Chapter 758 Was There Any Flirting Going On Outside
Jeffery's chest heaved with anger, his eyes momentarily turning red.
The room fell silent, everyone looking at the displeased expression on Jacob's face.
Jacob glared at Jeffery. "Jeffery, if you still want to be the daughter-in-law of the Gordon family, then control your temper!"
With guests present in the house, it was inappropriate for Jeffery, as the hostess, to display such a bad temper!
No wonder Caden never took a liking to Jeffery.
As a hostess, Jeffery lacked any sense of tact.
With this attitude, Jeffery could never make Caden fall deeply in love with her.
"Dad, you blame me, but it's your son who has no shame, gallivanting around at his age!"
Jeffery felt wronged, and tears welled up in her eyes.
Jacob slammed his fork on the table.
"A man who constantly flits around does so for numerous reasons. One reason is that the man is naturally fickle, and the second reason is that it's a learned behavior."
"I admit Caden is a bit flirtatious, but if you truly have the ability, even a playboy can turn over a new leaf! But look at you; besides yelling at your husband, what else can you do?"
"Men also get tired. After a day of work outside, if they come home only to face with accusations, they won't be happy and will surely seek entertainment elsewhere."
Jacob wasn't defending Caden or saying he was faultless.
But that was how marriage was.
Very practical.
As a man, Jacob understood men's minds too well.
Many men have their flaws.
Especially wealthy men.
If a wife didn't use a bit of strategy, the marriage could easily run into problems.
Jacob just hoped Jeffery could understand a bit, reflect on herself, and consider if she could make efforts to win Caden's heart.
However, things didn't go as planned.
"Yes, it's all my fault. You are all family, and I'm just an outsider!"
Jeffery clearly didn't grasp Jacob's intentions and left in tears.
The door opened and closed again, the room quiet once more.
Jacob's brows furrowed, his expression grim.
Seeing a few children looking at him, he softened his tone. "Don't mind them; let's continue our meal."
The children obediently nodded and resumed eating.
Noe and Seraphina felt awkward at the dining table.
Especially Seraphina, she didn't expect to witness such unsightly family drama.
Both of them silently attended to the children, acting as if they were invisible.
Aaron, perhaps accustomed to the scene, had been silent the whole time and now ate his meal leisurely.
Nora, beside him, thought about the childhood experiences he had shared with her, a hint of pity flashing in her eyes.
Nora's fair and slender hand gently squeezed Aaron's leg.
Aaron's eating paused slightly as he turned to look at her.
Meeting Nora's beautiful eyes, he didn't speak, just smiled and served her a bowl of soup.
Nora continued eating and noticed a message on her phone.
Glancing at it, she saw it was from Aaron.
Aaron said with a pitiful tone, "Honey, I see the sympathy in your eyes. Take good care of me tonight."
Nora was speechless.
Alright, Aaron was incredibly resilient; she had worried for nothing.
Thankfully, with the children around, the atmosphere in the Gordon Manor livened up again after a brief dull moment.
Noe and Seraphina continued playing with the children in the Gordon Manor.
Jacob watched the children's small figures, smiling on the surface but feeling uneasy inside.
So he found a moment to tell Aaron, "Aaron, go find your dad and see what he's up to."
Caden had been a flirt in his youth, and Jacob couldn't do much about it.
Now that he was older, Jacob just hoped for peace in the family, that Caden and Jeffery wouldn't really end up in a divorce.
If there were any unsavory women bothering Caden outside, it would be good to give them a warning.
"Alright." Aaron agreed and prepared to go out to find Caden.
In the living room, Nora was texting with Jenny.
Nora informed Jenny that she had arrived in Youston and had just finished dinner.
Soon, Jenny sent a selfie from the club, Oasis Lounge.
Jenny: [Nora, coming over for a drink?]
Nora: [You're at the club alone?]
Jenny: [Yes, will you come and have a drink with me?]
Nora blinked, wondering why Jenny had gone to Oasis Lounge alone.
It seemed that Jenny was drowning her sorrows in alcohol.
"Honey, I'm going out for a bit." Aaron came over to grab his coat and informed her.
"Where are you going?" Nora asked.
"I'm going to find my dad."
"Okay."
Thinking about the events at the dinner table earlier, Nora felt somewhat helpless.
With Caden and Jeffery acting like that, they might actually end up in a divorce.
She was curious whether Caden was really flirting around outside.
From Caden's furious expression, it seemed unlikely.
But it was also possible that he was just putting on a show in front of everyone.
At that moment, Nora's phone rang.
It was Jenny calling.
Seeing that Nora hadn't replied to her messages, Jenny decided to call directly.
Nora answered the call, hearing a noisy background.
"Nora, you traitor, prioritizing romance over friendship; now that you have a man, you forget your girlfriends. Are you coming to have a drink with me or not?" Jenny shouted loudly.
Nora instinctively moved the phone away a bit, then said, "I'm coming; I'll be there soon."
She wasn't someone who prioritized romance over friendship.
She needed to find out what was going on with Jenny.
"Grandpa, I'm going out to meet a friend," Nora informed Jacob.
"Be careful. Let Frederick accompany you," Jacob reminded her.
"Got it."
Nora smiled, seeing Noe and Seraphina playing with the children; she didn't disturb them and left in Frederick's car for Oasis Lounge.
The first floor of Oasis Lounge was bustling with people, and the lights were dazzling.
The dance floor was filled with moving figures.
In the center of the stage, a few dancers were performing pole dancing.
Whistles and cheers filled the air.
Nora looked around upon entering and finally spotted Jenny drinking at the bar on the right side of the dance floor.
Nora smiled and walked over, patting Jenny's shoulder.
"Are you alone? Do me the honor of buying me a drink, beautiful."
Jenny had already had several drinks sitting alone here.
Her pretty face was flushed, showing signs of slight intoxication.
Her eyes carried a hint of drunkenness.
Seeing Nora arrive, she smiled, raising her hands to hook around Nora's neck.
"Nora, you're finally here."
As she spoke, Jenny pouted and seemed about to kiss Nora.
Nora was speechless.
How much had Jenny been drinking?
Nora slightly dodged, pulling Jenny's arms apart.
"Sit properly. How much have you been drinking?"
