable pleasure she felt at the peak moments last night, and she couldn't help but cover her face.
Aaron's low, seductive voice still echoed in her ears.
"Honey, which is better, the toy or me?"
Aaron thought, 'Humans are truly amazing; they can invent anything.'
In those moments, with those toys, Nora really didn't need Aaron!
'Maybe I should buy Aaron a toy too.'
'For times when she wasn't available, let that thing serve him.'
'Crazy!'
Nora blushed and shook off the wild thoughts in her mind, then went downstairs for breakfast.
Her phone was still off.
She sat at the dining table and turned it on, finding a message from Aaron sent in the morning.
Aaron: [Honey, I'll be out of the country for a week. Remember to miss me. If you get lonely at night, let the little toy keep you company!]
The little toy was the thing Aaron had bought for her.
Nora's face turned red instantly.
She rolled her eyes and sent a reply.
Aaron didn't respond, probably because he was on the plane.
Nora then vaguely remembered that Aaron had mentioned last night, while she was half-asleep, that he was going on a business trip today.
At that time, she was so out of it that she completely forgot.
A business trip was good.
With Aaron on a business trip, she could have some peace.
After breakfast, Nora planned to go to Carl's lab.
Carl had invited her to help out in the lab for the past couple of days.
Since she had nothing else to do, she gladly went.
Upon arriving at the lab, she found out that Carl's project was in collaboration with Zephyr's new lab.
Originally, Zephyr was supposed to come to the lab for the project, but he was injured, so his partner Jeremy came instead.
Since both of them knew Zephyr, they started chatting.
Nora then learned that Jeremy was Jane's distant cousin.
What a small world.
"I heard Jane was taking care of Zephyr at the hospital last night. Looks like he'll soon be my cousin-in-law," Jeremy said.
Nora laughed. "You seem to think highly of them?"
Jeremy said, "I think they make a great pair. One is a cool cop, the other a gentle doctor. They complement each other well."
Nora nodded. "Indeed, I think so too."
But for now, it seemed like Jane and Zephyr didn't have feelings with each other.
Hopefully, with time, some romantic feelings would appear between them.
Nora was busy all morning. When she checked her phone at noon, she saw that Aaron had called her.
Her lips curved into a smile as she found a quiet place to call him back.
The call connected quickly.
"Honey."
"Are you busy?"
"Not right now, but I will be soon. I probably won't be able to take your calls for the next few days," Aaron said.
Nora's smile faltered slightly. "What's going on? Is something wrong?"
Aaron replied, "Don't worry, nothing's wrong. I'm going into the base here tomorrow, and they have signal jammers, so I won't be able to contact the outside world."
Hearing this, Nora felt a bit relieved.
She understood that Aaron's business trip involved military cooperation.
Such cooperation was usually tightly controlled to prevent leaks.
"Got it, take care of yourself."
"You too. Honey, if you get lonely at night, just..."
"I'll stay at my parents' house."
Nora quickly interrupted, fearing Aaron would say something else.
Aaron's muffled laughter came through the phone.
"Great minds think alike. Honey, how did you know I wanted you to stay at your parents' house?"
Nora rolled her eyes. "Because I'm your wife?"
"Honey, you know me best in the world. Don't miss me too much at night," Aaron teased.
"I don't have that much free time to miss you." Nora chuckled.
"In that case, I shouldn't have bought the little toy. You might neglect it."
"Aaron, if you keep talking nonsense, don't bother coming back!"
Nora's face heated up, thinking that the biggest mistake she made was indulging a drunk Aaron!
Because Aaron would keep teasing her!
Nora blushed and hung up.
Soon, Aaron sent a message.
Nora glanced at it and saw a few emojis.
Aaron: [Sad, hug, kiss.]
Nora found it amusing. Aaron was getting more and more childish.
