Chapter 815 How Annoying It Was

"Dr. Wright, Officer Jane," Kenneth greeted them.

He wasn't very familiar with Jane.

But last time at Radiant Beauty Clinic, when Sandy was held hostage by Ernest, he knew it was Jane who ultimately saved Sandy.

Kenneth also knew that Zephyr, Sandy, and Nora had saved Jane together before, when Sandy ran away to the small fishing village.

"Mr. Hamilton, I heard Dr. Hernandez has given birth. We came to see her and the baby," Jane said with a smile.

Kenneth nodded slightly. "Sandy is breastfeeding the baby. Please have a seat."

He had the servant pour coffee for Jane and Zephyr.

The two sat down, and there was a moment of silence.

Soon, Nora came out holding Otis.

"Dr. Wright, Officer Jane, did you come together?"

Nora was a bit surprised, not expecting the two to show up at the same time.

"Yes, we planned to come together." Zephyr smiled slightly.

'When did Jane and Zephyr get so close?' She thought.

Nora glanced at Jane and Zephyr, looking inquisitive.

"Let me see the baby. Who does he look like?"

Jane got up and walked to Nora's side, looking at the well-fed and sleeping Otis with curiosity.

"Such a tiny one."

Nora laughed. "He's not small for a newborn."

Otis was born weighing 7.17 pounds and measuring 1.64 feet, which was quite normal.

"Can I hold him?"

Jane, smelling the baby scent of Otis, felt a bit eager.

"Sure." Nora laughed.

Jane reached out to take Otis.

Zephyr, knowing Jane's strong and agile hands, couldn't help but say, "Jane, do you know how to hold a baby? Be careful; you might hurt him with your strong arms and legs."

Jane was already a bit nervous, having never held such a small baby before.

With Zephyr's comment, her hands froze in mid-air, hesitant to proceed.

She glanced at Zephyr and simply took a step back.

"Then you do it. Do you know how?"

Zephyr said, "Of course I do."

Saying that he took Otis from Nora's hands.

He held Otis with practiced ease.

Jane raised an eyebrow. "I forgot, you helped Juliet deliver a baby in the small fishing village, so holding Otis is a piece of cake for you."

Zephyr, holding Otis, didn't look up and casually said, "Remember now?"

Jane looked at Zephyr's gentle face, memories of their time in the small fishing village flooding back.

"Yes, I also remember how annoying you were back then."

Zephyr glanced at her, amused, "Was it me who was annoying, or you?"

"Of course, it was you."

Jane complained, "You acted all high and mighty like every patient in the world had to listen to you. If you weren't my savior, you have no idea how much I wanted to curse you out back then."

Zephyr was speechless. "You were the disobedient one. I've never seen a patient as uncooperative as you!"

Jane laughed. "And I've never seen a doctor as inconsiderate of a patient's feelings as you!"

Zephyr argued, "How was I inconsiderate of a patient's feelings?"

Jane replied, "Think about it yourself!"

Listening to Jane and Zephyr's conversation, a hint of interest flashed in Nora's eyes.

'Something's going on!'

She thought, 'Jane and Zephyr's relationship seemed to have taken a step forward.'

Nora's eyes sparkled as she deliberately said, "Dr. Wright, it's not very gentlemanly to tease a girl like that. Be careful, or you might never find a girlfriend in the future."

She was testing Zephyr.

If there were something between him and Jane, he would definitely say something.

Zephyr looked down at Otis in his arms, then glanced at Jane.

"I don't need to find a girlfriend anymore because Jane and I are dating."

Jane was speechless.

She wanted to refute, but seeing the slightly melancholic look in Zephyr's eyes, her heart softened a bit.

Forget it; she had been covering for him all day; one more time wouldn't hurt.

After all, Zephyr had helped her several times; she could consider this repaying his kindness.

Nora's eyes lit up. "So you two were flirting just now. I'm so clueless, I didn't even notice!"

'Jane and Zephyr are really together!'

'When did this happen?'

Kenneth thought. He had been tense seeing Zephyr. Upon hearing Zephyr's words, he felt relaxed.

Good, Zephyr finally found a girlfriend.

One less rival pining for Sandy.

"Congratulations to both of you." Kenneth politely offered his congratulations.

"Thank you." Zephyr smiled slightly at him.

"Mr. Hamilton, is Dr. Hernandez asleep? I'd like to see her," Jane asked, not wanting to be the center of attention.

"Sandy is still awake. Please, go ahead."

Kenneth made a gesture of invitation.

Jane followed him into the inner room.

Zephyr hesitated for a moment, then followed with Otis in his arms.

Nora lagged behind a couple of steps, whispering, "Dr. Wright, not bad. You are dating Jane. When did you two start?"

Zephyr looked at Kenneth's tall figure ahead and said, "Just now."

Nora blinked. "You've just decided to be together now?"

"Yes."

Zephyr's expression was calm, without the joy one would expect from someone in a new relationship.

Nora instantly understood.

Zephyr and Jane might not really be dating; Zephyr was probably pretending to be a couple with Jane to ease Kenneth and Sandy's minds.

For a moment, Nora didn't know what to say.

She genuinely hoped Zephyr could find his own happiness.

Hopefully, with time, Jane and Zephyr could become a real couple.

In the inner room, Sandy lay on the bed, bored, staring at the ceiling and listening to the sounds from the living room.

Kenneth strode to the bedside and gently said, "Sandy, Dr. Wright and Officer Jane are here to see you."

"Dr. Hernandez, how are you feeling?" Jane greeted her with a smile.

With Kenneth's help, Sandy quickly stood up. "I'm good; thank you for coming to see me."

"We had some free time, so we came," Jane glanced at Zephyr, who had followed them in and said.

Zephyr, holding Otis, walked to Jane's side and nodded slightly at Sandy.

Kenneth spoke at the right moment, "Sandy, you don't know yet that Dr. Wright and Officer Jane are dating."

Hearing this, a hint of surprise flashed in Sandy's eyes. "Congratulations."

A gentle look passed through Zephyr's eyes, and he smiled slightly. "Congratulations to you, too, on becoming a mother. The baby is adorable."

Let him take one more look.

'Goodbye, Cora.'

'May you always be happy and healthy as Sandy,' Zephyr thought.

They chatted for a bit, and then Jane's phone rang. It was a call from a colleague.

"You guys chat; I'll take this call."
