Chapter 626 Not True Love
In the room, Gerald made tea for Kenneth and Sandy.
Sandy sat quietly next to Kenneth, not saying a word.
Kenneth took a sip of tea, looking at the veil on Sandy's face, feeling a bit uncomfortable.
He raised his hand, wanting to lift her veil; Sandy noticed and avoided quickly, saying, "Don't look; my face is ugly now."
Kenneth's hand reached out in the air, a hint of tenderness in his eyes.
He withdrew his hand slowly and said, "Then why did you ruin your appearance. Are you silly?"
Sandy kept silent, her eyes downcast.
Kenneth sighed inwardly and held her hand, saying, "Nora told me everything about you. Suzy Hamilton framed you; you've been wronged."
Upon hearing this, Sandy's lowered eyelashes trembled.
The scene of that day was still vivid in her mind; every time she thought of it, her heart clenched.
She didn't feel wronged; she felt scared. Because Kenneth had an accident as soon as he left.
Thinking of this, her hand involuntarily tightened around Kenneth's hand, her eyes slightly reddened.
She said, "Thank goodness you're okay."
Kenneth gazed at her and said, "I'm fine, so you should come back with me."
He wanted her to come back with him!
Sandy's heart tightened at the thought that she was a jinx, and she instinctively let go of his hand.
Kenneth held her hand tightly, not letting go.
"Don't you want to come back with me?"
Sandy raised her eyes slowly, met Kenneth's intense gaze, and opened her mouth but couldn't speak.
She wanted to go back with him. But she was afraid of harming him again as a jinx.
"You don't trust her; why should she go back with you?" Zephyr's voice came from the door.
Kenneth turned to look, and Zephyr walked in.
Nora followed behind him.
Nora wanted to say something but eventually silently stepped aside to see what Zephyr intended to do.
"Zephyr, what did you just say?" Nora asked.
Facing this seemingly persistent rival, Kenneth naturally pulled a long face.
Zephyr looked at Kenneth, who seemed sickly but still had an air of nobility, feeling both envious and jealous.
He envied Kenneth's good family background, which led Sandy to marry him by mistake.
He also envied Kenneth's good luck.
In just a few months, Kenneth had captured Sandy's heart.
His chest felt tight, but Zephyr didn't show it on his face. He said, "Mr. Hamilton, you had an accident, but you don't have amnesia, right? Have you forgotten how you mistakenly thought Sandy was having an affair with me at the lab?"
"The most important thing between husband and wife is trust. If you don't trust her, why should she go back with you?"
"You caused her to be labeled as a harlot by the Hamilton family, forcing her to leave in embarrassment. She also has dignity and can't be at your beck and call."
Zephyr's words hit Kenneth's sore spot.
Thinking back to that scene, Kenneth felt awkward and guilty.
He admitted that he had indeed suspected Sandy and didn't trust her. But that was human nature.
He was a man, and when he saw Sandy and Zephyr in disarray in the same room, he couldn't remain rational.
Especially since Zephyr was Sandy's first love.
Zephyr and Sandy were originally a couple, but Kenneth's appearance broke them up.
Sandy had feelings for Zephyr from the start. So he couldn't possibly remain rational!
If he could remain rational, it would mean that he didn't love Sandy. Because he loved her, he lost his usual composure!
Kenneth suppressed his emotions and looked at Sandy, holding her hand tightly and saying, "Sorry, I misunderstood you at the time."
If he had to admit a mistake, he must admit it. But the person who should leave, he would definitely take away.
Sandy shook her head and said, "I don't blame you."
She understood Kenneth.
If it were her, she would also be angry if she saw Kenneth and another woman in disarray in a private room.
No one was a saint.
Zephyr looked at Sandy's gentle demeanor and felt a pang in his heart.
He swallowed and said, "Sandy, you don't blame him, but can Kenneth really accept you when you no longer solely belong to him?"
Kenneth turned to Zephyr, his gaze as sharp as a knife.
He asked, "What do you mean?"
Zephyr stared at him, saying, "Sandy and I were both deceived at the time. We slept together. Do you really not mind?"
At these words, Kenneth's expression changed, a cold aura enveloping him once again.
Sandy's expression also changed; she said, "Zephyr, you..."
Zephyr interrupted Sandy in time, "Don't speak!"
"Sandy, I know you still have feelings for me, and you also love him. You have fallen in love with both me and Kenneth. You can't make a choice, so let me and him make the choice."
After saying this, Zephyr looked at Kenneth again. "Mr. Hamilton, I won't mind if Sandy has been with you before. What about you? Do you have that kind of tolerance?"
Zephyr's provocative gaze and tone made Kenneth's aura grow even colder, his gaze icy.
Sandy, on the side, swallowed nervously, feeling the chilling aura emanating from Kenneth.
Kenneth held her hand so tightly that it hurt her.
Sandy wanted to explain the situation that day to Kenneth, but when the words reached her lips, her mind suddenly went blank. Kenneth was awake now and said he wanted to take her home. But she had concerns and didn't dare to go home with him.
He was so outstanding that he should find a more outstanding woman to be his wife.
It might be better to let him misunderstand her.
Their marital relationship should end here!
Suddenly, Sandy's nose tingled, and her chest felt stuffy.
She was really being melodramatic.
She had already decided to separate from Kenneth, so why was she feeling so uncomfortable?
"Sandy was my wife in the past and will be in the future! Zephyr, you don't need to provoke me; you have no right to compete with me for Sandy!" Kenneth's low, cold voice rang in her ears.
Sandy came to her senses and saw Kenneth pulling her up.
"Let's go, come home with me," Kenneth said.
He still wanted her to go home with him.
Sandy stared at him blankly and opened her mouth to say something but didn't know what to say.
Didn't Kenneth understand? Zephyr said she betrayed him. And he didn't mind.
"Mr. Hamilton, before you rush off, please tell me plainly, do you mind if Sandy and I spent a night together?" Zephyr had no intention of letting Kenneth easily bypass the question he had just raised.
He blocked Kenneth and Sandy's path, staring directly at Kenneth.
Kenneth held Sandy's hand tightly once again. His gaze was cold, his voice restrained with suppressed anger.
"Zephyr, are you asking for trouble?" Kenneth said.
Zephyr wasn't afraid of him but smiled slightly, saying, "Mr. Hamilton, if you refuse to answer my question directly, does that mean you mind it? It seems I guessed right; you don't truly love Sandy!"
