Chapter 464 Killed for Love

Hearing Becky's words, Nora smiled.

Nora did not expect that Becky, who was previously unaware of poverty, would now know how to save money!

"To thank you for helping me just now, I will pay for the meal," Nora said.

Becky looked at Nora. "No! We agreed that I would treat you to this meal. Are you looking down on me now that I am not rich anymore?" Becky said, trying to refuse Nora's offer.

Nora laughed, and asked, "Am I that kind of snob?"

Becky said, "If you're not, you have to let me pay."

Nora nodded in agreement, and said, "Okay. I will remember to repay you next time."

Becky looked at Nora unhappily, and remarked, "Do you have to do this? Do you see me as your sister or not? But now you are the noble heiress of the Hamilton family. You certainly wouldn't see me as your sister but as a poor and bad woman."

Nora felt that Becky was complaining!

Nora laughed and said, "You are describing me as a snob!"

Becky ignored Nora and asked the waiter for two more bottles of wine.

Nora frowned. "Do you still want to drink?" she asked.

Becky had already had a lot to drink.

"You don't have to pay. Just calm down!" Becky said as she poured herself a full glass of wine.

Nora laughed and thought, 'It seems like whatever I say, Becky will criticize me! Well, since she is in a bad mood, she can drink more. But I guess I will have to take care of her tonight.'

Nora ordered a few more dishes. The dishes kept coming.

Becky drank and looked troubled.

Nora guessed that Becky was troubled because of Charles's death and Lucas's sudden appearance.

She wanted to say something to comfort Becky but her phone rang suddenly. It was Aaron.

Nora thought, 'Since he is calling me now, he must have news about Charles's death.'

Becky was staring at Nora's phone, so Nora put it on loudspeaker mode so that she could hear Aaron's news.

"Aaron, I put it on loudspeaker mode. Do you have news about Charles's death?" Nora said directly.

"Yes. Noe went to the police station to inquire. Charles argued with a man named Bruce. As a result, Bruce accidentally killed Charles," Aaron said.

Nora listened carefully and asked, "Who is Bruce?"

Aaron answered, "Bruce's girlfriend, Vivian, was dating Charles."

Aaron briefly explained the complicated relationship between these three people.

Nora was somewhat surprised and looked at Becky. Becky looked gloomy.

"So, Charles was killed because of his love affair with Vivian?" Nora asked, seeking clarification.

"Yes." Aaron said, "Charles was on the verge of bankruptcy, so Vivian suggested a breakup. Charles refused because she was pregnant. But Vivian told Charles that the baby in her belly belonged to her secret boyfriend, Bruce.

"Charles was furious. He followed Vivian and found Bruce. When he fought with Bruce, Charles pulled out a knife.

"At that moment, Vivian saw Charles about to harm Bruce, so she tried to stop him. As a result, Charles accidentally cut her arm with the knife. Bruce became angry and wrestled with Charles for the knife. In the process, Bruce unintentionally killed Charles."

After listening to Aaron's explanation, Nora sighed.

Nora thought, 'So Charles died unexpectedly. Of course, I don't sympathize with him because a person as evil as Charles deserves to be killed. He has also caused harm to my mother before, so he is now facing punishment! Thus, fate is fair. He deserves it.'

When Becky cried and cursed, Nora looked at her and gently patted her hand. She said to Aaron, "Becky can't go back now, so please handle Charles' affairs."

"I have already gotten Noe's signature agreeing to keep Charles' body at the hospital. Becky can take care of it when she returns," Aaron replied.

He had already arranged everything.

Becky wiped away her tears and thanked Aaron.

"Thank you, Mr. Gordon," Becky thanked.

"No problem. I have to hang up now," Aaron said.

"Okay." After Nora replied, she hung up.

Becky picked up a glass of wine and drank it all in one gulp.

Becky started crying again.

Nora sighed, trying to calm her down, she advised, "Don't cry. It's not good for your stomach to eat and cry at the same time."

Becky cried and choked as she replied, "Both of my parents have passed away. From now on, I'm an orphan."

Nora held her hand, and coaxed, "You said I am your sister before. Were you lying? Don't you consider me your sister?"

Becky looked at Nora with tears in her eyes. "Will you be my sister?" she asked.

Nora said, "Do you think I would go out to dinner with a stranger?"

After a pause of two seconds, Becky cried out, "Yes, you are my sister."

Seeing Becky's tears, Nora also became sad and handed her two tissues to wipe her tears.

"Don't cry. Many people are watching us!" Nora urged.

Because of Lucas and Betsy, Becky and Nora became the focus.

The other customers often turned around to look at them.

Nora thought, 'If I were easily afraid and shy, I would have left a long time ago.'

Becky sniffed and poured herself another drink.

Nora frowned, and chided, "You should drink a little less. Drinking too much alcohol might give you a stomachache."

"Nora, I feel uncomfortable. Can you drink with me?" Becky choked up, with her eyes red.

Nora felt sad again and nodded. "Okay. I'll drink with you," she agreed.

They clinked their glasses. Nora was just about to take a sip of her drink when she received Aaron's text message.

Aaron: [Are you drinking?]

Nora immediately looked around, wondering, 'How does he know? Has he sent someone to follow me? But Frederick isn't here.'

Nora suddenly felt nervous and typed a reply.

Nora: [I've only had a little bit to drink.]

Aaron: [How much is a little bit?]

Nora: [I still need to finish a whole glass.]

Aaron: [You can only drink one glass.]

Nora: [Why?]

Aaron: [What if you get drunk and want to have sex at night? Are you going to use your fingers?]

Nora was speechless.

Nora felt her ears getting hot. She sent Aaron an "angry" emoji and put down her phone.

"Nora, you have to drink with me. Don't chat with other people," Becky said, starting to stutter.

Nora looked up and saw that Becky had already drunk half a bottle of wine.

Nora sighed and said, "Drink slower. If you get drunk, I won't be able to take you home."

Becky looked at Nora and started to cry.

"Nora, you said you don't hate me and treat me like your sister. You're lying! You're not letting me drink!" Becky stuttered, but her voice was loud.

The other diners looked at Nora.

Nora immediately covered Becky's mouth. "All right! Drink as much as you want!"

Nora thought, 'I'm really unlucky! Comforting Becky is even harder than comforting my four children!'
