Chapter 932 Because I'm So Charming
The two decided to meet at a coffee shop near Galactic Media.
Frederick brought Nora there.
"This way."
Jenny was by the window, waiting.
Nora sat across from her, giving her a once-over.
"Jenny, Edric's been feeding you well, huh?"
Jenny sipped her water. "If you think I've gained weight, just say it."
Nora nodded. "Yeah, you have."
Jenny shot her a look but smiled.
Just then, the waiter brought milk, coffee, and some desserts.
Jenny pushed the coffee to Nora and sipped her milk.
Nora was surprised. "Milk?"
They usually drank coffee.
"Yeah, I'm pregnant." Jenny touched her belly, looking happy.
Nora guessed right. "Congrats! How far along?"
"Just over a month," Jenny said.
Nora laughed. "Edric and his folks must be thrilled."
Jenny nodded. "Thanks to you, they treat me really well now."
Nora smiled. "Now that you're pregnant, they must be even more protective."
"Yeah, Fiona wants me to stay home and rest."
Jenny looked a bit troubled.
Nora sipped her coffee and laughed. "Isn't that a bit much?"
"I couldn't agree more. It's completely unreasonable."
Jenny sighed. "Nora, if I stay home with Fiona every day, I'll go nuts."
True enough.
Young people and elders have different lifestyles. Staying together all the time could lead to arguments.
Nora thought for a moment. "Have Edric tell Fiona that a happy mom means a healthy baby. Staying home all day will make you depressed."
Jenny's eyes lit up. "You're so smart."
"Of course, I've been through it."
Nora then asked, "Is Ursula still bothering Edric?"
Jenny nodded. "She tried a couple more times, but Edric ignored her."
Nora was speechless. "She hasn't given up? Fiona hasn't pushed her onto Edric again, right?"
"Nope. Ursula stayed at the Bishop Manor for two days and then left," Jenny said.
Nora nodded. "Good."
Jenny sighed again.
Nora glanced at her. "What's up?"
Jenny looked helpless. "Edric's too handsome and he's the boss of Galactic Media. If it's not Ursula, it'll be someone else. It's impossible to guard against."
Nora frowned. "Another starlet?"
"Not exactly."
Jenny said, "But you know, everyone wants shortcuts, especially in the entertainment industry. Edric's the boss, everyone wants to connect with him."
Nora laughed.
Same could be said about Aaron.
"I get it."
They exchanged a look and laughed.
They chatted for a while, then Edric arrived.
He was dressed in white casual wear, looking sharp.
After greeting Nora, he turned to Jenny with concern.
"Feeling tired?"
Jenny smiled sweetly. "I'm not that fragile. The baby's just over a month old; I don't feel much."
Edric said, "Mom made clam chowder for you. She wants us home for dinner tonight."
Jenny frowned and pinched her cheek. "Honey, look at my face, it's so chubby now. Can you tell Mom to stop overfeeding me?"
Edric laughed, took her hand, and gave it a squeeze. "You were too skinny before. Now you look better with some weight. You feel nice to the touch now."
Jenny glared and lightly slapped his hand. "Be serious."
Edric chuckled. "I've always been like this, Dr. Smith knows that."
"Stop saying that."
"Okay, I won't say it anymore. I'll listen to you."
Nora sipped her coffee, smiling at their banter.
Just then, her phone rang. It was Aaron.
"Hello."
"Honey, did Gabriella tell you she's coming to Youston?"
Aaron had just seen Nora's message and called.
"Yes."
"She probably thinks Johnnie came to Youston with me," Aaron said.
Nora didn't think much of it. "Yes."
"Where are you? It sounds noisy," Aaron asked.
Nora glanced at Jenny and Edric. "I'm out with Jenny, and Edric's here too."
Aaron protested, "You three are hanging out without inviting me?"
Nora smiled. "You're busy."
Aaron said, "Where are you guys? I'll come pick you up later."
"No need, you're busy. I have to pick Gabriella up from the airport later," Nora said.
Aaron sounded displeased. "This Gabriella is such a hassle."
Nora laughed. "Don't say that, she's my friend."
Aaron said, "I'm just worried you'll get tired."
Tired?
Nora glanced at Jenny and laughed. "I'm not pregnant like Jenny, I won't get tired."
Aaron was surprised. "Is Jenny pregnant?"
"Yes, Edric's going to be a dad," Nora said.
Aaron was silent for a moment. "Honey, why aren't you pregnant yet?"
Nora was speechless.
She didn't want to continue the conversation.
"I'm hanging up."
Aaron laughed. "Grandpa wants us to go to the Gordon Manor for dinner tonight."
"Okay, got it."
Nora hung up.
Jenny teased, "Mr. Gordon checking up on you?"
Nora laughed. "Yes, just like Edric checking up on you."
Edric laughed. "Knowing I'm going to be a dad, Aaron must be jealous, right?"
Nora laughed. "What's there to be jealous of? He's already a dad of three."
If anyone should be jealous, it should be Jenny and Edric being jealous of Aaron!
"That's different."
Edric shook his finger. "I get to be with Jenny every day, witnessing the baby's arrival step by step. But Aaron missed out on that. Of course, he feels regret."
That was true.
That's why Aaron often asked her why she wasn't pregnant yet.
Maybe he wanted to make up for his regret?
"Nora, you're gonna pick someone up from the airport later?" Jenny changed the topic.
"Yes, picking up a client of Aaron's," Nora said casually.
"Why does Mr. Gordon's client need you to pick them up?" Jenny was puzzled.
Thinking of Gabriella, Nora joked, "Because I'm charming."
Jenny was speechless.
